This vid blew me away cause I am currently restoring a '72 model inka orange tii. They certainly chose the right colour. I have to thank these guys for recreating upholstery parts that had long been unavailable. That they were still using brazing in the manufacture of cars into the 70's probably explains why German cars are so damned expensive.
Damn, mass production in cars is wonderful...imagine your car being fabricated like this, we would get excellent results but at an unbuyable price. That orange 2002 makes me drool.
in Poland you can have as good service for a fraction of BMW devision's costs. The craftmanships mentioned are still in use or at least well known to polish car specialists, I mean good specialist. and they charge you less
my advice is, you want to restore your care properly for a fair price? take it to Poland!
@bighi hey, this should be one of the advantages of EU, you can easyly buy goods and services in other lands. especially if most of the good workshops can provide excellent service, communication in german or english, often french is not a problem too. I myself have BMW 3200 CS Bertone with V8 motor waiting for restoration but unfortunately it still have to wait for it's turn. Anyway, even bringing car through half of europe can be more profitable at the end when it comes to restoration
I looked at an exact copy of this car today in Vancouver. The owner is not quite ready to sell it but I have first dibs when he does. Can't wait. Love these cars. So cheery looking!
I must say. Whats the point. there plenty already made? And as for will it pass the MOT It shouldnt need one for 3 years if its brand new registered 2006. Still tho why bother. and when did the wiring loom mysteriously go in.
I would love to buy this car...this car appeared on the year I was born, but has only a couple of years of age, it is like a time warp...I would gladly drive this every day.
1:30 bearings with no graphit grease?? I feel sorry for this nice tii, mine is better off :-)

That about polish restoration is cool, but this was NOT A RESTORED CARD, is a new built car, from 0.

Few 1000's euros of damage!? This is madness!! Custom headliner like this cost in my country about 100 euro.

why was it the worst?

No pump spare parts, very problematic to tune.

so why are they the most desired? I see they bring more money than the ti's.

best model: my'71-'73 2002tii
round rear light clusters
best color: inca orange (my car was golf yellow)
best engine: kugelfisher injected
Rare set of original alloy wheels.
If it also has LSD and 5-speed gearbox
this would be one of my all time favorite cars!!
5* for the video serie

What Mobile Tradition has done to pay homage to the iconic 2002 is beyond words, its more a feeling than something you can say.
