I walked up to that protest. It was a fucking embarrassment to be Irish. Apart from the fact that it was a pretty serious issue at stake (well, it was to me yesterday, I'm getting over it now) that prick - no, that cunt who plays Dustin came down for 2 or 3 minutes to talk shite and promote HIS NEW DVD FOR CHRISTMAS. I was expecting some under-the-belt reference at some point, well done. By referring to the # of players (currently) playing for major club sides, of tournaments reached and won I was simply trying to illustrate that France have a bigger pool of talent and tradition to draw from. Also you're blissfully ignoring the fact that Ireland did terribly in their home match and had enough chances in Paris to avoid going out on the 1:1 draw.

No Dublin wasn't a great Irish preformance but the French did get a lucky goal.

In Paris we played the French off the pitch and activily looked for a 2nd.

Ireland won the match in Paris over 90 minuites so why do you feel the need to redicule the idea that Ireland 'can' (not will) beat big teams like France in the future?

Look, France have had and will always have a much larger pool of talent to use in their campaigns. They remained far below their potential while Ireland, at least in France, exhausted all of what they had. If there were to be a replay, do you really think France are going to embarass themselves again and not get their arses up for once? For Ireland, a performance like last Wednesday's is a big achievement that cannot be repeated on request. I'd have liked Ireland to have qualified ...

Slovenia, incidentally, managed what Ireland failed to do and showed the FIFA the finger by kocking Russia out of the relegation. But why commend their achievement when you can just continue moaning?

Your evidence for Ireland getting their asses kicked in a replay doesn't stand up because of those preformances.

did you not see how the french media has turned on its team and called for domenech's resignation, and 4 out of 5 french people voting against their team. do you not think the irish reaction and proactivity had anything to do with that? you're the only muppet. you'll sit on your hole drinking pints and support the team, but when it comes to getting out there and doing something active, you'll criticize your own country instead.
