Quick question so when they say tpi do they mean fuel is injected at the throttle body? Or it it also at the ports like a efi system in say a ls1?

@ztunelover no, injected in2 the throtle body is a tbi..tpi has 8 injectors shootin fuel directly in2 each "port" sum models have 9 injectors..1 4each cylinder n 1 extra 4cold morning starts n shit

Flowmaster from what I am a where of only makes high flow mufflers and not exhaust system.

the smoke is probly not a head gasket! it is more like the valve stem seals that allways leak oil and the smoke is white.

I have always liked this body style of Firebird and Camaro. I like the engines in the newer ones better. Having the LS1 in this car would be the best of both worlds.

Im in sanbernardino California. Im looking for a 87 to 89 Firebird. There are a couple of firebirds for sale but all I could find are with the 2.8 engine. The cars look freakin cool but I want a 5.0 or 5.7. I had a 89 2.8 V6. I wish I still had it. Whoever has a Firebird 5.7L let me know please...

oh ya.with that price range it willbe easy. minewas only 3500 but it isnt in awesome condition. you could find one pretty much perfect for probaly less than10. kelly blue book only rates a 89 in great condition at 3200 but ur never gana find some thats gana sell a nice car that cheap. heck with that budget i would search for the 20th ann turbo TA those are sick

I think the Formula model may have had a few 350s thrown out there but even then the ground kit on this car doesn't say formula either so.... ?? Thinkin it's just a decal kit basically. I have an 89 GTA and I KNOW it has a 5.7 but it's currently awaiting a swap out for a 327 Stealth Ram set up. Can still pull out plenty horses with a 327. =) Plus they sound awesome!

My money says that's an 89 Trans Am, 305 TPI. Several ornament add on's, non-stock decals, mesh wheels... give it away. I don't know of a 5.7 in an 89 Pontiac original, other than a GTA. Nice car though, no doubt...I own an 87 GTA.

ya i need to fix mine to. you cant really see it in the vid but the paint is chipping off since the wing is made of rubber (for some stupid reason) and it has a rust spot were it bolts to the trunk
