Thank you! I tried this from a written description at about.com and was trying to crochet with the opposite hand and was having a terrible time :P Your video makes much more sense and helps alot!! Thank you for sharing! :)
I've crocheted for 28 years and never had to use a reverse sc. Scared to try it,I turned to a pro for help, you explained and did it so easily I knew I could do it too. Thanks for making this video and making it easy to understand how to do the reverse single crochet.Your a garment saver.
I was ready to give up on making my dog a sweater when I found your video. Now I'll continue crocheting it..thanks ever so much.
Thanks to all for the nice comments. I'm sorry I'm not able to respond to them all individually, but it's really nice to know this video helped so many people!
THANK YOU!!!! This was the part I was having trouble with! I've watched soooo many tutorials and NO ONE showed how to get past the first row. Thank you soooo much! :)
Beautifully clear! The choice of yarn, pace of stitching, and showing exactly where to insert the hook are perfectly executed. Many thanks for posting such a helpful video.
This is great! Thank you so much for this video! I am going to enjoy using this stitch especially for edgings as you say! U also hold the yarn the way i do to crochet. so many hold the yarn different and it can b confusing to watch the video - again thanks!
thanks! I've made an edging on my dishcloth for the very first time, before "youtube" I couldn't understand instructions about it this stitch , to see it is to believe it!! now on to bigger and better project, I ain't scared no more !
I am trying to make a lion from Vanna's Choice "Easy Crochet Critters" but am having troubles with making the legs. The directions are too vague and say:
Rounds 1 & 2: Work Rnds 1 and 2 of Head and Body; change to A (body color) in last st - 12 sts.
Round 3: Working in back loops only, sc in each st around.
Not enough info to do this. I have a picture I could send so one could see how it's supposed to look. If someone can help me with this, it would be appreciated!
Thanks a million, I was struggling with this for quite some time, trying to go from right to left on my own because I really needed this stitch for edging a project. Your video helped me greatly, but wow, this stitch makes my fingers cramp:-) I'd only tried it once before and now I remember why I thought I'd never again do it, lol. Excellent tutorial and thanks for using white yarn so we could see the demo easily.
I have been crocheting for years and have never seen this. I recently got a pattern that called for this stitch. I am in love with it now and can't wait to use it !!!
thanx. i wasn't understanding my written instructions. maybe b/c i'm a leftie, or maybe i just couldn't get past the idea of going backwards. i see it clearly now!
I'm left handed and crochet left to right ..so with this stick I'd go right to left I'm guessing? lol weird because my sister is also a leftie and she crochets with her right hand.
I too could not understand how to do this stitch and go backwards. It is so simple and I knew it but still couldnt get it. Thanks for the clear easy to follow instructions.
This video is wonderful. I had success on my first try finishing a hat. I have tried written instructions with drawings from three different books and couldn't get it. Thanks!
Thank you so much! I'm teaching a class at my church and someone brought in a pattern with that stitch and after all these years of crochet (40 since I learned at 15, and I'm 55) I had never heard of that stitch!
Thank you very much for this clear presentation of the reverse single crochet stitch. I had forgotton how to do this and was completely stumped and googled the query and there you were!!!! Thanks again. Karen
I've been looking for this stitch and couldn't figure out how to do it. Thanks so much for showing me. I've looked at books, but I couldn't figure out what the book was telling me. Thanks again for making my crochet time so much easier.
