  • It's all about 1967 Spiderman and this is a great episode w/ lots of great New York one-liners from Spidey! All the voice talent acting their asses off too.

  • 3:00

*puts a giant spider on mysterios cape*

    he'll never notice :)

  • Spiderman: "There seems to be one thing that you forget. Your power is artificial, mine is natural!"

*Spiderman proceeds and continues to swing his fists like a retard*

  • "PROBABLY A SONIC BOOM!" Lmao wut?!

  • 0:15 he fart FIRE!!!

  • @mrtheoriginalschool MYSTERIO: I'm not the greatest stunt man in the world for nothing.

SPIDERMAN: Thanks for telling me who you are and in front of witnesses.

    MYSTERIO: Why you?

SPIDERMAN: Now that's what I call using the old head? When the Police arrive tell them that this little package is from their Friendly Neighbourhood Spiderman?

Classic dialogues from a 1967 cartoon!!!

  • Is it me, or does Mysterio have the voice of the Phantom Dictator of Krankor?.

  • THIS is when Cartoons were great! Spider-man had the most Drama and the best Music of them All. Steve Ditko's Art work style was mimicked very closely. Thanks.

  • I love swinging on top of bridges! Especially east coast swing! So much fun!

  • 5:55 George W Bush !!!

  • When Gantry studios made these, they were at the top of their game. They started out with the Marvel Super Heroes, basically they just used the pages from the comic books and some minor animation. With Spiderman, they did more, from music to the dialog and most of the stories were close to the spidey issues during the time.

  • Silly Mysterio! You got trolled by Jameson! Money just doesn't work if a bill is split in half. =D

    Silly Mysterio.

  • Mysterio just loses! He just gives up! He's clearly more powerful than Spiderman, but the writers were like "DERP SPIDERMAN'S GOTTA WIN SOMEHOW. LETS PUNCH MYSTERIO TO DEATH"

  • Yeah, agreed. The first season was great. The seasons where Ralph Bakshi screwed things up arent so hot. I know they had money problems but the storylines were just dumb!!! I did like some of the music though. Too bad the original first season's music went missing (or stolen). Oh well, I'll just have to re create it or some of it anyway, on my guitar...

  • @whoopadoopa So,that explains those weird druged out looking backrounds from the later seasons of Spiderman. Bakshi, had some off the wall ideas,he also came back years later and did Mighty Mouse, with some push to the edge scenes with his inside jokes, that, got MM canceled,ha ha ha. Besides, those later season Spiderman episodes were basically just mashups, with not much new animation work involved.

  • this is for bigbiteproductions hey do you know where i could get this on dvd

  • did anyone notice they always use the same cutscenes when he's swinging on his web??

  • brings back memories i was 7 when this first came on 51 now still like the old toons

  • @MrJocko1991 i used to watch this show a couple years ago

  • 6:45 it sounds like guile from street fighter shooting ....

  • oh...my...god. and i thought the more recent ones were cheesy....

  • "There doing a lot of swinging, and nothing else", arn'y they lucky ;)

  • 04:23 Fart.

  • just noticed the sample from a doom song... Dragons Blood 4:25 - 5:00

  • old school super heroes beat super heroes now

  • Spider man:Try this for size!

    Mysterio: Big talk small action!

Spider man: think so? try touching me!!

  • Love the fight on the movie set!

  • mYSTERIO LOOKS LIKE MR SPOCK...

  • @3dartistguy its uncanny

  • what the hell. who rips money in half as a half payment?

  • "I think I'll go for a nice, long swim... Underwater!" Where else would you swim?

  • @FPianoChan above water...lol

  • There goes the Spiderman!!!

  • THIS IS A MASTERPIECE HAHA

  • That's a pretty vast tracking bug!

  • It is Quentin Beck, but tv shows don't always stick to the facts in the comic books.

  • Mysterio's identity is Joe? I thought it was Quentin Beck?

  • This is so great - makes me wish I was a kid in the 60s.

  • Gotta love how Mysterio's voice almost sounds like Squidward.

  • ISNT VENOM THAT KILLED SUPERMAN? HOW COME HE FIGHTS SPIDERMAN AND LOST? I THINK THE WRITERS TRY TO MAKE THE ENDURE FOREVER?

  • MYSTRERIO LOST? IMPOSIBLE, TOO MUCH FOR A HERO, SORRY

  • "what was that?!" "Prolly a sonicboom." 6:44

  • lol mysterio doesn't have much offensive capacity.

  • What the fuck??? He riped the money in half!!!

  • 2:23 Mysterio sure goes to a whole lotta trouble plotting against and fighting SpiderMan, all so he can collect 1 Dollar from J.J. (and then he only get's a ripped-up half-a-dollar) I guess being the "World's Greatest Stuntman", 7:50 , doesn't pay well. ;) But yes, thanks for posting the vid. It's a classic.

  • 00:25 hitler? O_o

  • LOL! Spiderman keeps uppercutting Mysterio.

  • Great plots in all 67 Spidey cartoons

  • Gee, I wonder if that was a dollar bill that jj jameson tore ???

    ... or maybe a 50 ??

    Gee wiz !!!

  • LOL Jonah Jamison gave him $20 for killing spiderman

  • @planes3333

Back in '67 $20 was worth a lot more.

  • @TheNintendhoe

    yeah true

  • Love the ending.

  • spiderman was hard in the 60's

  • this show 100% superior then 99% of today's so called cartoons.

  • They must have been born under the same sign... yeah, the dollar sign!

  • One thing that irritates me about this series is how they sometimes, but not always, substituted bad guys for extremely similar lookalikes for no obvious reason. Charles Cameo was just a haughtier Chameleon, and Cliventon was like Kraven and Boomerang combined.

  • lol did he say "your puny little faggot tricks" at 0:44 ??

  • @FakeandGay55 It's "Your puny little BAG OF TRICKS". Good one though!

  • @FakeandGay55 "your puny little bag of tricks" but ya i did a double take on that too!

  • Even in this show, Spidey whooped Mysterio's butt.

  • "A nice long swim.

    Underwater."

Opposed to what, swimming in the air?

  • @xXprincessxPeyaXx How about swimming on the surface.

  • @xXprincessxPeyaXx Swimming on the surface?

  • This isn't horrible its like scoobydoo and the other Old cartoon's retro but good :D

  • J. Jonah Jameson has a Hitler Mustash.

  • @KevlarNinja Yes, i noticed that. Stan Lee (Leiber) is Jewish may explain this.

  • i really do like this show. its from the 60's. but its more organized and has more of an interesting plot! everything goes together. story/plot/art.

the 90's spider man on FoxTV kind of sucks because alot of times you didnt know what the hell was going on and too much was going onAt once.

  • jay jonah jameson looks like hitler

  • You don't have a chance Spiderman! Try my Mind Meld!

  • I love JJJ's reaction when Spiderman proves him wrong.

    "I'LL RETRACT EVERYTHING I'VE SAID....HELLLLLP!!" LOL.

  • Best superhero voice of all time...

  • fuck you

  • lmao 1:45 "i think ill go for a nice long swim........under water"

  • Terrific

  • I THINK I'LL GO FOR A NICE LONG SWIM

    UNDERWATER

  • @DrGenericMan rofl

  • mysterio needs boxing lessons.he missed every time.spidey kicked dat azz!!! lol

  • No other cartoon or television show for that matter has ever had a better soundtrack.

  • So...if JJ actually paid Mysterio to get rid of Spidey...wouldn't JJ have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder???

  • @Kennystarfighter59 --Yes, it seems every other poster notes that. Look for a goof later on when Beck is unmasked; his hair is grey in the second half when it was dark early on. Also, why did the animators draw a vertical line down his head? It looks like a talking butt. Look also for a Green Goblin mask in the clutter backstage.

  • why does the spider on his back hav 6 legs

  • awesome as ever

  • This episode is just like the original comic!!!

  • This is one of the best episodes of the best Spiderman cartoon series ever created. The music really adds another dimension to this cartoon.

  • Great episode!!! I especially love the music during the battle scene on the bridge. In fact, Im currently learning it on my guitar right now woo hoo!!!!!

  • 4:35 Lol Mysterio didn't see that gigantic "handy dandy pocket tape recorder"?

  • ZINGO TERROR OF THE TRAIL!!! That's funny.

  • lol 3:16 wait a sec and JJ is smiling! lol

  • ..the latest versions. All it needs is a few changes, like a swirling cloud inside the head and not a voice oscillation wave.

Lots of action, Bridge, water, Jameson confronting his fears in the rubber room and kidnapped by Mysterio, saved by Spider man etc..

Mysterio, like the Boba Fett character, will never reveal his true identity, is from another realm (time fold) and for a short while intrudes on a very young (kid) Peter's life (flashback) via a vortex that was made by Doc Octopus.

  • You want to make money in 4?

Donot include the Mary Jane or May parker characters.

Its probably too late, but you should've introduced Mysterio in the next film. With the last movie's attempt at clearing Peter of his Uncle's death, I was waiting for Darth Vadar to appear to tell him he was Pete's Uncle, you might as well go with Mysterio. Seriously though, Boba Fett has a large fan base, and this Mysterio could pick up on that. This type of Mysterio as seen in the "Menace" and not..

  • Is That Cowboy Sposed To Be John Wayne?

  • handy dandy pocket tape recorder i learned that in boy scouts

  • cool, i used to watch this cartoon as a kid growing up in Brazil, now its the first time I watch it in the original english audio version

  • doesn't make sense how Mysterio can fight Spider-Man hand to hand, but still an entertaining episode.

  • did mysterio agree to fight spiderman for a dollar O_O just wondering wouldnt the deal be off since jonas ripe the other half lol well unless he tapes it back i guess

  • @xxxEmoRinsxxx That scene ALWAYS kills me! Who storyboarded that one? That's not how you SPLIT the money, idiot!!

  • I totally agree!!!! Gantry and Lawerence did the first season, and they had a great story line, fast paced action, classic villians, and cool background music. When they went bankrupt, Baski did the second and third season, and, like you said, outside of a handful of episodes, his series was TOTALLY CRAP!!!! I hated how he always had the swoosh sound every time Spidey was swinging, and his animation, along with the storyline, was a piece of shit!!

  • 3:51 to 3:58

    Who'da thunk it?!

  • Comment removed

  • doesn't Mysterio look like SPOCK?? from star treck? lol

  • such horrible voice acting tsk tsk tsk

  • if i was born in 1960 i probably would have watched that all the time :D

  • Best Spider-Man series ever.

  • is it just me or does spidermans voice sound suspiciously adam west like?

  • @WallKenshiro

Yup. The 1960s was a cool period to be campy/corny. I'd trade today's crappy cartoons with the cartoons of the 1960s.

  • This cartoon OWNZ!!

(Mysterio's face looks like an ass btw)

    BUT THIS STILL OWNZ!

  • "Now thats what i call using the old head." -Spider man <Rofl!

  • "gas but my mask will protect me." "not from my powerful chemical spray!"

  • 7:25 "You'll pay for this Spiderman! RIGHT NOW!" *Duck* -BAM!-

  • Cancel all my appointments, even the ones I don't have!

  • "Right now, I think I'll go for a nice, long swim........UNDERWATER."

  • spider-man clocked mysterio like 4 times!!! kicked dat ass!!!!

  • 60's spiderman rulse

He's kind of like sean connery james bond with all

the quirky 'one liners' when he get the uper hand on masterio.

  • " Not quiet Weirdo!" lol

  • The animation is what it is, and I know they had very little money - but man, the music in this cartoon is great. Always loved the tune that starts at 1:12.

  • thanks for showing that it was awesome

  • they didn't create his symbiote yet

  • is venom in this show

  • Blotto is about the close you're going to get to Venom in the 60's Spidey toons

  • Blotto scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.

  • which ep.?

  • This show was created in the 60s. Venom first appeared in the 80s.

  • only problem i have with this show is the sound effects

  • i ALLWAYS watch this baked out of my mind.

    best show EVER.

  • the barroom brawl is a classic fight.

  • I agree , staged perfectly

  • Both the tape recorder and mask must be incredibly compact for Spider Man to have stuffed them doen his tights. Aweome! Also agree withearlier postings. The music is ace.

  • Is he Spiderman or Aquaman? That was a pretty amazing Michael Phelps he did underwater from the GW to the pier. But he is the Amazing Spiderman!

  • when was scooby doo started?

it's pretty much the same style of animation.

pardon me, if i'm totally wrong.

  • This show came out in 1966. Scooby Doo came out in 1969.

  • @TeddyBeer07

Nope. Spiderman came out in 1967. 1966 was the Marvel Superheroes: Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor and Sub Mariner.

  • Compared to some shows nowadays, this show is still pretty good for a 60s show. This show is also alot better than that MTV Spider-man show from 2003, where no one had any personality. This is also an example that animation and drawing isn't everything for shows, because that crappy MTV show was CGI, and this one is better despite being 60s animation.

  • @MrDirector786, agreed, I watched the 2003 CGI show, and... I lost interest on it in the first 2 minutes, this show on the other hand, when I first watched it (origin of Spider-Man on the Spider-Man 90's cartoon DVD) I loved it, I couldn't get enough, this is my second favorite Spider-Man show (with my favorite being the 90's show).

  • during the final showdown in the tv studio, the cast & crew are making a western. The 60s were a time when Westerns were aplenty on broadcast tv ie Gunsmoke, Big Valley

  • Marvelous music! The creators really took their work seriously, and it deeply inspired little tykes like myself, lying in front of the TV, just drinking in the thrill of crescendo, adventure and possibility musically impressed into our young hearts.

These scenes look just like they had for 30 years in my mind. Zingo, Adelaide, Jameson ("But nothing!"), Betty ("They must have been born under the same sign!"), the great Spiderman-Mysterio showdown ("Thanks for telling me WHO YOU ARE!")

  • mysterio only got one bill like $100?

  • I love the jazz score and great theme song used for the '67 show. Nice touch!

  • Ok,you clearly never read the original Lee/Ditko comics from the 60s,which is what this Spider-Man cartoon is based on. the 90s one is good but this one is miles more fun. I seem to recall the 80s version having huge story arcs that were overblown. At least the 60s version has more self-contained stories. Plus, how can you NOT like the jazzy music!?!

  • I'm sorry but you sound like I did when I was a kid collecting old comics. I told the owner of the comic store that I thought Steve Ditko's drawings sucked compared to the "newer" versions of Spiderman..he flat out said "you're crazy"..and.."it's a comic book..not live photography...go read Ditko's Spidey & try to enjoy the Comic Book sureal-ness of Ditko". I went home...read them late at night, and I finally got what he meant. The same goes for the 67 series when compared to the 94 series.

  • And I also agree with kylechicago...How can anyone not like the Jazzy Music....the 67' series along with the original comics is what made Spiderman....just the theme song alone is CLASSIC......yep, "does whatever a spider can!"

  • that tape recorder was a very compact model for 1967 considering tape recorders were still kind of new in the 1960s

  • awesome! i love marvel!

  • savage

  • you can't keep a super hereo down.this is the best one.packs the attiude of today.with effects from 41 tears ago.

  • This is great TV serie
