  • why do so many videos get re-encoded by youtube and have bad audio video sync?

  • To see this part with working, synchronised audio go to:

    watch?v=5QI-r2EcQ5Y

  • Very enjoyable,as far as it lasted.

  • Oh, Kukkaisrinsessa. Thanks for posting this documentary, it was wonderful!

  • OUT OF GODDAMN SYNC

  • Seems the sound is missing from the last third of the segment 6.

  • You really have to credit the Germans for truly creating music that was unique to Germany alone. I prefer the Can and Neu! stuff to the more electronic Kraftwerk and Faust stuff, but I was always impressed by their creativity and ingenuity.

  • David Bowie never did Krautrock!

  • @HyperMediums

he did everything he could get his mits on

  • Thank you for posting this documentary! I learned a lot from this.

I think it's actually kind of funny that audio cuts out right when it gets to the commercial flowering of Krautrock. The irony being that the audio has been disrupted by the corporate music industry. Sometimes art is accidental.

  • Whos interested in hearing Bowie or Eno anyway they are both plagiarists! Both made a career stealing others ideas and image!? WMG can keep them!

  • @MysterCD Who did they plagiarise from?

  • @MysterCD SACRE BLEU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MysterCD SACRE BLEU!!!!!!!!!

  • WMG = Wankers Making Green.

  • fucking wmg, bring back the audio nau!!!!

  • fucking fuckers! where's the sound????

  • WMG can go to hell.

  • I know this is probably irrelevant, but I wanted to find out the names of the songs. If anyone can remember the songs from previous views before the audio was taken. I'm you'll know hat

1.) the part where the're tlaking about david Bowie. the one with drums, piano and Harmonica playing

2.) The song Cluster play in the end credits

if anyone can name those songs, I will be very grateful. Thanks!

  • @DeadWhiteButterflies - "1) the part where the're tlaking about david Bowie. the one with drums, piano and Harmonica playing" I think it is David Bowie - A New Career In A New Town from the album Low 1977.

  • Internet just go out from the hands of the greatest music emporiums. I hate those Warner Schlagers

  • Warner Brothers - wake-up to the 21st century or be left behind...

  • I am going to kill WMG with my own bare hands.

  • Watch this video with audio here: (YOUTUBE)/watch?v=OmRR-KodSoM

  • @KybernetikKollektiv

Has been deleted! but here another version of part 6 (YOUTUBE)/watch?v=5QI-r2EcQ5Y

    thanks for this docu!

  • @KybernetikKollektiv

    Don't bother

"This video has been removed by the user. "

  • How funny, I watched 1-5 of 6 only to find 6's audio is disabled. Funny, funny, funny.

  • Destroying a documentary for a few seconds of Bowie sniplets??! Sadists!

  • noooooooooooooooooo

  • This is a BBC documentary, not a music video! This is short-sighted censorship at its worst! All people seeing this will get very very upset with WMG.

  • Fuck WMG... fucking corporate arseholes.... theses officious little fucks should do an Amun Dull double album and jump off a goddamn cliff, the cunts....

  • Bastards.

  • future artists plese dont sell your soul for corporations. and warner go fug your self

  • Warner are so lame.

  • Dear WMG. Please go FUCK yourself!!!

  • very childish WMG - fuck you very much !

  • Comment removed

  • Cheers WMG - I'll watch the rest on Veoh, meanwhile I WILL buy music of CAN / NEU & TANGERINE DREAM - from my local record store (and have already) as you at least allowed to watch the first 5 parts??? sort your shit out... why scrub it ???

  • Watch the whole thing on Veoh.

  • WMG suck. Don't they realise that by exposing people to this music, they might then go out and buy the back catalogue of some the groups.

  • Could you not re upload this as 4 smaller segments, 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d. That way, youtube can only cut the audio for 1 or 2 minutes where the offending track is contained

  • Kiitos paljon tästä.

  • shame on utube. shit on wmg. great documentary thank you

  • booooo!

  • fuck you warner brothers you stingy bastards,

  • BOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BOOOOOO!!!!!!

  • BOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BBC makes documentaries of great value but YouTube's censorship is a shame!!!

  • Boycott WMG

  • How F#@*in Qu##r to disable the audio on the last segement of the film. certainly does an injustice to the entirety of the film and the artists closing thoughts.

  • KRAFTWERK

    the best

  • why destroy the documentary as a whole ? i thought I was a great film until part 6... I don't mind that the music is copyrighted or whatever.. but I want to hear the artists talk about their history !

  • what a crock of shit.

  • chico pero porque la ultima parte?

  • Guess I'll just break out my old analog synthesizer and create my own soundtrack.

  • boycott wmg !!!

  • WMG=NAZI.... thanks for reminding us with your jack-boot to the finale.

  • Tja

da hatte ich mal den sechsten hören wollen - tja - davor hatte ich ja nur 5 teile reingezogen - da fand ich dat ijanz ok - that the letze teil war irgendschwie nich frei fir de deitsche

  • BULLSHIT ON THE AUDIO. I hate when they do that.

  • Look, Youtube/Google, are making a buttload of money off the backs of others who did the actual work. They are making way more than the music industry is, and are contributing to the destruction of tha tindustry. But of course everyone blames the music industry and Youtube knows this. They just say WMG won't let you listen, those evil people. They never bother to mention the millions that they are making selling ads because of other people's work available here.

  • @Truthzilla Well, if we're thinking of dollars here, what about the millions of listeners who may invest in this strand of music they may never have encountered before? I'm sure the businessfolk who've been creaming it off artists for the past 70 years won't starve...

  • Well, if the businessfolks who 'creamed' off the artists, after having provided the revenues for the artists to make the music and whatnot are evil, then what about Youtube who did nothing to help the artist but makes huge money from selling ads to people who come here to hear those artist's work for free? What does that make them? But of course everyone automatically sides with Youtube, because you get what you want for free from them, though they are far worse for musician's lives.

  • @Truthzilla Are you any more likely to boycott Youtube than I am to weep for Warner Music Group's losses? This is silly.

  • It's not about boycotting, it's about legal protection of one's property. Youtube cannot continue to be allowed to legally reap massive profits off the backs of others without compensating them for it. That's not at all silly. It's fundamental to our way of life and any sane sense of fairness. As to WMG's profits, where you think that the money to fund new acts comes from? Labels that make far less profits fund far fewer new groups.

  • @Truthzilla get a clue dipshit. Massive profits. Exactly. NEW Acts ? Where are they ?

  • I'm sorry, you'll have to actually form a coherent question before I can answer. What exactly are you trying to say?

  • @Truthzilla That's coherent enough for the master of truth, i'm sure.

  • It doesn't require a master to understand that the 'truth' is that a whole generation of people have grown up who just assume that they have the right to steal anything that they can get from the web, without any concern for the damage that they are doing to the people who work hard to create music, movies, and software. You've gotten so used to it that, when it's pointed out how completely immoral you've become, you become a bunch of whiney babies and blame everyone but yourselves.

  • @Truthzilla It is certainly somewhat radical to presume that we are "stealing" this documentary and all of the music herein. Whenever a farmer whistles a copyrighted tune, is he required to toss a dime at the creator of the tune? Though you may believe that all art should be thrust into a vacuum of capital and profit, not everyone agrees with that belief. Therefore, go elsewhere (preferably in a corner) and question who the "whiney baby" truly is.

  • The stealing comment wasn't wrt to this documentary, that was about music in general. The problem this documentary is that Youtube gets rich and the people who make it and own the material get squat.

  • @Truthzilla Except that Youtube doesn't make any money - it loses millions for google, who make all their money advertising on search. It's us who gets rich on all the good stuff we get to see - if you like some of what you hear in this doc then go out and buy it so that the people who made it don't get squat!

  • @nichanwa The people who SOLD Youtube to Google already got their payoff, and they new they were a juicy buyout target because of the illegally uploaded content. The e-mails of the folks who were running Youtube, gotten as part of a lawsuit show they knew perfectly well what made their product a buyout target.. And of course Google didn't buy it because they expect it to be a money loser long term. Google very much expects to make it a profitable site, and claims that's very close to happening.

  • @nichanwa And of course Youtube puts up a message that WMG is preventing you from hearing the soundtrack. They know then you'll see exactly the kinds of posts that you see here, damn WMG, etc... They SHOULD be putting up a message that says, this is llegally posted content. The person who posted it broke the law, you are stealing it. But of course that wouldn't make them money, so they blame it on the only people who are actually innocent.

  • @Truthzilla Well considering I already paid my licence fee to the BBC who presumably paid to licence the track from WMG that isn't actually the case. Plus, a company like WMG needs to understand that if they act like this then they will end up being seen as the bad guys, they have asked for the video to be removed because it contained some of their artists tracks as background music, they need to get real and start being a bit more generous if they want people to listen to buy their main product

  • @nichanwa This is about the wider complete loss of respect for the rights of people who create intellectual property. There's more music stolen than purchased these days, and it's getting worse. Youtube is just a particularly visible example. If people are so blind that they think that the bad guy is the only guy who is losing out, then they are just believing what they want in order to justify what they are doing.

  • @Truthzilla The issue I have with this is quite simple. Record labels insist they lose money to bootlegging and then spend all kinds of money to stop it when in reality the best way to stop it is to just release it.

Even more interesting is that they seem to do this only to thought provoking music. I don't see them shutting down Madonna, Fall Out Boy or Lady Gaga fan vids. Just something to consider.

  • @BognarRegis What do you mean by 'release it'? If you think that doing nothing will stop downloading, you are fooling yourself. It'll just get worse. As to the good music vs. commercial music, well you have to understand that the people who sell good music are usualling having to actually make their money selling music. The people who sell commercial music are just using the music to sell other things for the most part. So downloading hurts quality music most of all.

  • @Truthzilla so you are saying that the fans of smart music should have to pay while the fans of brain candy can get all they want?

I smell a rat here. Keep the board written big corporate stuff free and available to rot the brains of the masses and make the ones who like something more difficult pay for their entertainment. If I didn't know better,I'd think you were sloganeering for the RIAA.

  • @BognarRegis What? No matter what is said, you will turn it into some kind of conspiracy theory. If you create music to create a brand, in order to sell other things, then you are going to care less if the music sells or not. If you make music to sell music, because you care about music, then you have to make money on the music. If people steal it, it hurts far more than if your purpose is to sell perfume or toys. How you can turn this into some pro RIAA statement is beyond me.

  • @Truthzilla

It's people like you who murder Jews in the millions.

  • I'm arguing for doing what has been considered the right thing for millenia, i.e. don't take other people's work without compensating them. I'm struggling to figure out how doing the right thing leads to murdering Jews in millions. You'll have to explain the connection there.

  • dear WMG- fuck you.

  • I want to know when you can get audio -I must finish this!

  • @ kukkaisrinsessa : HELLO THERE !!

i've just read about a possible option to RECLAIM YOUR SOUNDTRACK, ..well héy, you never know ;-)

    3) Click at "I want to learn more about the dispute process" and then "Take me to the dispute form"

    5) Fill in the rest of the form and send the claim.

    good luck !!!

  • Fuck that! We cant enjoy watching the last part of the documentary.

  • If WMG had ANY brains, all they had to do is link to a paysite to show the last piece. That way they would get their precious money, and would not piss off everybody.... Well, at least not as badly as they do now.....

  • really don't uderstand WHY those fuckers are doing that ...??!! Documentaries like this one should have been for free for everyone, sponsored by a governants. It's about our childeren and about a culturall bequest, not about fuckin' bussines!! This is the shame and avidity...

  • Damn, this is really pissing me off! What's the point? Documentaries like this will make people buy the music after watching it, but not if we can't hear it!!!???

  • any1 know how i can see the final part of this great doc? superb stuff, thank god for the bbc, fuck Warners Music, u bunch of stupid corporate pig bastards. whats the point letting us see and enjoy 5 of 6, jeez just give us the whole thing!! i bet every1 on this are like me, real genuine music fans who spend most of their time and money (most importantly for u guys!) on music, so come on, hows the point in this crap warners, ur just pissing ppl off!!!

  • damn! i was really diggin this!

  • We can not have music, a world heritage site, is excised from the mercantilist interests of a record company

  • I really agree with cheeezdoodle. The 5 episodes are really great and Warner make no advertising by this way !

    Shame on them !

  • Yes, WMG is just shooting themselves in the foot, I am now NEVER buying any of their products. Also, the more people hear wonderful music the more they want to buy the music.

We all listened to these 5 (great!)episodes. It is an outrage that none of us can see the conclusion of this series..

  • Thanks for the gesture, WMG! It's good to know whose products are to avoid at all.

  • come on !!!! you dont have to disable the whole fu**king video!

  • Gibts ja gar nicht!

    Was soll denn der Dreck?

  • tell those people at the wmg what you think of them: go to the contact section of their website (not allowed to post the link here) and drop them a line!

  • Is this evan legal? Are we the bad guys? I mean goddamn. FUCK WMG

  • I cannot believe That I sat through 5 glorious parts of this documentary for the 6th to have no Fucking audio. Shitmonsters. I love this doc, and I cannot believe they banned the audio. I'm sooooo annoyed.

  • N ooooooooo!

  • May the person who disabled the audio for the finale of this amazing BBC documentary BURN AND ROT IN HELL FOR ETERNITY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @deloreanschuur megavideo[dot]com[slash]?d=QRGWI7UY

  • Absolout!

  • Jihad on you, Warners

  • Why can't YouTube use a more intelligent solution and just mute the parts where these so-called "unauthorized" snippets of music appear?? Or does WMG think they own everything in these videos? Who wants to hear the crap WMG and the other dinosaurs put out anyway!

  • DAMN

  • SUPPORT FILE SHARING TERROR!!!

  • So annoyed. this was a great document. I will buy the music, don't worry about that. The added dimension that I am now listening to Cluster on Spotify for free, following my watching the first 5 parts of this film. makes it all the more ridiculous.

    Copyright kills a lot.

  • Here is the deal with the copywrite, as I understand it, because it affected my band and other bands on our label as well. Warner recently bought ADA, who basically has a search bot searching out potential copywrite infringement. For some reason It apparently has wrongly frozen upload or modification privledges of many youtube and myspace music players, that WMG has no authorization over, including my band and other label-mates on Thrill Jockey. It's totally nuts! No response from them too.

  • Forgodsakes, get thru 5 chapters then nothing for the final, give me a break

  • @jazzless2001, ..find the full BBC KRAUTROCK documentary (on a temporary) solution at my wordpress blog.

got wrongly '$p^m' flagged in my comment below here : ..it seems someone doesn't want me to show you this final part.

  • @fokrobot Thanks a lot for the MV solution so I could see the whole documentary. Also thanks to the musicians, the BBC and the filmmakers. No thanks at all to WMG.

  • There is absolutely, guaranteed, the very worst place in hell reserved for whomever made the complaint/threat to YouTube that blocked this part of the video. Suffer forever, scum.

  • Damn, that sucks.

  • its the reason those big mega coprpo must disapears they are like a a cancer on this earth they are only in it for the greedy pocket and File sharing is gonna be their demise...

  • Like the rest isn't full of music?! This is educational, you can't rip the songs and sell them.

It might actually bring you in contact with new music. And they apparently are the right holders so they would benefit from people buying that music they didn't know before.

  • Sweet Jesus what greedy bastards, Warner Shame on you!

  • thanks kukkaisrinsessa! hope part 6 clears sometime soon! sooo good!

  • hi kukkaisrinsessa, hope you really manage to put back the last piece! and who cares about roxy music...

  • Argh, Warner on aina vienyt käsitteen "tekijänoikeusrikkomus" pitkälle.

Thanks for the upload though, it's always cool to know the roots of electronic music.

  • Kraftwerk's music is owned by Warner apparently

  • retarded motherfuckers! they just dont get a fucking thing do they

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I'm going to guess it was the Roxy Music trackm Wikipedia says they were on Warner.

I saw this documentary a few months ago, and have since purchased 4x Kraftwerk albums and a Neu album directly as a result, specifically because I saw them in this documentary. After seeing what has been done to the last part, I vow I will NEVER buy a Roxy Music album. You hear that WMG?

  • Thanks for your research,

I might try to re-upload this part later this week, just have to mute the Roxy Music part or something.

Hope the WMG is happy now.

  • Fuck Warners. Copyright-addled retards.

  • I can't believe I just enjoyed the first five parts, only to be halted by this crap!!!

  • Comment removed

  • What a letdown, 5 parts in and the 6th has no sound due to a ridicoulously old-fashioned take on copyright adherence. Could someone upload this to the pirate bay? Thanks to the uploader nonetheless!

  • FUCK WMG!!! PIGS BURN ///

  • FUCK WMG

  • jesus christ! WMG go to hell!

living in the USA is hell on earth enough, fucking BBC America only show that program where that gay idiot called Graham something interviews celebrities, why oh why can't they show these documentaries

    kukkaisrinsessa, you're a hero!

  • FUCK WARNER MUSIC GROUP

  • 1st : thank you KukKaisrinSessa, for all yer upload work ! ..2nd : part 6 is MUTE, due to WARNER MUSIC GROUPs soundtrack boycot for the tiny part of David Bowies melody samples in the documentary background, ..cash per nano second: this is what art and culture is about for these scrooge monopolists. it would even be true 'commercial thinking' if they'd give people a tip of the veil and taste (of eg. Bowie) in order to sell more of their own artists, BUT HÉY, IVE POSTED A SOLUTION above here ↑

  • Don't buy anything they released by WMG (Warner music group).

    BOYCUT WMG!!!

  • Thankyou WMG for protecting us all from the dreaded bogyman that is copyright infringment.. I can now rest and sleep at night you UTTER B*****DS

  • that's why i hate copyright

  • hallo? hallo?

  • Please, reupload this part!!!

  • Goddamnit.

  • WMG FUCK YOU

  • ha ha - I was specifically thinking of Armenian pop that I hear when I go into their markets.

  • Poor Betina ;). But here are of course lot's of german people who know and enjoy german psychedelic music these days. And this era is well documented. But it's the same thing with every kind of music that is not mainstream: You have to be passionate and search for it. For instance: If you say to people you like to listen to electronic music - most of them think of cheap '4 to the floor'- mid 90's techno. They have no clue that this music exist like almost 40 years and split into multiple genres.

  • Thanks a lot for uploading this excellent documentary!

  • I LOVED this documentary! It is so sad that most of us only get to hear the real artists in retrospect instead of when they are still producing their music. There could have been so many fans willing to buy those records their sound had been publicized better. Oh well, we had to make room in the press for "artists" like Bobby Sherman, right? Makes me wonder what we are missing now.

  • based on many of the local artists I know, who are amazing, and multiply that by every town in the world, it's clear we're missing out on loads of great stuff

(does that make sense, poor grammar, sorry)

  • I ABSOLUTELY understand you, and I agree completely. In my town, I can see top-quality music any night of the week, but that does not mean the major record companies will sign them. I would gladly spend my entertainment dollar on quality over hype, but it is tough for no-budget bands to promote their work, even with the internet.

  • thanks u for this video!!!:)

  • Thanks for posting!

  • Fantastic!

  • I love this documentary. Now I think the british people know more about the german music than the germans...

The british TV is more interested to show the "real" german music from Kraftwerk or of krautrock. In the german TV you can allways just see the "Schlager of today": the stupid german rock/pop-Musik.

  • Stupid pop music is always pushed like crazy in the media of all cultures. You don't realize how very stupid it is until you hear it in a variety of other languages and notice it sounds the same as in your own language.

  • Yes, but sometimes distance is a good fllter. Cases in point-the Saints being signed in the UK before their own country, and more to the point as Julian Cope pointed out the germans picked up on the Velvet Underground before they had any major influence in the US/UK.

  • Many thanks for uploading. Gave me an insight in Krautrock I´ve never had before cause I`ve only dealt with Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze.

  • so not only did Bowie swipe the Krautrock vibe, but he did the lyrics in German. way to be a douche, Dave.

  • thanks for posting!!

  • what's the song at 2:40?

  • Bowie's A New Career In A New Town from album Low

  • could have lived without bowie.. but no ash ra tempel :(

  • @elmedi0 Yeah, too sad Ash Ra Temple weren't interviewed here. But still an excellent documentary!

  • Especially since they already had Klaus S being interviewed; they could've asked him a few things about ART while they were at it.

  • thanks for this..

  • tHx 4 tHe uPloAd

  • thanks for the upload...
