  • Ignore these people.. best way to learn john fahey is to feel it out. Literally. Learn the chords he uses and then improvise what feels natural to you using those chords. Soon, you will be making chords you don't even know because it will just sound right to you.. You clearly have the ability.. keep goin

  • Last visit date: 10 months ago (:o( Hope you managed to learn the whole thing (:o)

  • Put a bit more effort before publishing on YouTube. You played the first two measures fairly well. Now go figure out the rest and then show us what you've got. This song is a framework for improvisation. Go for it.

  • WOW! You are beautiful! I love John Fahey.

  • It was definitely recognizable and a pretty good start. You have to tackle the harder bits that come later on but I think you'll get it. Fight on...

  • That was good. hope you know the whole song by now.

  • Nicely done, Miss! Sounds great. Keep on a-pluggin'. :-)

  • I disagree, I think you were doing good and you should play the rest of the song :D you can do it!! and if you need motivation it's my birthday a while after you did this last year so do it for my birthday! so you got a month..

I found out his guitar was just tuned lower I guess and you are on the right track so I came back to say that, and that that night was my first delve into the world of finger style guitar and I'm hooked now, so thanks! cause you made me to think about how he played it :)

  • according to yt video I watched before this one your guitar is tuned higher =)

Or he plays it different on different strings? I thought my guitar was tuned different then his then watched this and figured the high string note you're doing. and then I figured I could do his notes one string up 3-4 fret. what's great from my perspective is watching his recording I wanted to learn it and then this vid forced me to think about it. Thanks :) otherwise I got nothing...never heard the song before

    Josh

  • hahaa. you make me laugh.

and the songs sounds good so far!...but i don't know how to play it. It's next on my list afterrr I finish learning Fahey's "Red Pony" song. Gosh it's taking me forever...wish i had a real tab to learn from instead of one youtube video.

    Keep up the good worrrrrk

  • Yes, you have the rhythm and the right melancholy yet joyful mood. Hardest part to get, so you're well on your way!
