  • Nice sounding and nice looking banjo.

    You play with a nice steady pace, but you need to take care to give all the notes their full length - you have a tendency to cut short some of the long notes.

    You can listen to his tune on the Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann website, played just a little faster than you play it here, so you should be able to play along. This should highlight the spots that need attention.

  • i concur with jag, it's a kel kroydon banjo. very good one at that!

  • Nice job! There are several banjo brands from the 1930s that were made by Gibson. I'd say your banjo is either an SS Stewart or a Kel Kroyden. Both are very collectable.
