net profits might have gone up, but what about the profit margin (profit relative to revenue). if the government is running a pseudo insurance company, they are taking it over because they set the standard. they're setting rules that say you can't not offer coverage to people with existing conditions and so forth ... that is a government take over. Just because they don't manage the system doesn't mean they control it if they set all the rules.

That was a good journalistic interview! These sold-out jerks need to be put on notice that all the world is not a forum for them to posture while they take bribes to protect corporate health insurance from reform. I would guess that "health care" will continue to be extremely classist and unfair. Rich people will hang out and convince one another that they are "more fit to live" than working people. Work related insurance is a huge problem, because any criminal who is on the side of management, can deprive you not only of insurance, but your life, and your family's life. This has happened to me more than once. This is actually "grounds" for heavy duty violence in the work place. Health insurance associate with the work place is about as sick as you can get. It means that any fucking jerk who has an "in" can destroy your life and everything you ever worked for. We see the results now.
I think the 60% of people supporting a public option that is the key here. You can't fool all of the people all of the time. People know their bottom line regardless of what Republican shills say.

When Shep clearly laid out why the Public Option is necessary, I love how the Senator talks about how he doesn't think the Public Option is the best way to go, but he really doesn't provide a real solution. If the republicans can't do anything about the healtcare problem, then why not try the only LEGITIMATE alternative? Oh yea, because they want Obama and the democrats to fail! If the public option was passed and worked, I think mainstream America will finally leave the GOP for good.

Work related insurance is a huge problem, because any criminal who is on the side of management, can deprive you not only of insurance, but your life, and your family's life. This has happened to me more than once. This is actually "grounds" for heavy duty violence in the work place. Health insurance associate with the work place is about as sick as you can get. It means that any fucking jerk who has an "in" can destroy your life and everything you ever worked for. We see the results now.

The Government always helps the wealthy-dishonest no matter how corrupt and murderous they are. This seems to be a huge problem since health insurance is so overwhelmingly greedy. I got hurt on the job very badly. The chances of getting life saving surgery paid for by Liberty Mutual as the WC carrier.... virtually nil. Why would i not want to torpedo them as they torpedoed me. Our country is really degenerate and sick hierarchically and is where dishonest pays the really big bucks.

I've worked dangerous jobs. This means if you make a certain misstep, you will die.
You would think they would try to keep it safe. The fact of the matter is leaders and bosses tend to like to see some people die. Then they can ring their hand, wave their arms, and pretend to be sad. It's the ugliest side of human nature. If you have better status, then you can send people who might challenge you through their work to their death. That happened to me several time. The Gov helped them.

Unhappily, status people don't add a great deal of value and pay for little or nothing. Pretending to lay down the law while victimizing workers is not a valuable job or honest in any way. A suit merely means that you are either initiatiated into the crimial ways of status or wishing to be. People who feel they are so much better by being dishonest with group support are the worst. Seems like money only makes people credible in terms of money, and that's all relative to a game of greed.

Insurance execs get their positions by pretending not to be "consummate fucking creeps" while at the same time giving historically unprecedented new meaning to the term "complete FC". It's all about the management of, by, and for Holy god favored greed. "Bread winner" is a horrible misnomer for cut throats.
