I'm in a bad spot. I just bought a cheap bike. It rides ok, but what the hell is up with the seat? Its fucking HARD and it hurts the bottom of my ass. Why are bike seats designed like that? And going over a bump is like taking a baseball bat to the taint! I gotta get a new seat.

Best saddles by far are the Brooks leather ones, once you have broken yours in you will never look back ;-) and it will last you a lifetime with care. I have a B17N, love it, rarely notice it when riding.
