  • DUBSTEP HAS BEEN RUINED IVE STOPPED LISTENING TO IT NOW THIS SONG TAKES ME BACK TO WHEN IT WAS REAAAL SHIT

  • @rickycoates Welcome back. Just do what i do and stick with th sounds produced between 2004-2007.

If you want to hear a really good album go listen to or buy 'Scientist Launches Dubstep Into Outer Space." For an album made in 2010 it'll fuck amaze you.

  • Dubstep is defined by: tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocal(wiki). So technically, you should just stfu when it come to this.. Skrillex have made dubstep, skream, benga, cookie monster, borgore, coki etc. So dont even start discussing dubstep. Dubstep is defined by certain elements in the music, not by opinion.

  • yo, sorry for my user, this time I'm not trolling. I've been listening to dubstep from since i was like seven years old, i don't think it's about age, i think it's about what the media advertises and about the lil kids who hear some kind of drop on a Florida song and think they know everything...

    PS: I'm 14

  • can't listen to a dubstep tune without some fools in the comments arguing, so annoying

  • @seanbharper Stop reading the comments then? oO

  • @mikecrevil i wasn't really thinking of it like that, just wish people could appreciate a great tune without sparking an argument

  • @seanbharper I hear ya. The dubstep scene is really messed up. Everyone is comparing everyone with everyone, so sad, really. They even compare the incomparable which I honestly don't get. It is also IMPOSSIBLE to find a tune these days where you don't see the name of Skrillex.

  • Dubstep was supposed do be dark and gritty and somehow soothing and ambient.

And if I'm not mistaken, this song is what dubstep should be.

  • blah blah blah, pussies.

  • although in my opinion, using my bass horn tuned to 25hz and able to output 125db, this sounds far beter that skrillex because the base flows right down to the lowest my sub an do

only skrillex song that was any good was scatta, and thats only because of foregrn beggas

  • SHRILLEX IS ALRIGHT, NOT REALLY LIKE THIS SO DONT COMPARE, BIT OVER HYPED IN MY OPINION, JUST A PHAD SOUND THAT WILL GET BORING, SAME AS RUSKO'S SOUND GOT BORING, I LIKE VARIATION

  • I hate it when people talk about dubstep like they know what theyre saying ... not really safe to put "pro" input if you don't know your history.. That's why I'm in the clear zone cause I'm only new to it and I'm stepping down and admitting I don't know shit xD

  • LOL why does every fucking dubstep video have mugs chirpin about skrillex?? Dubstep was kept underground for a reason...

  • @Fjord420 hold tight rude boy

  • Distance didn't base anything on any one band, he has a lot of bands & genres as influences, in one interview he even said he use to be in a metal band. If you've ever watched him on GetDarkerTV they always chat about him starting off in a local metal band & then shifting to dubstep. Me personally wouldn't compare Distance to Skrillex, or even relate them, completely different sound.

  • @VileVince1 true man true

  • Nice!! Now I know what I'm going to listen for the rest of the week

  • can we not talk about anything else besides how amazing this song is?

  • Why is there talk of strillex on here. This shit is way better then them.

  • @xXhighwolfXx stop trolling

  • @harrietdubman well honestly to me im not a strillex fan. i shouldn't say they're bad, cause there are lots of people who like strillex

  • Comment removed

  • @xXhighwolfXx its skrillex not strillex, the k and t buttons arent even near each other

  • @Baynham3 eh what ever lol.

  • @Baynham3 Fuck skrillex. Mainstream fanboys only like dubstep because of him. And they don't even know that Dubstep has existed for alot of fucking years in the underground, it had better quality control in the underground. Mainstream Dubstep lacks a certain spiritual soul. So excuse me... FUCK YOU FANBOY!

  • @EugenicsOfAfricadont even try tellin me about dubstep, i was listenin to it when you were listening to spice girls... like benga, skream, d1, kromestar, pinch and shit going so far back you probly havent even heard of. id be the first to say that oldschool dubstep is better but that doesnt mean there arent some good new dubstep artists like 16 bit, rusko, emalkay, nero, flux, and skrillex even had a few ok tunes... your just trying to look cool by saying new dub is shit... im never a fanboy

  • @EugenicsOfAfrica people like mainstream dubstep because it meshes more with other popular genres not just because they heard a popular name... idiot

  • @IGetHighOnJesus Nope.avi. Most people these days usually kids 16 and under only listen to dubstep due to popular names they've heard; such as Skrillex, Datsik, Flux Pavillion. (Don't get me wrong some of their songs are ok) but you know most of these kids never heard of Distance, Rusko, Benga or others.

  • @ll562kiidll are you fucking joking lmao rusko is proberbly 1 of if not the most popular name in dubstep/brostep

  • @ll562kiidll tbh apart from distance all those names fit into the mainstream element, bengas the only mainstream producers whos kept his own style techno based, you would have a point if you mentioned such artist as kromestar, loefah, digital mystikz and the rest of tempa and dmz artist but i like the fact brostep has a shitty crowd the real crowds at the new sounds comign from j kenzo, spmc, icicle, compa and many more

  • @ll562kiidll Liquid Stranger and Burial

  • @ll562kiidll One of the first dubstep songs i heard was a skream song. (Benga also) OFF OF YOUTUBE. So it's not like dubstep is hidden or anything. Searching dubstep on youtube not to long ago didn't give you the results with brostep and stuff, people like skream was on top. Whatever. And your not gonna let young people listen to this? Are you going to take it to your grave?

  • @xXhighwolfXx Them? Skrillex is one person...

  • @rokmanfilms

lol i think its funny how so many people say that.

  • This is quite beautiful actually. Really nice dubstep.

I'd say Skrillex is electro-dubstep. Skrillex is different that's all. Distance is in Getdarker tv tonight! Playing garage thou!

  • @clearviewmind Yeah Skrillex is basically electro house with a wobble bass.

  • Skrillex is drawn by MVMNT (the best Dubstep artist I think)

So he must be a dubstep artist

  • @DJBmu5ic lol man Skrillex is good, he made some good song blabla but do not overestimate him

there are plenty of other dj who make really good music but you haven.t heard of them or tried to listen

  • @vladshter Skrillex has just hitten the favor of the community

  • Comment removed

  • @MrMauerkind i think you need to be "hitten" up a dictionary heyoooo

  • dubstep is originally based on jazz or dub and dub isn't short for dubstep it's a genre on it's own, skrillex is based on metal and indeed sucks. the "real" dubstep artists: kromestar, skream, benga, ...

  • @bebbo45 Totes.

  • @bebbo45 Unfortunately for you, Distance lists Korn as one of his major influences. You're also missing a few other big hitters in your list of artists: DMZ? Loe? Anyone on the original Warrior Dubz compilation helped it break through.

Anyways man, no insults, just adding on to your list :)

  • Skrillex is based on metal but guess what. SO WAS DISTANCE, He said it himself that his main inspiration for his music was KORN lol

  • @JoBananas thats just it though. Distance was based on Korn, Skrillex was based off of From First To Last, and that sucked. Correlation? Yes.

  • Can anybody explain me why do you hate Skrillex?

Im from spain and i dont understand that kind of things because i dont know why are they caused...

  • @MrGrimgraff Because, Dubstep when it was made was meant to be like this, dark and cold, and ambient and soft, but when Skrillex started making it and calling it dubstep when it wasn't so that made dubstep fans angry.

  • I love this guy.

  • dark and brooding <3

  • Incredible tune. Most unique dubstep artist coming from metal/rock roots. This man shows us why it's good to have variety in music taste. However, nothing's good about the taste of runny dog shit skrillex

  • This is why I like dubstep!

  • Holy shit there's a BoC sample in this! From "Statue of LIberty" @ 1:12

  • oh who cares with all these genre names its ridiculous dub is almost as bad as hardcore haha. metalcore screamcore mathcore deathcore dub dubstep dub3 who cares just listen to it and stop trying to hard to classify something someone tried really hard to make original and somewhat unclassifiable.

  • @Tmstark90 You have a point but I really don't think you (and millions of others since dubstep went mainstream it seems) understand how different dub and dubstep are. One was invented in 1960s Jamaica as instrumental reggae b-sides and the other was invented in London in the early 2000s as an darker offshoot of garage. Dubstep merely takes inspiration from dub. So no, it isn't the same as different kinds of hardcore.

  • The moment I heard this as the intro to Distance's spot on Dubstep Warz back in 06, I knew I was in love with dubstep. Reminds me of dark cold winter commutes through London. Perfect Underground Music.

  • @automat3000 Bro, it was the same for me too. I never even heard of distance till i heard that dubstep warz.

  • Why are people even talking about Skrillex? All you upset people need to take your hate elsewhere, while we enjoy this sick track.

  • @Zhacker212 Amen.

  • masterpiece

  • They should get Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park, and Pete Loeffler from Chevelle together to make a track with Distance! Similar to how Korn and Skrillex did Get Up, but way better.

  • @MoveFast319 Blasphemy.

  • @MoveFast319 if i took a shit in a egg cup and teach it to make dubstep it would come up with something alot better than skrillex

  • @CrysusDub THANK YOU! for that comment! :D

  • @totalbliss777 your welcome =D

  • @MoveFast319 Skrillex is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo shit. Hes the justan bebier of dubstep(fagstep)

  • @jaronsteenson hes more electro influenced then roots reggae its not really my type or yours from what i can tell but that do-sent make it bad.

  • @jaronsteenson Skrillex has 1 good song.

  • @MoveFast319 what song? and no he doesnt

  • @jaronsteenson Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites is good. Other than that the rest sound all too Emo or something. Still getting it is alright, but Skrillex isn't alone on that one.

  • @MoveFast319 lol you say the most emo song is his best..

  • @TheIlluminatiSupport I think there are other songs more emo than that! It is his most popular song though.

  • @MoveFast319 nope he doesn't. fuck skrillex

  • @trashbomber666 yea FUCK skrillex

  • @Cur734 You said it wrong, It's Shitllex D:

  • He should work with Burial, would be the sickest combination ever.

  • @GarenDJ Actually, I think he and bassnectar would be a great combo!

  • @MoveFast319 no.

  • I feel so scared, dark, despaired and alone....

    awesome ^_^

  • All this started in England 1998, we did something right.

  • You know, I thought dubstep was boring because of the WOB WOB WOOOOOB which annoyed me. So I decided to look up old school dubstep, since old school is usually way different, sometimes better then new school electronic music, and this, I like this. No wobbles. Maybe I do like dubstep?

  • @RukiKatiakicz then you must like the 'WUBz'

  • @RukiKatiakicz Dubstep doesnt = Wobbles, look way back into the roots coming from reggae, dub and garage you'll find alot of amazing stuff

  • @ultimatesanction Could you recommend some artists and songs that are like that? the kind that came from reggae dub and garage? I like that kind of dubstep, and that seems to be the earlier kind. id appreciate it

    thanks

  • @systemfighter220 Mala, Coki & Loefah of Digital Mistikz are always a good start all unique and amazing as a collective, some of skreams old stuff the album 'Skream!' is wicked not very roots of dub style but good vibes, some earlier kromestar, not his later stuff its very different now, some early benga has awesome newdub feel. i mean i got into dubstep just as rusko came onto the scene back when no one knew who he was so i started with rusko caspa benga skream

  • @ultimatesanction Thank you, ive been listening to those and i like what i hear

  • if someone asked me: "what is dubstep?" i would show them this song

  • @mcsheetzhead I would show them a variety of different dubstep songs. Brostep's still dubstep, keep that in mind.

  • @mcsheetzhead If someone asked me that i would rip out their eyes and balls and put their balls in their eye sockets and eyes in their ball sack.

  • amazing dark relaxing sound!

  • Don't be a dick head all you life my dad said one .....give the chance to others to shine as bigger dick heads than you are and that somehow will give you a great sense of satisfaction that you have achieved something in you life and that you are not the only one.

  • Cartoon Head brought me here.

  • @MidnaZ are you joking, his work shits on theirs, him and Plastician started this shit. Don't get me wrong I like all the new stuff, but this was the greatest sound of dubstep before all the overdone, WUBWUBWUBWUBWUBWUBWUWUBB WEEEEEEERRRRRR WYUB WUBBWUBWUBWUBWUBWUBWUB BULLSHIT

  • @TeddyGrahamUSMC i know this is like early dubstep wich was called just dub atleast thats what i think im like 3years into the dubscene but dont get me wrong i like distance en plastician alot

  • @MidnaZ dub has a reggea sort of influence

  • @DetzkyUK Yeah.. Dub is from Jamaica.

  • @SuperiFox Im glad that I see some1 who knows differences between dub and dubstep 3:

  • @MidnaZ ?? 3 years and you still don't have any idea what dub is? Dub was inventented in the 50's in jamaica, man..

  • @Reptillo um try the 80s... ska and roots reggae emerged during the 50s-70s.

  • @Reptillo dude i know tthat omg...

  • @MidnaZ go look up Lee Perry. That is dub.

  • @MidnaZ n00b

  • @TeddyGrahamUSMC I want to like you comment a billion times!!! <3

  • @Danjldub

I suppose @URKDUB is just referring to this track. It's dark, certainly, but does feel a bit "chill" since it's very simple (which is nice.) Compare it to something like Kryptic Minds - Stepping Stone, they're similar tunes.

  • @BreakTheYagura Thank you.

  • @Danjldub Your acting like what I said was suppose to be offensive, and you can't tell me this isn't chill.

  • Lol

  • This is decent. It could benefit greatly from lyrics though.

  • @TheTroubadourPariah How about no you humongous faggot

  • @Michael8696Angel Well i welcome you to eargasmic music..

  • @Michael8696Angel That made me cringe. Emostep?

  • @yumadfoh

  • @yumadfoh That comment made me cringe ad for some reason dubstep don't so I can say that your comment is inappropriate

  • @StarD2TwinFlames This is how children get abducted , next he's gunna ask if you wana hang out. Next thing you know he's tickling your balls while holding a cloriphorm induced rag over your mouth.

  • @FrolicEpidemic speaking from experience?

  • @FrolicEpidemic ha ha excellent!

  • what an amazing song. if you think so too, lets be friends.

  • no drop? :)

  • @iwillcommitdeicide no need for drops, just the bass has to be heavy!

  • Velvet Acid Christ & Distance could join up and do a very amazing dark/scary/mind fucking song.

  • @laurelandhardytv i love you for this comment btw

  • Turn it up, spark it up, hit it, (pause)....hit it, pass it, zoooone out

  • Stop arguing over what dubstep is. This a massive oldschool distance tune. Just enjoy the music man..

  • @GoldNCase ur a fuckn goof go kill urself. wobbles have notrhing to do with dubstep. wobbles are just a generic filler that little fags think that if somthing has "wubwub"than its dubstep. get off the bandwagon and go suck some gweedo fags dick. and btw spraying about u blazing on youtube comments wont make u liked by the world it shows that ur a little 14 yr old. • And so goes the first cut by Distance and his famous contribution to Dubstep Wars and the breaker of much dubstep, Mary Anne Hobbs.

  • @DjWellDressedMan I first heard dubstep warz about 3 weeks ago. When this song came on, I fell in love.

  • my mantra, this goes deep.

  • When I hear this song it makes me wanna be speeding in sick sports car down the freeway at like 4am with this blasting
