The F-14 and TF-30 have been cited as the worst aircraft/engine match up in history. The RIO (rear instrument officer) ejects first in the F-14, as can be seen in the very famous case of Kara Hultgreen.

At least 4 RIO's were killed due to ejecting from F-14s in flat spins. One of the TF-30 engines would stall, and the only way to prevent an immediate flat spin was to apply rudder. The spin would not produce enough air current to move the canopy from the RIO's ejection path.

thanks for interesting info David, yes, unfortunately that was the design flaw of an extremely expensive and high tech aircraft at the time.
