I agree with kazla3000, although I did enjoy the movie and found it facinating, I also thought the critique raised some valid points. I would also have liked more of a twist at the end of the movie, I thought that was what the story was leading to, but it ended much more predictably than I was expecting. I liked it enough to start looking up stuff about it after watching it though, which led me to this review. Will check out some more as enjoy the no nonsense approach.

Also, did I miss something in the first story about the blind man making the clock? I mean I understand the symbolism of the clock and Benjamin's life running backwards, but does anyone else thing that that story was totally unnecessary? The movie would have been better without this I think.

Good point Sizzler06. I completely forgot to mention the clock because it played NO ROLE in the story. It doesn't even make sense that Benjamin or Daisy would even know about it, because they never visited it. I was thinking that at some point one of the two would have heard about it and tried to break it to see if that would "cure" Benjamin, but no one could think of a way to make a decent story out of an otherwise promising premise.

I agree with everything you said in your review. I saw this movie about a week ago and still haven't decided whether I like it or not. Almost everything I disliked was mentioned in your review (Daisy telling the story, too much Daisy in general, predictable ending). I also agree about the only humor coming from the lightning guy, and the fantastic special effects. I also really disliked the Louisiana accents.

Because he was born with the mind of a child but then as he grew older and got younger his mind returned back to the state it was when he was born. You would think it would be the other way around. It was a bit long winded to in some parts, buuut apart from that, I enjoyed it =]

I liked this movie. It was kind of like... one of them tales which your grandma tells you at 6 lol. However, I hated how Daisy was retelling the story to us. I didnt think that fitted very well, it just made it predictable. I think they could have done more with the character of Benjamin. He was special, so I think his life should have reflected that. I liked the ending though, had me crying as usual lol, but I think they got a tad confused with the growing old backwards thing...
