@KingofComputing I didnt say I judged it by the gameplay??? I actually have both versions on both computers and im saying PC is a bit smoother even though they are the same. They have the same effects Engine and Tricks.... Its all over again but this time on mac.... They actually should stop fooling with macs (which are made for internet Movies, Pictures and work..NOT GAMES) and they should make a half life 3 or Ep3...Whatever they desire
@MegaNexusGaming this was only recording at i think 15 frames per second. it was only the medium level recording quality in quicktime x. it plays smoother and looks better than this recording usually. unfortunately i no longer have the x1900xt so i can't retest on highest settings. i know that my 7300gt wont do it when it streaks just playing back full screen HD in final cut pro
@EnterNumberHere it's been a while since i've played this but i'm assuming you mean when you use the right mouse button? if that's what you mean then you must still be in the illusion that macs don't have a right mouse button when in fact for over half a decade now they all have. Every intel macbook or macbook pro, and every apple mighty mouse or magic mouse does. the laptops do a two finger click and the mice themselves have a physical second button you turn on in system preferences.
@XXTheRealMcCoyXX in my experience and my opinion yes, considering that an x1900xt is no where near as powerful as a hd 4890 and that they both look almost the same on the same monitor which has been on both computers i'd say that it does but that's because OpenGL has always been better than DirectX so they handle the cards differently. If both ran on windows i'm sure the 4890 would look a lot nice but they don't so operating system wise i think that the mac games look cleaner and smoother.
I was thinking more about the OS, it stands to reason that Snow Leopard would run Mac hardware better than windows on bootcamp. But the actual game would be a port to mac from PC... So it needs to run glitch free on a different format.
@rhashad88 i used quicktime x screen recording, but if you didn't have snow leopard and just leopard you could use screenflow or camtasia:mac, if you're using windows then try camtasia studio, or fraps.
@MaximumGamerMedia Why you buying a Mac Pro for gaming? I hope your not buying it just for gaming. What a stupid waste of money. A £4k Mac Pro vs. a £4k Alienware for gaming....the Alienware would shit all over it.
@edb1980 ok. number 1, alienwares overheat unless they are equipped with liquid cooling. number 2 i bought the mac pro because i am a film editor and do lots of special effects in after effects and edit with final cut pro, both applications that use lots of ram, run on the mac (final cut exclusively) and needed the 16gb of ram. number 3 a mac pro equipped with a 5870 and a quad or 6 core xeon would be just as good if not better for gaming.
@KingofComputing Ok 1) so im glad to hear you use your mac pro for professional applications. 2) Alienwares will always be better for gaming then a Mac Pro, alienwares do not over heat, I have owned one and its never overheated. Actually if you google "Mac Pro" overheat you will find that they overheat. Anyway a single 980X will with triple SLI, and tri-channel RAM will be better for gaming, not to mention a larger slection of games out for them.
@edb1980 1 thank you. 2 yes, fb-dimms are slower but at their clock rate on mac pro's of now 1333mhz the performance impact should be minimal. mac pro's will get hot yes, but i've never had mine over 150 degrees, and if it were to get much hotter than that i can turn the fans up manually with smc fan control. with all fans at max rpm the thing will stay at 100 with all cores slammed. in windows 7 in bootcamp, any pc card will work just not the mac side. (gtx295 for example)
