John's Familie hat ihn mit einer Flasche Weihwasser begraben die dazu führte, dass John zwar als Untoter aufersteht aber trotzdem die Seele eines Menschen behält.(Erinnere dich an die Mutter Oberin Mission, in der du ihr einen "normalen" Untoten bringen musstest, damit sie ihn mit Weihwasser bearbeiten konnte.)

I dont think the ending should have gone like that, the whole Mexican mask thing, I reckon it should have been that "unknown stranger" with the top hat from the original game who started it all, and when John became Undead John he fought on the undead army's side, trying to rid the map of survivors. The ability to attack and eat people, survivors scream and run away or fight you. The towns would have hordes of SURVIVORS attacking trying to rid them of UNDEAD instead of it being vise versa.

Undead Nightmare is another part of history. It could be an alternative part, but the end is the same: Marston dies and here revived as a "undead whit the soul of a man".
