@BazBlog if i do supersets instead of doing 1 set and rest after, will i gain more or will i gain the same? and if while doing halfway and i can't do it anymore, what should i do if i havent complete my exercise?
@sharpfraps - Personally I would do normal training as I think that is the best for gains. Supersets are great for the bit extra in a session. If you do them all the time then they become the norm so you will have to try and find something else to give you that little extra for a special workout. If you work to failure that is not bad provided you almost finish the set. If you stop at the beginning of the set you are working a bit too heavy. Baz
@BazBlog oh ok thanks. can you tell me the estimated time to gain some chest muscle if my chest workout is doing pushups (8,8,6,6) , floor presses with dumbbells (12,10,10,8,8) , dumbbell flyers on the floor (12,10,10,8,8)? im planning to add in 1 more exercise with reps of 10,8,8,6.
@sharpfraps - it is really hard to say. Each persons genetics is different. You can expect to see some good results in 4 months. Not much sooner. That too will depend on the food that you are eating. Good food and good training will produce the quickest results. Be patient and it will happen. Baz
@BazBlog It is my contention that consistency is the greatest defining factor of all. The guys who progress the fastest are the ones who never skip and a training session and dont have cheat days.
@Kevooi - thanks so much for the compliment. I can assure you that I am 59 in this vid and now have turned 60. It is easy to get into good shape if you eat right and you train properly at almost any age. Baz
So a Superset is doing say 12 reps of both exercises and do u rest? or do u go to say lowering the reps to 8 so it follows a pattern of 12-8-6-6? Please let me know :)
@DomTheSportzMan - normally a superset is when you do say 12 reps of flat bench press and then with no rest you do 12 reps of flys. There are different variations of supersets. Some people will consider doing 12 reps bicep curls and with no rest 12 reps of tricep pushdowns. It is up to you. There is not rest between what you do with a superset that is why it is called a super set. Baz
@DomTheSportzMan - I have a full 1 minute break between sets. So If my last set is going to be a superset then I have a minute rest before I do it and have a full 2 minute rest before I start training a different muscle. Baz
am I doing something wrong coz after the last 6-8 reps with much weight i tried to do a superset right after but I couldnt manage to do 12 reps with it so should i use really light weights with the super set?
@Pyropekka - I think you are closer to right then wrong. I find that often I do a set and struggle to finish the last few reps then when I go on to do the superset I find I cannot do the full compliment of 12 reps. You can go a bit lighter for the superset weights. Great that you are pushing hard on the normal reps though. Baz
@hititdj - it will depend on the weight and number of reps you use. Low reps v heavy weight is for strength (2-6 reps). Medium reps heavy builds muscle (8-12 reps)and high reps light is more for endurance (12+reps) Baz.
@BazBlog thanks man and another question what do u think if someone always has a workout thats based only on supersets instead of doing supersets once a month lets say
@hititdj - there are some people that work out like that. I like to do it so it as something special and will give the muscles and system a bit of a shock instead of it becoming a normal way of training. If you feel you are getting a good result doing them then keep going. Baz
Baz, Thanks for all your help over the passed year! Great to receive your personal message months back. Like sam above, am insprired by you and Scooby seeing guys over 40. Never to late to start. After 11 sedentary years, lost/maintained 80 since 12/20009. Finished first half marathon last week. Discovered the inner ectomorph. Frustrated by hardgaining; just keep working out (and running). . .
@dzb0123 - pleasure my friend. I am so pleased you are enjoying some good health. I feel you are never too old to train. When you are young you are naturally active but as you get older when you really need it is the time when you have learned to be the best excuse maker. I know that was me. Once I got into it that was the best thing in my life and I feel fantstic almost every day. Keep it up my friend and never quit. Baz
Great video. I just found your videos today and i have watched a majority of them and they all cleared up allot of confusion i had for the proper technique and form of the exercises. seeing you workout and learning some of these new exercises has really encouraged me. Thank you for sharing all of your information with us.
@sirrocky12 - that is fantastic and I am glad you have found the videos useful. I really hope they are going to help you to get the kind of results you want. Baz
Thank you SO MUCH for all your videos. I love your clear clear explanations and also the DONTS when doing a workout. I have been training with weights for quite a while now but after watching your videos I have realised my mistakes. Your videos are the only ones which I watched almost all of them. I am a woman and I have to say that your videos are such an inspiration even to women, well, at least to me! Thank you again and I hope you will come out with lots more videos.
@0302jackie - thanks very much for the really wonderful compliment. The kind of training that I do is fantastic for women too. They will not end up very big because of genetics but wow they will have an awesome body if they just do the simple exercises well. Thanks a million for your support. I saw that you subbed and thanks for that too. Baz
@samhainaz - Why? I am 59 and I show what I do. If you want a steroid taking giant there are loads of those on You Tube. I work out in my garage and have gone from a 39.5" waist to 33" in 120 days. I think that qualifies me to show others what I have done. I choose not to be any bigger. I just want to look fit and strong. Baz
@The1295theo - You are nearly at the age where you can really go for it. For now I would do lightish weights with 12+ reps. Gor for about 5 sets for each muscle. This will help you to condition your body and get a good foundation to build on. Baz
@rkyitn - when the muslce is working hard and it is tired then you need to make it go the extra mile. Doing a superset is a really a good way to do that. It will force the muscle to adapt and grow. Baz
What a nice fella! One question. In the video, the two excersices you supperset are basically for the same muscle. Am I right? If so, I think I wouldn't have much power left to do the second one right after the first one. How about doing bicep right after tricep? Please.
@jiajiahairui - thanks very much for the compliment. Yes that is the whole purpose of doing a superset. It is to push the muscle to the very limit so it has to adapt and grow. If you let it off the hook so to speak and do a different muscle then at the time the muscle needs to really be pushed you stop. Baz
@TheKingPasha - that is the problem with just losing weight. You need to lose or gain weight sensibly. Then you will look good when you get to the size you want. I would suggest you have a look at the nutrition video for some eating ideas and you will need to put in some good training so you can build up some lean muscle. If you need a training plan let me know and I will send you one. Baz
Baz, thank you very much for the useful advices and tips. It effects my personal training positively. I saw your pyramidal technique and I would like to learn more about it. My trainer taught me the Westside training method, what is your take on this? All the best.
@Gabmiggy - thank you very much. I do not know too much about Westside training and am sure you would know much more about it then I do. I understand it is to get the weakest muscle strong so your overall lifts can be more. I think it is good and must work or it would not have been invented. If you want to know more of how I train I would be happy to share that with you and you can make up your own mind what would work best for you. Baz
Sir Baz, I am here again and I have a question. Please don't think that I am creating a war here but I am just asking. Recently, I watched the channel of scooby and he was a bodybuilder like you. He said that in push ups, we should use the fist or the steel grip because using palms is wrong? I do not have the grip nor the ability to withstand the pain of fist push-ups. Is using the fist for push ups really safe?
@KapitanAndoy - you certainly are not starting a war. Each person has an opinion. I personally would do it with my hands flat on the floor. It is the way they have been done from the beginning of time. I am sure he has good reasons for doing it the way he does and I am sure that will work for him. You must do what you feel is right for you. There are lots of little gimmick things you can use with press ups but a lot of that is for sales. You will not damage anything doing flat hand push ups. Baz
@Puckosmucko- yes if you have a look on bazblog you will see one on nutrition and it will give you some good ideas on what and how much to eat. If you need more help let me know. Baz
You can occasionaly as a change. I normally only superset the last set I am doing for that muscle. That is when i feel really fatigued but I want to put in the killer blow. Baz
Yes they are to give you the added extra and not every set you do every time you train. I vary how often I do them. Sometimes I might do them with every set but mostly I will only do them with the last set. Baz
Is it a good idea to do one set of one excercise, then the next set for a different excercise, and keep on repeating until I get to 5 sets? So I alternate after every set between different excercises.
I stick with mainly one exercise. That way when my body hits the wall and will not impove for me I can change. This gets the muscle going again. If you do too many different exercise eventually it will be used to all of them then when you hit the wall and you will what are you going to do. Baz
You can use the pull up bar and get a really good bicep work out. Hang from the bar and your grip must be about 4" apart with your palms facing you. Then lift yourself up till your chin is level with the bar. Lower yourself slowly and you will be using the biceps to lift and lower your body. Try to do about 4 sets of 10 reps. Baz
I think the rule of thumb about the proper weight to lift is, if your form starts becoming bad, you might be using too much weight. Form is more important than weight, because it prevents injury. Lifting a vary heavy weight may do the ego good, but it might do the body harm. This is especially true when, folks try and lift a weight much heavier than they should.
Thanks, it occurred to me after watching more than a few folks on youtube using bad form. Of course, you see this in the gym too, where someone tries to impress others by how much they can lift. Of course, you should compete with no one but yourself. I think the added pressure of being on camera also encourages some, to go for heavier weights, than they normally would use. My problem with this is, it teaches those watching bad form, so they can end up hurting themselves.
You are absolutely right with this. Egos certainly do play a big part in people trying to do what is not right. You have to stretch your self to get growth that is a fact. It is fine to push the limit with 1 or 2 of you last few reps of an exercise. It goes all wrong when you see people straining too much from the first rep. I think common sense plays a big part to training. Baz
I always try and give constructive criticism, in a non-judgmental, condescending, or harsh way as that just ends any communication right there. Unfortunately, some youtubers don't understand this and will actually put down someone, call them names. Of course, others are just jealous, so you just have to keep that in mind, lol. Sometimes I do have to laugh at the comments though, like the guy puting down a guy for curling 50 lb dumbbells, saying he could do more IF he was in shape, lol.
I have learned the hard way that, if means never just like the word when. So, if you want to make change, don't use words like if and when, use words like today and now. So, when I read the word if in the guy's put down, I knew it had to be some fat jealous guy who knows nothing of weight lifting/strength training. Keep up the great work.
Yes our words do mean a lot. I normally do not take any offense to negative comments about size or how people believe the training should be done. I do remove name calling and insulting stuff. That serves no purpose apart from showing the persons poor background and upbringing. It is a pleasure and so worthwhile to have such great support from so many people like yourself. Thank you. Baz
I work with people every day teaching them how to use the mind to get good results. I help them with self development and motivation. That is how I earn a living. I also teach that there is not such thing as constructive criticism. Criticism is criticism and often not wanted. There is not problem giving advice when asked. Most people unfortunately offer advice when it is not asked. Most times it is only the other persons opinion anyway. You are right with the many experts around though. Baz
I disagree, if someone is doing something in a way that may lead to injury in the long run, or in the short run, informing them as to how to avoid doing so is important. Some people just can't take advice/constructive criticism. Students in school revive constructive criticism all the time, be it writing, art, music, or athletics. Those students who are able to set their egos aside to actually listen and learn from such advice, will apply it and improve on their weaknesses.
Those who are unable to listen to constructive criticism/advice are often doomed to repeat their mistakes. I have had people close to me who were shouting out for help, but the walls they had built up prevented them from taking advice, even from specialists. It was not till some years later that, they were able to except that which they knew was true all along. I have even known people who were fired due to an inability to except advice/constructive criticism on the job.
Most people forget that, besides condemn & blame, criticize means to appraise, evaluate, to to make judgments as to merits and faults. Most people don't like being judged, but if a more experienced person comes up and says, the way we are doing something is wrong because of a, b, c, & the right way to do it is a certain way or ways because, the results will be a, b, c, successful people will be open to such advice & try it out themselves.
Criticism is bad when, someone judges others too harshly, unfairly, & in a manner that tears the person down. For example, a teacher who lectures a student about his poor performance in front of other students. This is the criticism I see too much on youtube. When the situation is neutral, such as someone's exercise workout, such behavior is inexcusable. If its a response to a hateful video or hateful comment, an emotional reaction can understandable, but usually just adds to the bad situation
The wonder of life is we all have our own opinion. Often giving advice and criticism causes the reverse effect and you can help others in many other ways. We never know it all and our way is not always right. A parachute works best when it is open and that is how the mind should be. Baz
I like your metaphor, mind if I use it? The metaphor I use the most is, life being like climbing a mountain, with easy and rough spots, and how once you get over the not so hard spot, you know you can take on slightly more challenging spots, & so on, until you can face the real challenging things. Also, it seems like you haven't gone that far, till you look back, & yet you can look forward & still see you have a long ways to go. Helping others on the trail is akin to helping in life. Take Care.
It can apply to many forms of success, from financial, to overcoming addiction, and even overcoming a bad childhood. Unfortunately, many self help books are more about setting up the reader to read the next book, rather than helping them be self directing, self empowering, and able to stand on their own feet. Obviously, people need help at points in their life, and a self help book could feel that bill, however too many don't teach folks how to move forward in life.
Thanks for the comment. I believe you need a minimum of 48 hours rest before you work the same muscle again. The reasons why a person will not build is to do with how you eat. You really need to eat well to build. I will send you some ideas on how I train. Baz
I have a quick question. I am gonna do heavy weight low reps like you said, but after I cannot do the heavy weights, would you recommend me to lower the dumbbells to 25 pounds and do as many reps as I can so it can give me a lil better workout and rip my muscle tissue a lil more?
I had no deltoid as it was used in an operation a long time ago and have had to build it from nothing. I normally use dumbbells. Thanks for the advice. Baz
If that is the only arm exercise you are doing then I would do around 4/5 sets. I am not sure how big you will build because you are doing a lot of reps. You can only try and see how you go. If in about a month you are not happy with the progress then change. That is what I do. Baz
hi baz,plz tell me how to superset when i do 21's,bcoz its 21 reps not 12 reps...and also for concentration curls, bcoz when u do to a one hand other hand is resting..so when i move to the other exercise it really works for just one hand..thanks
When you do 21's at the end of them you just go straight on to 12 reps preacher curls or some other curls as the superset. It is always a problem doing supersets when you train one arm at a time. I normally do not try to do supersets when I am training one arm at a time. Baz
I need a plan, Ive started training im 30 and Im on a high protein diet. Im trying to lose fat around my waist and off my ass and gain muscle and tone everything else. Im naturally a muscle toned person so it shouldnt be so difficult. Its just finding the right workout to do, and nutrition. Any help would be much appreciated. Keep on with the helpfull videos.
I will send you what I use. I would get off the high protein diet it is not very good for you. I have managed to lose fat and build muscle using the plan that I will send you. Baz
Sorry my friend it was a special offer 2 months ago. You can get it if you go to the website that is at the end of this video. It is very cheap for what you get. Baz
great vids i just wanted to know when i lift weight do i lift to failer and do 3 to 4 sets each or do i do a certain number of reps for each set at the moment i am lifting to failer in each set
12 reps reduce weight to weight of 8 reps. (I battle from 7-8 reps) It is possible to go to failure here too. Go straight on to a superset of 12 reps (no rest) with another exercise for the same muscle. EG. Chest - main exercise; bench press superset; incline fly's.
I then have a 2 minute rest and go on to another muscle. I hope this helps you . Baz
mate your unreal.. ive been looking through the comments and i think youve replied evey single one.. nice work mate your a good bloke. mate ive been researching on the net because i go to the gym but i dont really know what im doing.
im 6ft 4, and 75kg and my main goal is maybe a 6 pack and abit more bicept on me arm.. what would you recommend? should i do weights like deadlifts, curls bench press etc.. or you think crunches pushups jogging etc? if you could hit me back thatd be great. alex
Gee thank you very much I really hope I have not missed anyone.lol. I will send you a good plan that I use and you might be able to get some ideas from that. Baz
it hink it is great to have a gentleman like you to help rookie bodybuilders. Great tips, great knowlegde i hope you will keep on doing what you are good at mr.bassil. Doodie
Hi Baz, another great video thanks alot! 1 question for you. When I superset by doing two 2 sets backup to back ,should I then take 30 seconds rest before going onto another 2 supersets like you showed us or take no rest?Hope Im making sense,Thanks, Gerry :)
Thanks you for the compliment. A superset has not rest at all between the back to back exercises. If you choose to do more than one lot of supersets then you have a bout 1 minutes rest between each lot of supersets. I hope that makes sense. Baz
hi buddy, thanks a lot for all d videos of workouts u have put there.this video has helped me in gaining the strength and muscle expansion as u have told b4.keep on the good work pal.............
i dont have time to go to the gym so i work out at home. i dont have all of those equipments like you do though. what do you suggest to someone who dont have those equipment and want to build up their chest and arms with only two 10 lbs dumbells and one 15 lbs dumbell and dont have money to go and buy more equipments.
You would get away with a very cheap gym ball for a bench. As for the weight you need to improvise and make up weights with bags filled with bottles of water tied to a pole etc.. It will all work if you want it to. It is not ideal but will work. It is best to invest in a good set of weights. They are not that expansive. Baz
i was told by my friend was does physical fitness studies at school that at my age (16) i should be able to lift 10 kg each arm... when in reality i could only do 5 kg
My friend that is just theory. You are born with a certain number of muscle fibres from birth and we are all different. You can strengthen those and make them grow and that is what body building is all about. Before you train some people might be able to lift 10 others 5 and still others 20 it is all up to the number of fibres you have. Training will make you much stronger and give you growth so really do not worry over that information. Train for yourself and you make the difference. Baz
supersets r great! i always get a good pump doing them. i just put three 5 pound weights on a curl bar. do 10 reps, take 1 of the 5's off. do 10 more and so on until u have no weight on it at all. then do 10 with just the bar. then u go back up if possible =]
What you are doing is not quite supersetting it is more of a strip- set training which I just really like as you can get and amazing pump from doing that. Baz
I will send you what I do and I think it might help in the areas you want to train in. You will have to eat right and then it is absolutely possible and you will build muscle, tone and gain strength. Good luck. Baz
Thank you very much for the great compliments. Supersetting does abit of both. It pumps more blood into the fibers forcing them to grow and also has a slight aerobic effect to burn a bit of extra fat. I think they are awesome. Baz
You can start using your own body weight from about 10/12 but to lift weights properly you need to have let your bones fully develop and that is around 16/17 Baz
Calories are the value assigned to food. It is a measurement like inches for distance. Calories measure amounts for food value. If you put in too much and do not use it, it will cause fat and if you put in too little it will use muscle as fuel. That is why the amount and what you eat when training is so important. Baz
Thanks for your great videos =)! Anyway - I prefer to do "antagonist" supersets - I used to do biceps/triceps excersize with no rest in between (and I mean 1 set biceps, 1 set triceps and so on). That way you always train one muscle, and the other one relaxes.
Thanks for the comment. I am sure this is working for you and that is what it is all about. Doing what works for you. There are many different ways to train so it is good to try a few and find what you believe to be the best for you. Baz
THANK YOU BAZ!!!!

I am a woman and I have to say that your videos are such an inspiration even to women, well, at least to me! Thank you again and I hope you will come out with lots more videos.
Cheers from Frankfurt.

@0302jackie - thanks very much for the really wonderful compliment. The kind of training that I do is fantastic for women too. Baz

The1295theo 1 year ago
@The1295theo - You are nearly at the age where you can really go for it. For now I would do lightish weights with 12+ reps. Gor for about 5 sets for each muscle. This will help you to condition your body and get a good foundation to build on. Baz

how does a super set help in traning though ?
rkyitn 1 year ago
@rkyitn - when the muslce is working hard and it is tired then you need to make it go the extra mile. Doing a superset is a really a good way to do that. It will force the muscle to adapt and grow. Baz
BazBlog 1 year ago
What a nice fella! One question. In the video, the two excersices you supperset are basically for the same muscle. Am I right? If so, I think I wouldn't have much power left to do the second one right after the first one. How about doing bicep right after tricep? Please.
jiajiahairui 1 year ago
@jiajiahairui - thanks very much for the compliment. Yes that is the whole purpose of doing a superset. It is to push the muscle to the very limit so it has to adapt and grow. If you let it off the hook so to speak and do a different muscle then at the time the muscle needs to really be pushed you stop. Baz
BazBlog 1 year ago
@TheKingPasha - that is the problem with just losing weight. You need to lose or gain weight sensibly. Then you will look good when you get to the size you want. I would suggest you have a look at the nutrition video for some eating ideas and you will need to put in some good training so you can build up some lean muscle. If you need a training plan let me know and I will send you one. Baz

Gabmiggy 1 year ago
@Gabmiggy - thank you very much. I do not know too much about Westside training and am sure you would know much more about it then I do. I understand it is to get the weakest muscle strong so your overall lifts can be more. I think it is good and must work or it would not have been invented.
KapitanAndoy 1 year ago
@KapitanAndoy - you certainly are not starting a war. Each person has an opinion. I personally would do it with my hands flat on the floor. It is the way they have been done from the beginning of time. I am sure he has good reasons for doing it the way he does and I am sure that will work for him. You must do what you feel is right for you. There are lots of little gimmick things you can use with press ups but a lot of that is for sales. You will not damage anything doing flat hand push ups. for a superset, should I do 5 of them in a row?
TheNewRiflemanBob 2 years ago
You can occasionaly as a change. I normally only superset the last set I am doing for that muscle. That is when i feel really fatigued but I want to put in the killer blow. Baz
BazBlog 2 years ago
so I should do a super set at the end of my training every day? Because I work out a different muscle every day.
TheNewRiflemanBob 2 years ago
Yes they are to give you the added extra and not every set you do every time you train. I vary how often I do them. Sometimes I might do them with every set but mostly I will only do them with the last set. Baz
BazBlog 2 years ago
Is it a good idea to do one set of one excercise, then the next set for a different excercise, and keep on repeating until I get to 5 sets? So I alternate after every set between different excercises.
TheNewRiflemanBob 2 years ago
I stick with mainly one exercise. That way when my body hits the wall and will not impove for me I can change. This gets the muscle going again. If you do too many different exercise eventually it will be used to all of them then when you hit the wall and you will what are you going to do. Baz

Baz I only have a pull up bar can tell me how to bes work my biceps?
BobbiRaye1 2 years ago

This is especially true when, folks try and lift a weight much heavier than they should.
whitecubguy13 2 years ago
That is extrememly good advice. Thanks very much for your support. You have put that over in an excellent way. Well done!!! Baz
BazBlog 2 years ago
Thanks, it occurred to me after watching more than a few folks on youtube using bad form. Of course, you see this in the gym too, where someone tries to impress others by how much they can lift. Of course, you should compete with no one but yourself. I think the added pressure of being on camera also encourages some, to go for heavier weights, than they normally would use. My problem with this is, it teaches those watching bad form, so they can end up hurting themselves.
whitecubguy13 2 years ago
You are absolutely right with this. Egos certainly do play a big part in people trying to do what is not right. You have to stretch your self to get growth that is a fact. It is fine to push the limit with 1 or 2 of you last few reps of an exercise. It goes all wrong when you see people straining too much from the first rep. I think common sense plays a big part to training. Baz
BazBlog 2 years ago
I always try and give constructive criticism, in a non-judgmental, condescending, or harsh way as that just ends any communication right there. Unfortunately, some youtubers don't understand this and will actually put down someone, call them names. Of course, others are just jealous, so you just have to keep that in mind, lol. Sometimes I do have to laugh at the comments though, like the guy puting down a guy for curling 50 lb dumbbells, saying he could do more IF he was in shape, lol.
whitecubguy13 2 years ago
I have learned the hard way that, if means never just like the word when. So, if you want to make change, don't use words like if and when, use words like today and now. So, when I read the word if in the guy's put down, I knew it had to be some fat jealous guy who knows nothing of weight lifting/strength training. Keep up the great work.
whitecubguy13 2 years ago
Yes our words do mean a lot. I normally do not take any offense to negative comments about size or how people believe the training should be done. I do remove name calling and insulting stuff. That serves no purpose apart from showing the persons poor background and upbringing. It is a pleasure and so worthwhile to have such great support from so many people like yourself. Thank you. Baz
BazBlog 2 years ago
I work with people every day teaching them how to use the mind to get good results. I help them with self development and motivation. That is how I earn a living. I also teach that there is not such thing as constructive criticism. Criticism is criticism and often not wanted. There is not problem giving advice when asked. Most people unfortunately offer advice when it is not asked. Most times it is only the other persons opinion anyway. You are right with the many experts around though. Baz
BazBlog 2 years ago
I disagree, if someone is doing something in a way that may lead to injury in the long run, or in the short run, informing them as to how to avoid doing so is important. Some people just can't take advice/constructive criticism. Students in school revive constructive criticism all the time, be it writing, art, music, or athletics. Those students who are able to set their egos aside to actually listen and learn from such advice, will apply it and improve on their weaknesses.
whitecubguy13 2 years ago
Those who are unable to listen to constructive criticism/advice are often doomed to repeat their mistakes. I have had people close to me who were shouting out for help, but the walls they had built up prevented them from taking advice, even from specialists. It was not till some years later that, they were able to except that which they knew was true all along. I have even known people who were fired due to an inability to except advice/constructive criticism on the job.
whitecubguy13 2 years ago
Most people forget that, besides condemn & blame, criticize means to appraise, evaluate, to to make judgments as to merits and faults. Most people don't like being judged, but if a more experienced person comes up and says, the way we are doing something is wrong because of a, b, c, & the right way to do it is a certain way or ways because, the results will be a, b, c, successful people will be open to such advice & try it out themselves.
whitecubguy13 2 years ago
Criticism is bad when, someone judges others too harshly, unfairly, & in a manner that tears the person down. For example, a teacher who lectures a student about his poor performance in front of other students. This is the criticism I see too much on youtube. When the situation is neutral, such as someone's exercise workout, such behavior is inexcusable. If its a response to a hateful video or hateful comment, an emotional reaction can understandable, but usually just adds to the bad situation
whitecubguy13 2 years ago
As I said we all have our own ideas. I really like this last post about judging others. Baz
BazBlog 2 years ago
The wonder of life is we all have our own opinion. Often giving advice and criticism causes the reverse effect and you can help others in many other ways. We never know it all and our way is not always right. A parachute works best when it is open and that is how the mind should be. Baz
BazBlog 2 years ago
I like your metaphor, mind if I use it? The metaphor I use the most is, life being like climbing a mountain, with easy and rough spots, and how once you get over the not so hard spot, you know you can take on slightly more challenging spots, & so on, until you can face the real challenging things. Also, it seems like you haven't gone that far, till you look back, & yet you can look forward & still see you have a long ways to go. Helping others on the trail is akin to helping in life. Take Care.
whitecubguy13 2 years ago
I like what you have said. A good way to look at life. Baz
BazBlog 2 years ago
It can apply to many forms of success, from financial, to overcoming addiction, and even overcoming a bad childhood. Unfortunately, many self help books are more about setting up the reader to read the next book, rather than helping them be self directing, self empowering, and able to stand on their own feet. Obviously, people need help at points in their life, and a self help book could feel that bill, however too many don't teach folks how to move forward in life.

I have a quick question. I am gonna do heavy weight low reps like you said, but after I cannot do the heavy weights, would you recommend me to lower the dumbbells to 25 pounds and do as many reps as I can so it can give me a lil better workout and rip my muscle tissue a lil more?

hey Baz i noted your left delt looks to have more mass the the right one
a good way to address this issue is to stop using a barbell for a few weeks that way there's no way one deltoid can compensate for the other.

I had no deltoid as it was used in an operation a long time ago and have had to build it from nothing. I normally use dumbbells. Thanks for the advice. Baz

how many sets i need to do for 21's per sesion?..thanks for all the help u giving me!!
supuner1 2 years ago
If that is the only arm exercise you are doing then I would do around 4/5 sets. I am not sure how big you will build because you are doing a lot of reps. You can only try and see how you go. If in about a month you are not happy with the progress then change. That is what I do. Baz
BazBlog 2 years ago
hi baz,plz tell me how to superset when i do 21's,bcoz its 21 reps not 12 reps...and also for concentration curls, bcoz when u do to a one hand other hand is resting..so when i move to the other exercise it really works for just one hand..thanks
supuner1 2 years ago
When you do 21's at the end of them you just go straight on to 12 reps preacher curls or some other curls as the superset. It is always a problem doing supersets when you train one arm at a time. I normally do not try to do supersets when I am training one arm at a time. Baz

great vids i just wanted to know when i lift weight do i lift to failer and do 3 to 4 sets each or do i do a certain number of reps for each set at the moment i am lifting to failer in each set
rickynw26hd 2 years ago
I train slighly different and go to failure on only 1 set in my training. I train every muscle the same. 1 Minute rest between sets.
12 - 16 reps very light warm - up 12 reps heavier
10 reps heavier
8 reps heavier
6 reps heavier. I struggle to lift from 3 rep this could go to failure and often does.
Continued
BazBlog 2 years ago
12 reps reduce weight to weight of 8 reps. (I battle from 7-8 reps) It is possible to go to failure here too. Go straight on to a superset of 12 reps (no rest) with another exercise for the same muscle. EG. Chest - main exercise; bench press superset; incline fly's.
I then have a 2 minute rest and go on to another muscle. I hope this helps you . Baz

318r3c08 2 years ago
You would get away with a very cheap gym ball for a bench. As for the weight you need to improvise and make up weights with bags filled with bottles of water tied to a pole etc.. It will all work if you want it to. It is not ideal but will work. It is best to invest in a good set of weights. They are not that expansive. Baz

RompYa 2 years ago
My friend that is just theory. You are born with a certain number of muscle fibres from birth and we are all different. You can strengthen those and make them grow and that is what body building is all about. Before you train some people might be able to lift 10 others 5 and still others 20 it is all up to the number of fibres you have. Training will make you much stronger and give you growth so really do not worry over that information. Train for yourself and you make the difference. Baz

What exactly are calories? And how do they affect muscle growth for weight lifters?
GreatestRockyFan 2 years ago
Calories are the value assigned to food. It is a measurement like inches for distance. Calories measure amounts for food value. If you put in too much and do not use it, it will cause fat and if you put in too little it will use muscle as fuel. That is why the amount and what you eat when training is so important. Baz

tylertheguitardude 2 years ago
You can strengthen them by doing some forearm training and another very good exercise is squeezing a tennis ball. Baz

Thanks for your great videos =)! Anyway - I prefer to do "antagonist" supersets - I used to do biceps/triceps excersize with no rest in between (and I mean 1 set biceps, 1 set triceps and so on). That way you always train one muscle, and the other one relaxes.
elendiel 2 years ago
