  • 1:20's pot also houses an azalea and, I think, a myrtle. Is is a mixed planting (seikei) with the trident maple over rock.

:30 is a Willlow leaf Ficus

    1:25 Creeping Hydrangea

    1:57 Ginko

2:03 is John Naka's artistry and it's a San Jose Juniper

2:09 is a Father and Son style (a personal favorite) and I think it is a fir, but can't quite pull it out of my head right now.

    1:16 a Japanese maple.

BTW Canabis is not a grass nor a tree.

  • What is the tree at 1:20. please :) nice vid btw ;D

  • @nerdykid136

That would be a Trident Maple, one of my favorite varieties of trees for this art form. The leaves have 3 points instead of 5 like most maple leaves.

  • @nerdykid136 1:20 almost looks like canabis^^ a weed bonsay would look pretty cool but it wouldnt work because canabis is not a tree but a grass

  • Very nice. Thanks for posting this. The music is pretty good, too.

  • I would like to know the name / genus of the "grove" or "tree" at 0:17. It looks like an aspen grove or something. Wonderful images, thank you for sharing :)

  • impressive, some works of beauty, but it would be nice to know the genus names of each plant. I feel left in the dark. was hoping to both see beauty and learn something. had both elements been included, you would have warranted a 5-star rating. absolutely lovely collection though...well done.

  • that is a lovely collection there can see the trees are very well taken care of.

  • the one at 3:14... SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL

  • What's the bonsai type at 1"16? I would be very gratefull if anyone could help me...

  • It's a Japanese maple, not lace-leaf, just standard. You can reduce the size of a leaf to 1/4 of the original with regular pruning. This is why plants with small foliage are desired to begin with. You certainly would not want to use a canadian maple because the leaves are VERY large to begin with. Another popular maple is the Trident which has 3 prongs.

  • man i luv japanese maples how'd u get all these cool bonsais? did it take long to make them pretty? :)

To answer your question imhotep, I saw a bonsai go for 1000 USD on ebay. Some of those trees can be 100 years old. But the fun part is making one yourself!
