  • If I were Fredo I would have disappeared once Michael said, "Fredo you're nothing to me now."

  • O Melhor filme de todos os tempos!....

  • al pacino best living actor!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheKid752 de niro.

  • 2:00 I'm speechless

  • Beautifil!

  • Only Nino Rota

  • The only reason that prevents me from killing all my enemys is that I am a religious man that fears God most, plus I don't have a gun. In another world, I'll just go SCARFACE on there A**ES just like 1

  • when I hear this all i can think of is the loyalty and protection I owe to my family

  • I applaud in praise every time this song comes on and Michael, sitting on the bench alone, fades to black.

  • I think I'd rather have Sonny as my Don than Michael. Even though he's a hothead. You can't talk business with him.

  • @speedyseminole - very good insight and explanation of Michael's ending scene

  • Perfect ending in Godfather II. Michael has lied and murdered his way to the top. Lied to his wife, Connie, Carlo. Murdered Tessio, Carlo, Fredo, Hyman Roth, Moe Green, Barzini, Philip Tetaglia and more. Lied to Congress under oath. At the pinacle of his wealth and power, no one to challenge him. And he sits on a bench, utterly alone and totally empty.

  • @thespotteddog michael is one lucky bastard at the end not to have to deal with anymore family bullshit

  • @thespotteddog ....You forgot, through informants he finally found and whacked Fabrizio outside a Buffalo pizza parlor.

  • @thespotteddog Yeah but connie was a bitch so we dont care maty :)

  • @thespotteddog but without Michael the family is dead for a longtime,Michael is the hero.

  • @thespotteddog man honestly this film is i feel once in a life time. think about this, the heavens aligned to make this, it had nothing to do with talent. i mean there is so many talented people in hollywood. the perfect composer with the ABSOLUTE perfect director with perfect actors and crew. like this will never happen and if it does, it will be pure luck.

  • "i never wanted this for you micheal"

  • @NikeAurrs45 I work my whole life, I don't apologize, to take care of my family. And I refused to be a fool dancing on the strings held by all of those big shots.

  • godfather is one of the best movies!

  • So sad about it had to come to the death of Fredo, while he was fishing goddammit!.

  • You broke my heart!

  • it makes me so damn angry that television no longer plays end credits properly

  • @davidpar2 Buy the dvd!

  • in a way, this score summarizes the movie... you can almost "hear" the good times and the violence--both at the same time-- in the flow of the notes...

  • I knew it was you......You Broke my heart........YOU BROKE MY HEART

  • I can never end my day without listening to this perfect piece of art. every time i listen i still felt the moment of Micheal sitting on the chair in silent....just wondering what he was thinking.....

  • ...this cute little thing over here, that's my sister Connie....say hello to Carlo, he's good lookin' 'aint he?

  • Oh i forget ;)

I like a games of The Godfather =]

    5/5

  • crime does not pay, at the end, Michael constructed his empire with his family and friends, but he ended enjoyning it alone.

  • @amc1851 and that's what destroyed him in the end. Michael's greed killed him.

  • I love this piece!

Especially when it was played at the end of part II with the close up of Michael all alone and darkness covers his face. Sends shivers up my spine.

  • it's the moment when one says to oneself:"shit..."

  • stupenda

  • de las mejores peliculas de antaño la mas infaltable de la seleccion es ésta

  • notting else -- godfather always a different to others. its always an only masterpiece. how says "chef d'oeuvre "

  • the best movie ever!

  • Most beautiful song that I love the Godfather trilog

  • this is my favorite score from all 3 movies

  • agree and me 2

the first few seconds always give me a thrill

  • The Godfather II, an unsurpassed Cinematic treat

  • man the godfather 2 has the most awesome soundtrack ever! the music just touches you and makes you just think. masterpiece!

  • Bella, absolutamente bella! The soundtrack at least, and dare I say, the film, is superior to the original. One of Nino Rota's greatest achievements, and one of the best in film music history! It was only fitting that he was awarded the Oscar for this soundtrack =D

  • Yes, Rota was obviously a gifted composer. I think he also wrote the "Romeo and Juliet" theme (Zeffirelli's 1968 verison) which also was striking.

  • this song is turly a masterpiece!!

heck anything related to the godfather is a masterpiece!!!!!! :)

  • yup u can turn a crap film which was rated 2 stars into an epic just by puttting godfather music into a 4 or 5 star rated film lools.

  • There must be some sort of rule that only the first two films in a series that revolutionizes a genre can be great. You have The Godfather and The Godfather Part II, Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, Alien and Aliens, and The Terminator and Terminator 2, all of which are great films. But then you have films that suck, such as The Godfather Part III, Day of the Dead and Land of the Dead, Alien³ and Alien: Resurrection, and Terminator 3. I dont know what it is, but its weird.

  • I've heard of very few cases when the third installment measured up to the first two or was even considered the best of the three (such as Crash Bandicoot 3 and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban).

It's like an unbreakable pattern. Mind you, it usually happens when there's a change of director or producers.

  • Well, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is considered the best of Sergio Leones Clint Eastwood trilogy, but its been years since Ive seen any of those films.

Ive only seen the 1st 3 Potter films, but while not bad, theyre just too juvenile to rank alongside the classics I mentioned.

  • Actually, I meant the Harry Potter books. It's generally about the third installment in a media franchise, be it books, films, games, you name it.

  • Never read em. Not that interested in fantasy.

  • harry potter 4 was better

  • Yes, but I was talking about the first three books in the series.

  • i totally agree look at empire strikes back and return of the jedi

they had a great director in empire, then they changed it, geuss george lucas wanted a diffrent direction

  • now im scared the next Dark knight ( or what ever they will call it ) will flop...):

  • They've got to be VERY careful with what they do. I think the first best thing would be for them to mention that the Joker is locked up.

I, for one, think a good storyline would be (for instance), Catwoman starting her own crusade against crime to replace Batman, since she knows Batman is innocent of Harvey Dent's crimes, and eventually the two have to avoid the police and maybe go up together against the Riddler, all the while falling in love.

Just a suggestion. No more Joker, without Ledger.

  • I havent seen The Dark Knight (and Ledger was simply terrible in Brokeback Mountain), but while Batman Begins was a good film, even a good action film, it doesnt even match up to the first Batman by Tim Burton. Nicholson gave that film a camp element that Begins lacks and superhero films need camp- after all, theyre about men in tights.

  • Men in tights? Batman wears body armour now. And camp should be left out of films that are dark in nature ("Batman & Robin", anyone?).

And come on, Ledger wasn't that bad in Brokeback Mountain. He was nominated for an Oscar, after all, but didn't win because the Academy didn't like the gay love scenes.

  • Yes, but The Dark Knight is simply a dull action film. Were given no reason to care for the characters, because the film assumes that we care about the characters having seen them in the previous film. And Ledgers Joker is simply dull. Hes a generic psychopath, no different from a thousand others in Hollywood. He couldve been a plague of locusts. Eckhart was actually far more interesting.

Hoffman won because he gave a great performance, whereas Ledger simply spent the whole film mumbling.

  • This is probably my favourite score in the movie, or any movie for that matter.

  • how is it that filmmakers make a film, and then make a sequel that beats the original in almost every way???? They did it with Godfather II, The Dark Knight, Spider-Man 2, Shrek 2, X-Men 2, Pirates of the Caribbean 2, etc.

And why are the third films always not as good?? It's like a pattern that can't be defied........

  • Yeah. I think it's because the sequels tend to be darker and more epic. They also don't need to introduce the characters and stuff. They just immediately begin the story.

The third movies always suck because they have to hurry up and finish the story by the time it's over. And they usually want to end on a happy note, so the dark tone of the first sequel is thrown out the window.

  • I like the whole trilogy of the Godfather , Nino Rotta's music is unique and deep. The best movie ever made !!

  • i love the Godfather but i like part 1 and 3 better than part 2

  • Al Pacino representing the godfather. After Marlon Brando one of my favourite actors. And yes like the others i must agree to it that this music comes from the hart and it shows us how times have changed. the mob has changed as so the world has.

  • 0:36 - 1:25

    1:46 - 2:55

  • great music

  • I wish I could write this. Nino Rota is a genius

  • The music is very powerful but yet have a tragic undertone to it, which perfectly describes The Godfather. It's a modern Greek/Shakesperian tradegy.

  • best music i ever heard

  • I think this musical piece is a great reflection of the power, but also the love and sense of closeness of the Corleone family. The price of Michael's "victory" is the completion of the ruin of his soul, which began in the first film. It is a portrait of a man alone who realizes he has betrayed his own ideals and himself. It is the perfect allegory of America in the early and mid 1970's - where love of country and neighbor was betrayed by the paranoia and corruption of Vietnam and Watergate

  • If that was an thesis then you would get a prize good sir! Very well thought out.

  • @speedyseminole I just like it!!! =)

  • This is my favourite piece of music from the Godfather classics. Its inclusion in the credits of Godfather II just finishes the film perfectly. 5 *
