I bet you can hot wire that thing by closing the circuit by snipping the red and black wire and shorting it.

Uhhhm, looks like all I need is a RC car radio and receiver to open your door ;-) I would also make it battery operated in case the power goes out. Very nice project!

It's the ID-20 at Sparkfun. It works great and is extremely easy to interface over a single RX wire.

Haha, it has an erase feature that doesn't require the tag to be present too.
