i love guitars though i do not know anything about it except the great sound it makes! you rock! i love your music but no biting next time please (haha that was funny!) i enjoyed as much you do man! thumbs up!!!!!!!!
@iamgoddard thank ya. I never really listened much to zappa. I have heard only a few things by him so if there's some zappa in there well, he stole it from me! hahahhaha
@TeesByTruthSurge Easy there old man. Do you treat all your guest like this? I dont know any Dennis, sorry. But if I did chose to fuck with you, there isnt a damn thing you can do about it. Its the internet pops. Whoever he is, hes right, you are a dick!
@goodluck2ya Nice try, Dennis. Your sock acct is now blocked as well. I will be contacting an attorney Monday. My own personal advice is to quit digging yourself a deeper hole and stop harassing me.
@hackenbollox I'm a big Satch fan. I was playing that stuff when I guess his 2nd album came out. I think that was the surfing one. Satch, VH, Ace Frehley, Ted Nugent, Randy Rhodes, Tom Scholtz, Malmsteen, Tony MacAlpine, Steve Vai, I copied all those cats learning to play. A few times I'm stumped due to speed or just hard technique but I got pretty close most of the time. thank ye
Ah, I'm a fan as well. Also a pro producer, with very keen ears. I can see the influence of all those guys in your playing, although the most obvious bits were some of the intervals, which were Satch to a tee, with a little Vai thrown in for bad measure (lol). Excellent stuff.
@hackenbollox I appreciate the feedback and compliment but I am at about 80% due to fingertip injuries. I am pressing really lightly and often use fingernails of fret hand AND almost never bar w/index. Crippled somewhat you might say. IOW, I could do better but I'd have to go back 12 years. :)
That's ok. I did an album of tunes in late 94 and they can't take that from me!
Yeah, the lydian mode was defin vai and satch. that Emaj to Dmaj stuff. Dmaj with sharp 4. what do u produce?
@hackenbollox or , WHO do you produce? I dabble in audio. I consider my ears my most important thing (or the ear/brain really). I was always big into getting good tones even tho i had really semi-pro stuff.
@hackenbollox yep. I say the only thing that really separates me from Vai or anyone is my mind. we both have guitars, fingers, amps but he has his mind and i have mine. But a very small percentage of difference can come from the hands as some have longer fingers, bigger bones, etc. Hendrix had large hands so he was able to just grab the neck and do all his chords.
@pakleglia some cultures work hard. some hardly work. I won't get into any of that because it's a lost cause at this point. so, 10 people might be able to actually do the work of 20 in some areas. I'd like to know what these high paid execs really do besides go to meetings and pretend to organize everyone else.
OK, THAT GUITAR WITH ALL THE PROBLEMS SOUNDS FINE TO ME??? WAIT!!! YOU SLAPPED SOME STRINGS ON IT AND ARE PLAYING IT INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING. YUP! THAT WILL DO IT EVERY TIME. NOW, IF YOU COULD JUST QUIT BEING A DICK! LMAO.
@42lynchmob WAIT!!! I SPENT DAYS REWORKING THE FRETJOB YOU DID THAT I HAD TO RESHIP TO YOU TO CORRECT AND IT STILL WASN'T RIGHT. AND IT STILL IS UNEVEN. AND I DIDN'T HIGHLIGHT THE BAD FRETS WITH A SPOTLIGHT IN THIS VID TO SHOW THE WORLD HOW THEY BUZZ AND FRET OUT.
NOW IF YOU COULD JUST QUIT ACTING LIKE A 3RD GRADER AND SIMPLY LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE. LMAO.
@TruthSurge You dont need a spotlight to show the world a fret that does not work properly. You can here them if something isn't right. Just going by the video, it sounds pretty damn good. You nailed about every fret and it sounded clear. Your actually pretty good. So, what the problem is?
@pakleglia man... so many people are getting insanely rich off of the average person. I see these news blurbs on yahoo constantly about rich this and most expensive that and it's all geared (for some reason) toward millionaires. not sure what is going on but it is definitely done on purpose for some reason. 150 million dollar home! fuck you.
Hey T...I envy you....very nice! I could always emulate, but never create. Keyboards was my forte years ago....as soon as nailed "Excerpts from the six wives of Henry the VIII" (Rick Wakeman) I stopped playing. I do not know why. I just lost the passion somehow. You are very talented man, my friend. -Salad
@FishHeadSalad thank you! Well, I spent TONS of time just copying songs by other people. So, I had a really good ear and then I entered the "what the hell am I playing?" phase where I wasn't happy just putting a finger here and wanted to know the WHYS of it and that helped me figure out where stuff was on the neck and how to put stuff together and make it sound good. But i didn't get to play professionally much due to good ole mom discouraging me from it. :( Get a keyboard and play!
@pakleglia I have no kids and won't at this stage being 48. So, my genes die with me. BUT, maybe some of my stories and vids will live on for a while if I get off me arse and throw them out there for all to enjoy for FREE. yes, i'm over this commerce bullshit survival of the richest. I have nothing so I plan to put everything I do out there for free personal enjoyment. Just costs $ to do that even and time to organize it. But it will be my way of telling the greedy to suck my ass. :)
@pakleglia well, I just call it waking up to reality. hehe as kids, we simply didn't know how screwed up the world really was. Now, it frightens me and pisses me off too. At least he made $ being grumpy and negative. hehehe wadda we get for it????? damn it. we deserve something. hehe
@pakleglia yeah but it will only morph into something as stupid BECAUSE every day, women are pumping out the next generation of marketing targets. The next generation of people produce. Human cattle. I think most real people and real artists know each other and gravitate toward each other. we desire balls and a real curveball and not just watered down cabbage soup every day.
LadyGagme... a nobody who should have remained a nobody.
@pakleglia well, yeah, it was just the first "live" vid that came up. I honestly never knew any of them ref looks or vids. I remember a few tunes from my guitar teaching days. lots of alternative stuff ala Cobain (sp?) then the stuff became more poop oh, pop and commercial. I never really followed it. my students would ask to learn stuff so I heard it that way.
@pakleglia i just watched a live vid by them. Just jeans and t-shirts. rather handsome jesus-looking chap. he sang really well on that how you remind me tune.
@pakleglia nah, mon. it was similar to whole tone. but notice I play 4 notes per string and slide the 4th with pinky. so, on one string I get the half-whole-half then I go up a string (oops down) and do another one one fret down. i stopped on the last one b4 the slide and went back and forth. It's weird how you can throw in nonsense like that and almost sound like you know what you are doing. HAHAHAHHA same for that fast pick one at 5:50. total physics w/o regard to scale.
@pakleglia that isn't whole tones. It's actually a diminished scale. half step, whole, half step, whole, half step, whole repeat forever. ALMOST whole tone but swapping the half step in between each time. it really gives a anice out of key sound that isn't just a dim 7 arp like you hear Malmsteen do a lot. Augmented and whole tones are cool too. I just didn't do any! hahhaha I couldn't think. man, red light syndrome. thank ya!
@pakleglia oh, if my thumb was normal (not fucked up like it is for 11 years) I would bring it into the classical position and press on the back like normal. I assume that shape BUT I do not press with my thumb. it is still hanging in mid air. I have just gotten used to doing it but I'd like to someday play NORMALLY again so I can do bar chords (which I avoid mostly for the thumb and index problem). You have to rotate the hand to do some chords and long stretches.
@CBTENGR100 thanks. ibanez tone blaster amp (just a practice amp for $100). no effects except I add them later inside my editor (reaper). I would like to buy a distortion box again. Would give me at least some tone options I don't have now. Well, I'd love to spend $10,000 and buy the best hahahah.
scalloping... it's different, for sure. no, i do not press hard on the strings and no, my pressure doesn't make them go sharp. you'd have to press really hard to do that and I don't.
@ozmoroid hehehehe funny, man. you mean that G and B string shifting back and forth? weird how I played this stuff and didn't plan it but I was able, for the most part, to keep it all in time. Some nice surprises happen when you ad lib. thank ya
@AnglicanApologist72 not really. I did have that urge to attack years ago but that sort of wanes and is replaced by a more I'm over it now feeling and the ress vid I do will be just me stating all the reasons I find the claim to be unbelievable. NOT believable. not hard to believe but simply not believable. It won't be footnoted like a scholar would but it will all be verifiable info anyone can find online or in a library.
@AnglicanApologist72 I actually thought of a funny title. The Hysterical Evidence for the Ressurection but then decided it might give a signal that I was only out to pwn and had nothing in my gun but blanks. :)
Yeah, as for pwning... I try to keep a sort of teacherly approach to my serious vids like the JM series and such. I do the funny stuff but I try to not pwn because I actually would like SOME christians to at least see part of what I'm saying. even tho.... the title will preclude most of them right off the bat.
@AnglicanApologist72 If you remain convinced of anywhere from a Jesus was just a man who points us to god up to he was god in flesh and the bible is all true, it's still your belief as long as you really believe it. and beliefs can change over time as new evidence is discovered. The Internet plays a small role in my discoveries but I used Logos software mostly back then and read a physical Bible. I spent probably 6 years of study b4 I deconverted. so, it happens.
@AnglicanApologist72 If you can force yourself to walk up to the edge of the pit and look over into it AND keep your eyes open, you will have done more than most Christians. Fear is what keeps most people where they are. fear of losing what they have. fear of change. You have lots of time to study these things. I didn't deconvert until I was about 35 years old. If you eventually come to where you cannot believe even a basic gospel story, then that is fine. It will be your belief.
@AnglicanApologist72 Well, that's just it. Whatever my vid series ends up showing will STILL be less evidence than there actually is against it. I just can't turn it into a year long affair. I got other stuff I want to try doing. music, stories, t-shirts hehehe. but my approach will be broader than Ehrman's because he will not be using the angles I will. I DO mention the JM theory in it but Idon't rely on it. I just show how the evidence lines up with it here and there.
@AnglicanApologist72 I will not say a ress is impossible. I will say it is extremely unlikely based on all we know in our modern era. I also will argue that there are better explanations for a ress belief AND better explanations for the content of the gospels than that 4 anonymous authors were relaying history. :) just wait. you will go HOLY CRAP! I did not KNOW that!!! hahahhaha
@AnglicanApologist72 Ehrman's treatment of the mss is extremely fair handed. He makes a point not to claim that the gospels are fictional or a hoax but he simply states the facts. It's a good book.
@AnglicanApologist72 well, i HOPE to finish my vid b4 you dig into your "who is jesus" vids because I think you need to see what I got up my sleeve first. :) Some of it is going to blow your mind and probably lots of other people's minds. I spent 2 hrs on it tonight at my dad's just rereading it, editing, adding, rewriting, ... it's almost 30 pages long right now. I'm not going to cover the contradictions between the gospels but I will cover briefly those of the post ress accts.

@IllPropaganda sort of throwin it down. hehehe hard to pull stuff out of your head while you are playing it. but that's the fun and challenge of ad lib. thank ye
@AnglicanApologist72 Are you planning to review Wright's book in a vid? that'd prob be interesting. have you watched Ehrman's debate with Craig on the resurrection? He basically takes the approach I will. The gospels and acts are not remotely reliable and therefore make a poor foundation for a resurrection claim. but, it is up to me to show just how unreliable they are before anyone buys THAT claim. :) holla atcheeeeee
@bonnie43uk well, when you repeate a groove over and over, it does sound a tad like the old porno tracks. But my solos are better. :) hahahhah I've heard that guy but can't recall. YT search to the rescue......... thank ya!
@bonnie43uk holy cow! it's jesus on les paul guitar! hahahahha man, he was doing some good licks. i especially liked the intro to hurdy gurdy man. very nirvana take our time feel. music on radio sucks because the media and corporations have squished everyone's time and $ so everyone has no attention spans or patience. Extended jams don't happen on radio much anymore.
@Dwicker64 I'm just a tool for the dark one's pleasure. HEHEHEHHE thanks ! 30 years of playing ... I should have at least have a clue! haha but 10 years of not playing slowed me up. i'm just thrilled to even be able toplay now even at 80%.
@TruthSurge Man your playing is killer! I hope the new frets really made a difference. I thought about scalloping mine, but man I just don't have the finesse to do it. I always love your guitar videos. Great to see you post another!
@MKV1193 thanks! the frets are better but not all level. had some issues with chipping edges and a hump in the heel so I'm having to do lots of extra work (filing the frets etc) to get it playable. It is maybe 90% of where I want it. Frets out in a few places where it just dies and I need to file discreetly to equal that out and once I do that i can lower the strings a touch more. w/o level frets, you cannot get the lowest action.
@TruthSurge The fretwork on my guitar was pretty poor. The frets are too long in some places, and it really hurts my hand to play sometime because it'll cut my hand sometime. Have quite a bit of buzz too. I wanted a dimarzio, but I resorted to getting an EMG just because I figured the pre-amp would cover up the crappiness of the guitar. Which that was somewhat successful. Then again thats what I get for buying something super cheap, but hey gotta start somewhere.
@MKV1193 yeah, it's always something. I used to use EMGs but got tired of worrying if the battery was good and I didn't like the high end hiss. You trade the low end hum for high end hiss. So, i'm back to passive pickups and prefer them really. Every day I play, I get the same sound. no batteries. :)
but yeah, there are good guitars for $250 now UH days. Maybe I'll order some parts and build my dream axe one day. If you're not skeered, get a file and file the fret ends then buff em.
@TruthSurge Yeah I prefer passives too. I got a passive EMG, but I still never really cared for the tone of them. I've played a couple DiMarzio's and I think they all seem to have a classic tone that really sings. I'm not a fan of actives either. I cant get behind using a battery either.
Haha I might try that. I just dont wana mess it up more than it already it. I've been saving up for awhile though. Hopefully I'll get my dream guitar one day too haha.
@MKV1193 if you go slowly and use care, you can do it. it won't be machine perfect but you can file the corners and keep it from cutting you at least. get a mag glass too so you can see what yer doing. one that stands on a stand with a light is perfect. I should get one myself but I'm ....... broke. all my $ goes to bills and so I have to fight the urge to buy stuff I'd like. oh well. sucks to be broke. it just affects everything.
@TruthSurge Yeah im going to see if I can get something like that. I did wire the pickup in by myself, and didn't mess it up. So I'm sure with some TLC I can get things right enough. That sucks man. You should be playing with people like Satch, and Vai. You've really got an awesome tone, and I'd totally buy an album if you made one.
@MKV1193 I will tell you buddy, I'm an artist. I have a piece of work in the Hodge, I have sold to big corps, and dealers in New York and you are 10x the artist I am, and the musician. It pains me to see a man with this much talent not main streamed, making fists full of cash, and bumping contacts in the Gugg
@MKV1193 stewart-macdonald makes luthier supplies. i think they make a tool to file the fret ends. not easy getting those ends to round off w/o cutting your fretboard but tape around it with some painter's tape or something and that'll help protect it.
what make & model amp you using? Sounds great! and that's on just a one chord jam. Would love to hear you riff on some country licks, Albert Lee style...Peace out Truthsurge
i love guitars though i do not know anything about it except the great sound it makes! you rock! i love your music but no biting next time please (haha that was funny!) i enjoyed as much you do man! thumbs up!!!!!!!!

I haven't produced anyone you've heard of. Mostly niche jazz and reggae (not my cuppa, but the pay is good). I mostly teach these days.

TruthSurge 9 months ago
@AnglicanApologist72 I actually thought of a funny title. The Hysterical Evidence for the Ressurection but then decided it might give a signal that I was only out to pwn and had nothing in my gun but blanks. :)
TruthSurge 9 months ago
Yeah, as for pwning... I try to keep a sort of teacherly approach to my serious vids like the JM series and such. I do the funny stuff but I try to not pwn because I actually would like SOME christians to at least see part of what I'm saying. even tho.... the title will preclude most of them right off the bat.
TruthSurge 9 months ago
@AnglicanApologist72 If you remain convinced of anywhere from a Jesus was just a man who points us to god up to he was god in flesh and the bible is all true, it's still your belief as long as you really believe it. and beliefs can change over time as new evidence is discovered. The Internet plays a small role in my discoveries but I used Logos software mostly back then and read a physical Bible. I spent probably 6 years of study b4 I deconverted. so, it happens.
TruthSurge 9 months ago
@AnglicanApologist72 If you can force yourself to walk up to the edge of the pit and look over into it AND keep your eyes open, you will have done more than most Christians. Fear is what keeps most people where they are. fear of losing what they have. fear of change. You have lots of time to study these things. I didn't deconvert until I was about 35 years old. If you eventually come to where you cannot believe even a basic gospel story, then that is fine. It will be your belief.
TruthSurge 9 months ago
@AnglicanApologist72 Well, that's just it. Whatever my vid series ends up showing will STILL be less evidence than there actually is against it. I just can't turn it into a year long affair. I got other stuff I want to try doing. music, stories, t-shirts hehehe. but my approach will be broader than Ehrman's because he will not be using the angles I will. I DO mention the JM theory in it but Idon't rely on it. I just show how the evidence lines up with it here and there.
TruthSurge 9 months ago
@AnglicanApologist72 I will not say a ress is impossible. I will say it is extremely unlikely based on all we know in our modern era. I also will argue that there are better explanations for a ress belief AND better explanations for the content of the gospels than that 4 anonymous authors were relaying history. :) just wait. you will go HOLY CRAP! I did not KNOW that!!! hahahhaha
TruthSurge 9 months ago
@AnglicanApologist72 Ehrman's treatment of the mss is extremely fair handed. He makes a point not to claim that the gospels are fictional or a hoax but he simply states the facts. It's a good book.
TruthSurge 9 months ago
@AnglicanApologist72 well, i HOPE to finish my vid b4 you dig into your "who is jesus" vids because I think you need to see what I got up my sleeve first. :) Some of it is going to blow your mind and probably lots of other people's minds. I spent 2 hrs on it tonight at my dad's just rereading it, editing, adding, rewriting, ... it's almost 30 pages long right now. I'm not going to cover the contradictions between the gospels but I will cover briefly those of the post ress accts.

TruthSurge 9 months ago
@AnglicanApologist72 Are you planning to review Wright's book in a vid? that'd prob be interesting. have you watched Ehrman's debate with Craig on the resurrection? He basically takes the approach I will. The gospels and acts are not remotely reliable and therefore make a poor foundation for a resurrection claim. but, it is up to me to show just how unreliable they are before anyone buys THAT claim. :) holla atcheeeeee

I'm sure I've heard this music on some of my old VHS porno movies, .. In all seriousness, i can hear echo's of Steve Hillage here.
Your talents have no bounds Truthsurge, ... very impressive.

@bonnie43uk well, when you repeate a groove over and over, it does sound a tad like the old porno tracks. But my solos are better. :) hahahhah I've heard that guy but can't recall. YT search to the rescue......... thank ya!
TruthSurge 9 months ago

TruthSurge 9 months ago
@TruthSurge Man your playing is killer! I hope the new frets really made a difference. I thought about scalloping mine, but man I just don't have the finesse to do it. I always love your guitar videos. Great to see you post another!
MKV1193 9 months ago
@MKV1193 thanks! the frets are better but not all level. had some issues with chipping edges and a hump in the heel so I'm having to do lots of extra work (filing the frets etc) to get it playable. It is maybe 90% of where I want it. Frets out in a few places where it just dies and I need to file discreetly to equal that out and once I do that i can lower the strings a touch more. w/o level frets, you cannot get the lowest action.
TruthSurge 9 months ago
@TruthSurge The fretwork on my guitar was pretty poor. The frets are too long in some places, and it really hurts my hand to play sometime because it'll cut my hand sometime. Have quite a bit of buzz too. I wanted a dimarzio, but I resorted to getting an EMG just because I figured the pre-amp would cover up the crappiness of the guitar. Which that was somewhat successful. Then again thats what I get for buying something super cheap, but hey gotta start somewhere.
MKV1193 9 months ago
@MKV1193 yeah, it's always something. I used to use EMGs but got tired of worrying if the battery was good and I didn't like the high end hiss. You trade the low end hum for high end hiss. So, i'm back to passive pickups and prefer them really. Every day I play, I get the same sound. no batteries. :)
but yeah, there are good guitars for $250 now UH days. Maybe I'll order some parts and build my dream axe one day. If you're not skeered, get a file and file the fret ends then buff em.
TruthSurge 9 months ago
@TruthSurge Yeah I prefer passives too. I got a passive EMG, but I still never really cared for the tone of them. I've played a couple DiMarzio's and I think they all seem to have a classic tone that really sings. I'm not a fan of actives either. I cant get behind using a battery either.
Haha I might try that. I just dont wana mess it up more than it already it. I've been saving up for awhile though. Hopefully I'll get my dream guitar one day too haha.
MKV1193 9 months ago
@MKV1193 if you go slowly and use care, you can do it. it won't be machine perfect but you can file the corners and keep it from cutting you at least. get a mag glass too so you can see what yer doing. one that stands on a stand with a light is perfect. I should get one myself but I'm ....... broke. all my $ goes to bills and so I have to fight the urge to buy stuff I'd like. oh well. sucks to be broke. it just affects everything.
TruthSurge 9 months ago
@TruthSurge Yeah im going to see if I can get something like that. I did wire the pickup in by myself, and didn't mess it up. So I'm sure with some TLC I can get things right enough. That sucks man. You should be playing with people like Satch, and Vai. You've really got an awesome tone, and I'd totally buy an album if you made one.
MKV1193 9 months ago
@MKV1193 I will tell you buddy, I'm an artist. I have a piece of work in the Hodge, I have sold to big corps, and dealers in New York and you are 10x the artist I am, and the musician. It pains me to see a man with this much talent not main streamed, making fists full of cash, and bumping contacts in the Gugg
Elenkhos 9 months ago
@MKV1193 stewart-macdonald makes luthier supplies. i think they make a tool to file the fret ends. not easy getting those ends to round off w/o cutting your fretboard but tape around it with some painter's tape or something and that'll help protect it.
