Aida Nour is such a great teacher and dancer, one of the best!
Many egyptian dancers have western influence especially in the classical oriental style (example Samia Gamal, Naima Akef) and also many arabic dancers have western names like Dina and Lucy and the other way around. I think that this is a wonderfull thing, These worlds can learn each other so much, lets embrace that! With love, Leana
I love to see zills being used ...but after the Surgery on my hand I can no longer use them. Doomevil...have you ever stopped to think that maybe the dancers of other countries give themselves Arabic names out of respect for the origin of the dance they love. Also dance comes from the heart....do you here people from America or England saying that people in the arabic countries should not dance our way to modern music that they should stick to Belly Dancing....NO YOU DO NOT. You need to chill
@magdalenatsapos Bellydancing is something natural for Arabs, not something they learn!!! It's really funny to see others trying to copy Arabs and even give themselves Arabic names!!! How amazing...
@magdalenatsapos Yeah...We always hear foreigners talk EXACTLY like you! Thinking that they have gotten the grasp of it! Unless you're one of us, you will NOT be able to get it, live with this and accept it. And please, tell your "fellow" bellydancers to stop using ARABIC names.
@DoomDevil I really hope you, as an Arab, have never done ballet, flamenco, salsa, samba, hip hop, waltz, tap dance, swing, charleston, burlesque, tango, schuhplattler, meringue, jive, twist, rock'n'roll or any of those other foreign dance forms whose essence you will never be able to capture. If you have, please stop trying, as you will obviously never get it. Don't even get me started on yoga, karate or taekwondo.
On one hand why aren't you happy, that foreigners like your culture, your music, your dance, and try to learn it?
On the other hand, maybe you are right, maybe it's funny when foreigner bellydancers use arabic names. (although they don't hurt anyone with this). It's just as funny as arabic girls, using blue/green lenses and trying to turn their black hair to blond.
So pls ask your girls to stop trying to look europen. :)

It looks to me a practice video. You know, the type to see how you do and what you have to improve on. My classmates do it. I think it's a good idea.

Sorry about that. I didn't know she was practicing.
Anyway she is doing a great job.
Congratulations !!!.

This is obvious a danceworkshop recording. A student who wants to remember the choreography recording Aida, the teather and choreographer.

you might find it better if you spell it "Tamr Henna". It's from the film of the same name starring Naima Akef.

Great to see cymbals being used! So many of the Egyptians don't seem to utilize them much in the modern style.
