there is NO _regular_ speedlimit on german highways, blue square street sign with a white number in it are placing speeds, 120 for example (remind they are everytime in kilometers per hour, not miles!) if there is a rounded street sign with white ground, red edge and black numbers this IS a speedlimitation! for example "120" "100" "80" or "60"

if one of these signs are crossed with a beam, this means the limitation and the placing speed is abolished, and you can drive as fast as you can or want
