Great cars. They can perform with more power if they add superchargers; powerful mufflers and manifolds. Even racing air filters just as if you can do this in Gran Turismo 5 and 6.
My dept just got this new explorer and it's a pretty lame police vehicle. It can't take pillar spot lights because it compromises it's rollover protection abilities...so they mounted a remote controlled light on the hood, which looks stupid and is very slow to rotate... "Oh hey fleeing subject, can you please slow down so my light can catch up to you?" Yeah, i dont think so. The Taurus looks sharp though.
@Bobbo921 lol. and they have the window control! im sure this was just a quick build im sure they will strip em down once they are in mass production.
well I disagree with @dannichls 1 you just need to take a car out into the road to feel how mucho you need the extra 2 cilinders on the engine to do speed recoverys ( just to mention one thing ), and when a police cruiser needs to keep up with a full size V8 pick up truck, and then has to T-bone it with the T manouver and pin it so it wont escape, theres where you miss those 2 extra cilinders, cause yeah, performance is achieven by fine tunning suspension but it cant do without engine torque too
Do not purchase from LED Outfitters, I have been jerked around for over a month They keep telling me it shipped but will not send me a tracking number. Not to mention they guy is a real jerk!!
I am fond of the new Ford police vehicles despite being a Chevy person. The explorer really looks nice to me. The ONLY thing I don't like is the computer. It looks like it is permanently mounted although I may be wrong. I would personally prefer a removable laptop to take out of the vehicle when not in use to do logs and things after a shift instead of sitting even longer in the vehicle to type things. That is litteraly the only thing I don't like though.
Ford has cut off production of the Crown Victoria as of September. Look it up if you'd like. The newer and soon-to-be popular police vehicles are the dodge charger, Ford Interceptor, and Chevrolet Cobalt
the crown Vic was awesome but i agree its time for a change. after serving so long the Crown Vic cant keep up with all the cars that are now being developed.
ha reminds me of the indian cops over her on the tulalip reservation. they get chargers, even though their jurisdiction is really small. shows how much damn money they get. anyways! these are pretty sick.
where is the LION of Judah style agression of the Charger?
Where is the tacticality, order, and command presence of the Tahoe / expedition in all black?
the steering wheel(on the SUV) looks like it belongs in a minivan.
Ford should of learned a lot from the Charger, and added all the benefits of the crown vic and built a whole new sedan - heck, even based on the crown vic chasis would be better than a taurus.
arghh, i sound like such a bitter - hater; but i really dislike this.
@dannichls1 I would disagree, I think the SHO ecoboost 3.5L is plenty power for a cop car. Throw some work into the suspension and make it handle better (I think they already did that though). No use going faster then it already is, you can't outrun the radio.
@99MCougar what i read in a Car n Driver magazine is that only Highway Patrol is going to have the Sho Ecoboost and that city cops are going to have regular Taurus
@83estrada They don't know shit hell our city of only 1,000 people has V8 chargers and I'm sure they'll get the ECOboost police interceptors because they're tired of dodges constant problems mainly the engines and radiators
Hell yeah they do. I'd definitely buy one. I still don't understand why Ford stopped building the Crown Vic's because pretty much all the police departments used them, and a lot of people owned them. My aunt and uncle love their Crown Vic.
@dannichls1 If they use the new lincoln platform then HELL yes! :D
Ive owned 3 police platforms, a 1999 Crown victoria, leased the tahoe, and was running a 2007 Dodge Charger. Of all, the crown was probably my favorite. Probably because it is so iconic as a police vehicle. The Charger was 2nd because people usually had NO clue untill the flew up behind me a got closer.
@dannichls1 hell no they dont lol...i dont wanna actually get caught in my fwd civic ivtec wen im doing 55 in a 45 zone haha gosh cuz uk them hondas are super fast lol
@dannichls1 the old crown vic had a 4.6 L v8 which could easily be suspercharged (not that the police wanted to supercharge the car) the shelby has a 5.4 liter engine- when you think about the reason they are replacing the police interceptor in the first place- it's for safety and fuel economy- not speed- so unfourtunately the new police interceptor wont be a shelby-
My 3 yr old was diggin this video. Well done.
