LS460 designers has the older generation in mind. It's marketing is directed at middle age and elderly drivers which makes up a large proportion of our society.

What feels silly or slow for a younger person is the perfect ticket for an older person.

Many elderly citizens cause damage to either the car in front or rear when trying to park.

The IS Lexus is targeted for the young driver where this feature would have little or no interest.

Lol, great point. My gf's jaguar has the audible parking alert sensors which, for me, work great as a manual parking assist feature. At this stage in technology, I think the audible system is much much faster than fiddling around with a computer screen for a minute to do a 5-second parking job.
