  • Great video series. Nice job.

(yes, I did watch all these in one go.)

  • heres a tip ,,instead of buying roadbed cork strips,,check your auto parts supply stores,,rolls of sheet cork for making gaskets is cheaper,,i'm on a budget, lol,,also,,for weeds and wheat,, 'farmers sisal rope',,cut into 1" , or height needed, works great.

  • when i get back into it,,i wanna do mine all steam era,,love the steamers

maybe a logging an old town layout,,N scale

  • great videos man, some great tips for my own layout i'm creating and cool UFO

  • hey man nice layout thanks for the series, but you should suspend the ufo above the circle =D

  • Great and informative series of videos. Congrats on the layout too!

  • Great job on the how too! I am just starting out and seeing how its done is very helpful. Did you make a vidio onhow you made your switching yard?

  • I'm doing a e-z track Thomas and friends layout.

  • I view all your videos of "how to build a layout from start to finish" and those videos are very great and your layout too. I like it!

    (excuse me for my english)

  • more trees. also use natural things from the woods. real dirt . saves much money. great layout but colors and mirco details add so much. Birds and other animals. wish i had my owm layout but can never afford it and do HO diaramas. make power lines and actually run the electricty thru them to houses

  • Well I have seen all the vidios in the series and for what it is worth I salute your whole attitude . It dose not matter if things are off scale or not in keeping in time .

I am starting my 6th Layout and in it I will have everything From car crashes to illeagl Raves !!! I will definitely be pinching your UFO idea!! Totaly awsome! The main Idea will be late 20th century , but with a preserved Railway so I can run what I like when I like ! and 2 fingers to the die hards out there , play on!

  • Great series, i thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks for the great tips, i will try to incorporate your tips on my upcoming layout.

  • I found out that the Walthers Heavyweight Cars need more than just a slight trimming of the center sill, If you take off the truck from the car, you'll see about a scale foot what looks like the tip of it with two indentations, I took a chisel and removed the indents and then put the truck back on. ( You can see my modified 3-2 HW Obs Car converted to a business cars, at " Golden State Runbys, by areakt).

  • Thanks very much for taking the time and patience to make this sequence! Much appreciated! Don't care about the grieve people give you for you openness and candidness of your mistakes. You clearly have a lot of fun, and willing to share what you learn! Keep it up! Awesome!

  • Awesome video James! Could you send me a link to the video of you running your Nickel Plate Road #765 please? I couldn't find it.

  • @TomedysTrains Thanks! If you go to my test track site which is user id modelrrtesttrack you will see it.

  • wow

  • comming together great!!! i like your layout,im more of a steam and old diesel person, but the quality pulls you in!i love it,you have regualare up freights and like excursion trains with restored steam locomotives,i really like if,gets me thinkin,i have watched all your updates but i cant remember if you talk about the acuall grass effect i .i just have a green flat paint down but want to put in some actuall texture for grass,if you have any suggestiond for that, and what to use to make water?thx

  • Conclusion??? You're not done....it's never done :)

  • why don't you paint the track rails?

  • Gread vid

  • is that Scene setters .com?

  • you should move the silos by the yard and build and build a grain facility so you can load your cards.

  • Looking great man 5*****

  • Thanks for the great series!

  • lol love the crop cirlces.

I'm trying to get back into model railroading but I like the swiss marklin style layout. too bad they are so expensive.

  • nice solar panels man...we got them EVERYWHERE around my place

  • Have you ever considered putting your backdrop around the inside edge of the modules instead of all the way along the back?

  • Nice layout looking forward to seeing some trains running on it

  • No offense, but you are never finished with a layout..

    Also who films you?

  • woah amazing layout!!!

  • Just a thought, but you could possibly fit a small cell phone vibrating alert motor inside those windmills. Just remove the counter weight and attach the spindle to the blades.

  • Its been great watching all of the videos of your new layout from the beginning but if its not too personal, how much did you spend not including track engines or cars?

  • Great way to wrap things up!! I like the details that you have added and that steam engine looks nice!! Keep the videos and reviews coming!!

  • Steamers allways make a layout nice.

  • windmills cropping up everywhere, new aspect to model rail , good one

  • Nice additions.

Good camera work, annonymous camera person. ;)

  • the ufo is siiick!

  • UFO, Cool. I have a waybill for a reefer on my layout were you deliver a cryogenic freezer from Roswell NM, to Groom Lake NV. The cargo is listed as a biohazard.

  • turned out very nice! great series. thumbs up to you sir!

  • Some things you should be aware of, Athearn's California Wine Train is totally inaccurate, except the paint job, The actual train runs Alco FP4A Diesels that were former VIA Rail locos, you can make your own wine train, And the Passenger Cars were Former D&RGW " SKI TRAIN HVYWT Cars I'd used repainted and decaled Walthers coach cars and the obs car is named " Aurgonaut " I believe.

  • @HunterR909 I am already aware of the innacuracies. It is probably the worse set I own as far as quality and accuracy. But I bought it just because I rode the Napa Valley wine train and wanted a keepsake of sorts. I doubt I'll put any more money into it. I might add sound to the engine....and thats a big might!

  • Tell me Jlwii2000, what are your curves' radius?

  • @HunterR909 30 on the outside line and 28 on the inside line.

  • AMAZINGNESSS!!! i have to try the new green energy thing

  • Awesome job you've done there, now enjoy running your trains!

  • fantastic stuff dude! love the UFO! nice SP patching!

  • Did you not hear him he's going to do what ever he wants to do

  • awesome layout but lose the whole UFO thing.

  • @elr2141979 hold on here, are trying to tell HIM what HE should do on HIS layout? really? Have you seen till the end of this video? and the other video he mentioned!

  • @drewzdrew27 no.

  • @elr2141979 Why ? Thats the best part. I would have skipped the windmills and solar panels and added a coal fired power plant for coal trains.

  • @quimbyt I like the idea of a coal fired power plant, I might just do that! Thanks for the suggestion.

  • did you preorder overland's up lone star observation car that thing looks sooo nice

  • @thomasandrocky yes I did. I'm anxiously awaiting it to come in!

  • @jlwii2000 if i had to order any type of brass up exscursion car that would be it well that and because i cant find the idaho track inspection car or the fox river inpspection car

  • Nice Layout, did you ever look at putting a working crossing

  • I think I'v watched all your videos in this series, and enjoyed them all thanks!!

  • Awesome! great job on the layout. Whats this other channel you've got?

  • @TamiyaRunner modelrrtesttrack is my other channel, i just use it to test out sets and locos

  • Wow! Awesome video! Great looking engines. Keep the vids coming!

  • Wow dude nice layout!

  • I like the crop circle.

  • is that the new one you have been talking about

  • @JasonsStories new engine? no its coming later this summer
