beat this thing for the my first time ever on my first play through today had about half the power ups you do lacked the ice spreader (forgot to go look for it :L) far too easy tbh Meta Ridley is harder
real quick question: when metroid prime turns yellow for the power beam, could you use super missiles? i'm not sure if it would work, and i'm keep dying right before the very end.
@scaryyougurt Yes, you can. In fact, you can use every beam-missile combo against him, although I wouldn't use the Flamethrower because it sucks. The Wavebuster is great but it eats up a TON of missiles.
Incredible... You approach Metroid Prime, and it awakens. They show it from all angles, then it reveals it's face. Plops down, no bullshit... Then smashes through a wall and basically says "follow me if you want to fight" ...Incredible game.
Just look at the animations when it charges towards you and you have to use the morph ball. The growls it makes are beyond demonic, too... This game proves that a good team, and amazing programming skills come a long way, and make a game future-proof.
the hardest part was the metroids on the way there. it was especially hard for me since im colourblind, and some of the colours they change into look VERY similar
@Huuutproductions magmoor caverns somewhere lol u need powerbomb and plant one in the middle of a bridge that has colorless glass in the middle, google it if u have to
@Huuutproductions That was so hard for me to find too but its in one of the hallways in magma caverns in the cracked hallway, I believe there is two hallways that have to same name but like I and II. I cant remember exactly what its called though
The special Ice missile, Ice buster I think, is in a cracked passage tube in the "lava zone", sorry, forgot how it's called. You gonna need Power bombs to crack it (you know, the lil nukes) and the you'll find the power under where this passage used to be.
@ezecskornfan It's actually called the Ice Spreader.
It's in the room right next to the Monitor Station, with the cracked glass tunnel in it (the door into that room from the Monitor station is on the ground floor, on the wall opposite the door that goes to Phendrana Drifts). Lay a power bomb in the cracked glass tunnel and it'll break, and the Ice Spreader is right underneath.
hmm...well i got this game a looonng time ago....right when it came out and i played it for a while then stopped. i started playing call of duty more and assassins creed, little big planet 2, dead space, all those great games! and i completely forgot about this game...i started playing it again a few days ago and just about shit myself from its epicness. more gamers need to go back to these amazing games:)
Curious question; I'm off to Gamestop tomorrow with seventy bucks. Other than pre-ordering Duke Nukem: Forever, I'm going to buy Trilogy. Are there any MAJOR differences between Trilogy and the individual games? (I'm only playing through Prime 1 and 2, can't stand Prime 3)
@bornOfSky You sure your local GameStop has a copy of Trilogy in stock? They're hard to come by since most of them have already been sold and Nintendo is no longer making any copies.
As for differences, there aren't any major ones other than the Wii controls. There are some slight graphical enhancements such as widescreen support, and there's the medal system that was in Prime 3, but I'm surprised you can't stand Metroid Prime 3 at all. How come? I find all 3 games to be really awesome.
@pokemon4621 Metroid Prime isn't the ruler of all the Metroids; that would most likely be the Metroid Queen if we were talking about Metroid 2. Metroid Prime is a living being comprised of Phazon and Metroid DNA, although he has a surprisingly human-like appearance. He's the source of the Phazon on Tallon IV, where the game takes place, though.
The first part of the fight was amazingly easy, but the second part was a little more challenging. I tried looking for the Metroid Prime in his cloaked form, but I kept getting my butt kicked by Space Pirates and Metroids. O_O I finally beat it after ten minutes or so. :)
I know the scan said "Recommend maximum firepower when engaging this enemy" but wow. Super Missiles, the Wavebuster and the Ice Spreader. I was waiting for the Flamethrower! :P
@ACDCGAMER Yeah, it is the worst of the optional charge combos. I get the combos for the sake of having them, but I only use the mandatory Super Missile or the Ice Spreader!
Prime Took Away Much Of My HP and i Had 4-5 Energy Tanks Left When I Beat His 1st Phase Oh and I got Every Power Bomb Expansion On First Playthrough, Now Let's See If I can do the same for Missiles and Energy Tanks!
the thing about this is without using the action replay, by the time you get to metroid prime, your energy tanks are all empty. that room with allthe colored metroids, I tried a 100 times had no energy by the time I got to the main enemy
There's also a recharge station just before you go to fight this thing. If you can't make it through the crater without nearly getting killed by Metroids you need to try harder.
....dude, look at the fucking video. Can't you see that I'm going into Morph Ball form and hiding in those trenches? That's the only way to dodge him btw.
@ACDCGAMER not really, after a while, you can tell that after the first beam attack the others are launched instantly. I always do a double jump and go at the side, but man, he was a pretty hard boss the first time that I confronted him, but the battle it's spectacular
Yea I remember when i fought him. But I must say the fight against metal ridley was way more difficult then this one. It took me like 5 times until i finally beated him
@evieolayuk If You Want to eliminate the fission metroid faster, go to morphball and lay a power bomb. if there are more fission metroid will be better: the power bomb removess them only with a little touch
i only have 175 missles no super missle i only found one powerbomb upgrade all of the other nukes and crannys are blocked by cordite! i dont know how to break cordite either!
Eh? You NEED the Super Missile to move on in the game. There's no way you could even get to Thardus without it, because you need it to fight him and ultimately move on in the game. You need Super Missiles to break Cordite. Try charging the Power Beam and pressing the missile button while charging it; it fires the Super Missile.
I dont think Prime was so hard, at least on normal. I havent tried it on hard. Its attacks werent so hard to dodge and you get health from those orb-thingies. The core wasnt too hard but the little metroids that came from it were just annoying. But great boss and a great game!
wel to tell you the truth im not sure, i never played hard mode on the gamecube. unless hard mode is the last difficulty setting in the game, then i guess it would be the equivilant.
metroid prime was hard on veteran. I hated when ever I got the right beam he would switch colors. annoying . but the thing that really annoyed me was that I only completed 60% of the game!!!! :(
Im playing this atm and i was wondering do you have to scan everything to get the 100% ending because cba with that if not i'll just get all items and see what ending is there!
Flamethrower works wonders on this guy. It can be tough to connect, but it deals huge damage (about a fully charged plasma shot every ~5 missiles). When you have 250, you don't really care about them. Usually though, normal plasma shots are the way to go, not charged shots.
I also don't like using the wavebuster because it's rather weak. Same damage 'ratio' as the flamethrower, except the change wave shot does even less than a change power beam shot. The missile cost goes into the homing. Lame.
Really, huh? I should check into that. It doesn't really matter though, as I can utterly destroy Metroid Prime most of the time and lose just one or two energy tanks in the process. I never really liked to use the Flamethrower though, so yeah. xD
Sort of, while his armor is yellow. You see, you have to switch your weapons according to what defense screen he (or she) is using. If it's yellow, only Power Beam weapons work. Purple, Wave Beam weapons. White, Ice Beam weapons, and Red, Plasma Beam weapons. DO NOT use the Flamethrower against him if you have it, it's the most uselesscombo in the game IMO; stick with charged Plasma Beam shots. The Wavebuster is good, but drains ammo quickly; use the Super Missile and Ice Spreader the most.
I wish I had finished this game, my gamecube and disc never wanted to cooperate together and would always freeze. Since nintendo does care they are releasing all 3 for the wii, 2+3 were good but even though I never finished the first game it was my favorite
On Normal Mode, I was surprised at how easy this guy was the first time (beat him with like 9 energy tanks left)...but I can imagine there being a challenge on Hard Mode...
Oh, that's the main part of the game (and the only planet you visit in the game). You're on a space pirate ship during the beginning, and then you follow Meta-Ridley to planet Tallon IV.
He is the first time, but as you fight him again and again he becomes much easier. I almost died fighting Metroid Prime my first time; I lost all but one of my energy tanks fighting the first form alone, and then had about 23 energy left when I finally beat the second form. However, I can usually fight Metroid Prime and lose only 1 or 2 tanks, or barely any energy at all if I collect any health pickups.
Respond to this video... WEEEELL UNLESS YOUREJFESUS OR TONY SARK<ER SAMUS<OR THE CHOZO<WHO R THE ONDES WHO FKION GAV SAMUS HER POWERSUIIT<WHENMETROID PRIME WAS WEEK AS HELL<RELATIVLY<BUT WERE STILL MURDEERED FNOR LAK OF SCREENTI
M.P. just got owned!!!!! I actually found not using missiles quite effective. I only used the Ice Spreader and the Super Missile. Everything else i saved for the final battle. ...Actually, i only did this b/c i only had 180/250 missiles. Stop laughing!
Don't worry, the Super Missile and the Ice Spreader are probably the best Beam Combos you should use against MP. The Flamethrower absolutely sucks, and the Wavebuster, while great, gobbles up your missiles, so charged Wave Beam shots are a good alternative.
he is hard.

It's not really a surprise.

Oh, that's the main part of the game (and the only planet you visit in the game). You're on a space pirate ship during the beginning, and then you follow Meta-Ridley to planet Tallon IV.
ACDCGAMER 2 years ago
Second planet? There is no second planet, unless you're playing Metroid Prime 3.

is this boss hard? cause i suck at metroid prime :(
brycab2 2 years ago
He is the first time, but as you fight him again and again he becomes much easier. I almost died fighting Metroid Prime my first time; I lost all but one of my energy tanks fighting the first form alone, and then had about 23 energy left when I finally beat the second form. However, I can usually fight Metroid Prime and lose only 1 or 2 tanks, or barely any energy at all if I collect any health pickups.

well hopefully ill be able to beat him

M.P. just got owned!!!!! I actually found not using missiles quite effective. I only used the Ice Spreader and the Super Missile. Everything else i saved for the final battle. ...Actually, i only did this b/c i only had 180/250 missiles. Stop laughing!
LMbasspro16 2 years ago
Don't worry, the Super Missile and the Ice Spreader are probably the best Beam Combos you should use against MP. The Flamethrower absolutely sucks, and the Wavebuster, while great, gobbles up your missiles, so charged Wave Beam shots are a good alternative.

i like this metroid the best out of echos and corruption

You hold A and press Y, but you need to actually GET the upgrade. It's like the Super Missile.

At least 11 what? Energy Tanks? If you see, I have all 14 Energy Tanks. Actually, I have all of the items in the game.
ACDCGAMER 3 years ago
Man I hate it when he goes into his plasma beam form!
BleachFreak86 3 years ago
how do you begin with full energy, there is no save before this fight and the mutated metroids always wittle away at least some of my health.
creepsomber 3 years ago
Um... yeah there is, at the entrance. And I just dodged the Metroids pretty well, although I still took some damage. Or I'm just good? >_>
ACDCGAMER 3 years ago
Ah, ok--I'm an idiot. :-P
