Wrath had to be the best of all the expansions, the music, the storylines, the settings were just amazing some of my best times in Wow were spent in the days of Wrath!
I used to sit in my nice comfy office chair, with headphones in ear, sit back and listen to this song as my level 70 warrior was sitting on his mount at Vengeance Landing, whilst sipping on some cold soda at night. Nostalgic.
Beautiful but sad, reminds me of the lyrics from LOTR. "Home is behind, the world ahead, and there are many paths to tread...Through shadow, to the edge of night, until the stars are all alight..Mist and shadow, cloud and shade...all shall fade...all shall fade..."
@wowhorde7775 how do you think? maybe because "WoWMusicGuru" playing Ally or just likes Ally boat. Or he just dont give a shit, and put a random good looking screenshot with boat. Dumbass
@TaurenWarchief I am going through Lich King for the first time and I hopped on the boat that this music plays to just to see where it went. I couldn't wait to look it up on Youtube. I am so happy that Blizz decided to put this back on. It is just beautiful. I can't even imagine why it would be taken off to begin with.
I listened to this the first time I traveled to Howling Fjord on the release day of wotlk.. Seeing the burning ship hanging from the cliff.. Seeing Arthas on the loading screen.. This was MY best expansion.. Just miss those times..
Another useless comment about the awesomeness of this music.
It gives to me the feelings of a hero character that is preparing to pack for its new great adventure. With the portals removed from Dalaran, I find myself to listen to this much more frequently when leveling an alt. I wish I could hear it in other places of Azeroth.
@darkknightita yup thats why blizz played this song when your on a boat to northrend when i hear this song i imagine my char standing on the front of the boat looking into the distance waiting for his arrival to Howling Fjord unknowing of what waits in store for him there..
Please, what is the actual name of this piece? it is not on the Wrath soundtrack unfourtunately and its the best music in the game brings me close to tears whenever i hear it
This piece made the trip to WotLK feel like you were going on an adventure. Thinking about boring thundra and then finally some good zones like grizzly hills and zuldrak...
Good times: Stepping aboard this boat at level 68, Killing your first thing in northrend, Completing your first quest in Northrend, COmpleting your first dungeon in Northrend, Completing your first raid in Northrend, Getting to Dala, Hitting 80, Killing the Lich king, Jumping off ulduar (Optional).
@TheLordVen The musicians deserve this masterpiece to be in more places than such an ignored mode of transportation... it may be used more often now but WotLK is over
It sounds like they are playing on a Scandinavian key harp of sorts. ("Nyckelharpa", look it up on YouTube, it's awesome.) It makes this frozen northerner feel at home at any rate. Love it.
awww... I remember the true reason why I started playing wow 5 years ago was actually the music.... and this ride was the sweetest experience I had into Northrend...aww ^-^
If my character ever was to die in WoW, this is the music i would like him to have at his funeral. "Rest now hero, rest in the soils of Azeroth you walked, the soils you cleansed from evil. Ride with honor to the halls of your forefathers, for this world will always remember your valor, and live forever with the heroes of the past."
Is it bad that I'm already getting nostalgia from WOTLK before it even ended? Well, I still hate ICC, but Naxx, and especially Ulduar, make me wish I could play in the past forever.
@PoliticalHell Vanilla, brother...Pre-BC was the most fun ever in WoW imo. Then BC. I personally didn't enjoy WOTLK very much. But, we all have our taste nonetheless. WOTLK had the best music, I'll give it that :P
@vvbn7890 Haha true :) I haven't played Vanilla, but BC was amazing. I liked parts of WOTLK, and even if it wasn't as great as prior expansions, it was still a good time. Raiding 10-man Naxx on a Friday night with all my friends = paradise LOL
I was sure when I was on that boat that the second Northrend was finished loading the Rickroll song started playing as text explained they ran out of money so all they could make was the ships leading there and the DK class. You would then be met by large bloody letters saying "You lost"! Want to try again? When you press that you would be teleported back and your character would be reset to level 1
brings back memories of thursday november 13th, 2008 at around 3 am when i finally got the game installed. the install CDs werent working so i was lucky enough that blizzard had wotlk ready to download off their account page so quickly. hearing this music while arriving at the docks of howling fjord was so epic...even though i only got about an hour and a half of sleep :-P
Why did they remove this... I re-rolled with a mate when they released Wrath. So when we dinged 70 we both stepped on the ship together and this music kicked in. Literally never felt the hairs on my arms stand up so quickly... :-D
No, the Horde had the same music. I remember stepping onto that zepplin for the first time and hearing that epic music as I traveled up to the Howling Fjord.
God this music was so epic when it was still in the game. Blizzard sure knows how to make it's music fit with the game scenario. Too bad they took it out...
