I agree with ya aggronorz my buddy has the same guitar just not the nice version his is stock tuners Floyd copy and a bolt on neck and he still sets it up right to whatever tuning he wants and that's because....... he is not a dumb ass lol

Which amp do you use? Because I have the same guitar but I have a little fear with the peavey vypyr tube, exactly maybe having all the channels sounding too crunch. At least in my line 6 spider IV 30w it happens always.

And I'll have change the standard pickups too some with less gain if it sounds too crunchy with modeller amps.

I think emgs have a more crunchy sound and blackouts have a more defined sound

Might but EMG's in, the blackouts you put in sound amazing, but I'm stubborn and like my 85/81's :P
