There are only two kinds of people in this world. The ones who think there are only two kinds of people... then everyone else.
Btw, I liked the idea of "interplay -vs- contrast". But when you contrasted the option of pleasure -vs- numbness, wasn't that a false dichotomy?
I prefer to see life in terms of paradoxes which transcend such dualities. Eg Accepting the need to struggle. Or, Struggling to increase your ability to accept things. Etcetera
@Loreleila - Very true In my experience, the really useful insights tend to be a paradox which transcends an apparent duality (Such as above, with struggle or acceptance) So, what wd you call that? Taoism? Dialectics? I think it could be useful to have a label, cos that makes it easier to refer to, and also to connect with other people who have been working along similar lines - eg fellow Taoists (Except that everything I've read on Taoism has been mince... except for a few, like A.C.Graham :-)
@mickmle1 I've never been able to label. I can appreciate what you say regarding communicating or connecting with others who think similarly, but while I've explored and travelled through many, which all contain kernels of this, I don't see how you can restrict that which by its very nature defies limit. But sure, Tao, Zen (which I've been 'accused' :P of being a number of times), or any other non dual philosophy or way of thinking and being can be useful in exploring with others.
I thought I'm the only one, who is thinking that way. Most people don't get to the point, when you are about to create your world. Find new definitions, that maybe are only true for a few people. Thank you so much!!!
I completely agree with you and I try to explain this to people all the time but no one seems to understand what I'm talking about. Now I can just point them to this video! hehe. Thank you for sharing! :)
We live in a spherical universe despite the navigation of the poles, Hobbe's toyed around but he failed. Tbh though Loreleila I never did understand your fear of Duality even though there are definite contradictions, nice views, so much more to ask but i can wait... mentally, thanks for your thoughts.
yeah bad choice of words 'distaste' is what i meant there's so much I dont understand, the more i learn the more confused I get and I just cant seem to get it right at the moment. It's difficult to communicate in this forum.
@urquiza78 No worries. I just want to help people see how unreal it is, because it causes most of the conflict in the world, makes people feel a lack, separate, and to not be able to get beyond its limiting and limited structure.
We certainly do seek out patterns. I think that's evident. I'm wondering if I might need to make a video response because what I want to say is way more than 500 characters hehe.
@tattooskin72 If you do that would be good. It is evident, but it's odd how the mind of man can see the complex patterns and still try to shovel them all into one of two places.
yes, it is concepts (all concepts) that are dualistic, not 'reality' itself (although it obviously includes concepts). This is why nondual spiritual traditions contain ideas about the way words can only ever 'point-to'/imply 'ultimate reality', 'the tao', 'brahman', 'god'(in the pantheistic sense)... But that they are never descriptions because any description is a limitation.
But saying "all concepts are dualistic" (which is true, inasmuch as anything is 'true') is not the same as simply talking of opposites. It's more about how 'things' can only have distinction because of what they aren't.
you could have an anti-matter tree.....our tree would be negatively charged the opposite tree would be positively charged and there would be nothing betwixt or between.....so put that in your negatively charged pipe and smoke it ;)

(Generally, though, a good vid :-)

@mickmle1 I wasn't contrasting the option pf pleasure versus numbness, I was constrasting the option of feeling/not feeling. So no, probably not.
I too see paradoxes everywqhere, in fact finf often they are where the essence of reality lies.

In other words there are many shades of gray between on and off...
phekwig 7 months ago
@phekwig If on = birth and or creation and off = death or destruction, then probably, yes.

@AutumnPerception :) You're most welcome. Not the only one perhaps, but one of the few. And why that should be I really don't know.

@SummerStitchinWitch You're welcome. :) It seems as if some can see this and some can't and it's incredibly hard to get across to those who can't.
