Hi, is it optical or digital? I could not see if there was a digital reader in the chain. Also, the cinema processor is a Dolby or Ultra Stereo (or ...)?
Bauer used to market a projector in the late 70's/early 80's that employed a similar principal, only the two 5000' spools were mounted adjacent to one another on the alcing side of the mech.
In the late 70's/early 80's, Bauer actually manufactured a 35mm projector based on a similar idea. The difference was that both spools were mounted side by side on the lacing side of the mech.

Yea, only they used bit different control circuitry with variable auto-transformer and 3ph motor coupled via belt gear to film spool
