One of the greatest movie musicals ever made; great cinematography, top music by Leonard Bernstein, great songs and see NYC live in 1949... fabulous!

@Joylibelle It was also one of the first musicals that was shot outside on location rather than inside with sound studios trying to re-create the locations.

@ChicagoSouthDan, Yes, I know, isn't it great? Once you've seen NYC yourself and actually been there, you'll get a better picture of where exactly they have been filming. In this clip, they stood on top of Rockefeller Building.. I'm sure you know that too, ChicagoSouthDan. OTT, It's one of my favourite movie musicals. Thanks for replying.

@Joylibelle Yes, I've been to NYC. The last time I was there was before 2001, so I could go up into the Statue of Liberty with no restrictions. I think they've opened it completely again, but I'm not sure. Made it to the top of the Empire State Building but not the top of the Rockefeller Building. Poor Jules Munchin. When people talk about the movie, they often say "Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra, and the third guy". He did a good job, was much more than just the third guy.

@ChicagoSouthDan, I agree! I just loved Jules Munchin in OTT ! He was so funny, and he had such a beautiful voice. Loved him in Easter Parade (very funny) and Silk Stocking too! I was in NYC in 1998 and in 2008, just before Obama won the pres.elections. There are now more storeys on top of Rockefeller than in 1949, my photos show...
