man ferrets are as bad as pack rats! so cute. My mom went to reapholster her couch, when she turned it over to take off the bottom fabric that covers the inside she found that it had a hole chewed in it and a little ferret nest inside it made of money. THere was a 50, several 20s and 10s a few 5s and tons of 1s. I think the total was over $300

I have 4 ferrets. I have many times seen one stealing, one acting lookout, and another one acting as a distraction..then they all regroup and enjoy whatever was stolen.

Many times they work together. One goes to steal the bag of chocolate raisins. one or 2 others go to spill a drink or start wrestling in front of me to keep me occupied. Sometimes the remaining ferret either helps or fights over the spoils. Once they hear the treat bag rattling in a hidey hole as one or 2 try to open it, they all go running there for their share.

They are compatible with cats, however ferrets are very active and will just test cats patiences to much. The cats will tend to go where the ferret isnt. You will see youtube videos of ferets and cats. These incidents arent one off. The ferret will tend to want to play like this all the time.

I think it depends on the cats. My ferrets tormented the hell out of my cats, the cats just quickly learned where ferrets can and can't get, and spent more time there. On rare occasions they would play but it was usually just the ferret sneaking up on a sleeping cat and pouncing on him and biting his ear or neck in an attempt to get the cat to play.
