I have the Japanese movie 2 disc special edition which came with a piece of film. I got The scene with Gendou's hands crossed in front of his face. Also I just recently imported 2.22 from Japan. Was great to watch. I prefer to watch these in the orignal Japanese Format. I kinda already know whats going since I've seen the orignal series. Also I wonder how the last 2 are going finish things off again. Thats right there are four movies in the remake.

1.11 fixes the darkness issues in 1.01, and it has like...a minute of extra footage.

I would recommend buying 1.11 instead of 1.01 simply because of how dark 1.01 is.

During the original series, though, there were parts were Shinji looked like he was getting his head on straight and then his mind gets snapped. yes and no, it's more like an update. For the most part their just cleaning up the animation and sound, bringing it up to modern standards.

But there is a possibility that they may remake the ending. Evangelion was considered one of the best animes of it's generation, but was also considered to have one of the worst endings of it's generation.
