  • OMG BA SING SE!! :D

  • I don't see Ba Sing Se in this vid! Ba Sing Se is round!!!!

  • The creators used The Forbidden City as a reference for how they wanted the ideal Ba Sing Se palace to look like. Also, Chongzhen was the last ruling emperor of Ming Dynasty China; it you be hypocritical for an emperor to revolt against his own throne right? Hence, Long Feng would not resemble Chongzhen, BUT more of a Li ZiCheng, because he lead the rebellion against the ruling power of Great Ming Dynasty.

  • its a long long way to ba sing se....but the girls in the cirty, they look so pretty!

  • @soufside420 they kiss so sweet that you'd really like to meet the girls from Ba Sing Se......

  • but ba-sing-se is round..and this is ..well rectangular. juss saying i cant really hear what ur saying cuz theres no audio. LOL

  • the only thing simalar of ba sing se and the forbidden city is the arctectural design

  • yeah well Avatar is actually historically accurate. it takes most of its stories from things that happened in history itself. if you watch the series, you can point out different things that really happened.

  • it's beijing? ^^

i thought it was the forbiddeb city xD

  • cool but is Peking

  • welcome to ba sing se, city of walls and secrets

  • always thought so. Nice to know.

So I guess this means that Tokyo is the fire nation capital. The sun benders live in tiewan. The water tribes r the N & S pole. The marsh water benders live in south east asia. The air nation is Tibet.

  • then we must go to ba sing se...we must save the earth!

  • "They don't call it Na Sing Se!....That means penetrable city.."

  • its Fa Sing Se

  • Oops my bad, I was thinking the guy said Na in that episode.

  • Yeah, I'd like to drill that wall

  • Ba Sing Se: Just west of Beijing.

  • Not so surprising, considering the Forbidden City has been cited as one of the biggest onspirations for the design of BaSingSe.

  • ba sing se is round

  • lol iwas gonna say tht... yea its rounded. but it is kinda cool tht they prob based ba sing se off of it.

  • ba sing se in ancient china was an impenatrable city just like ba sing se in avatar

  • cool....

  • he said long feng sounded like some name there but what about long fang i mean he is preaty close with the dai lee

  • Cool! We actually actually learn stuff while watching Avatar! Mike and Brian spoil us so.

  • omgz!!! i do that for twilight!! i looke up forks AND la push. they're REal!!!!!!! that's awsome!!!

  • You know, this reminded me about my trip to China this summer. I was there actually three months ago! When I went there, I WAS SPAZZING OUT. I went to the Forbidden City, knew about the creators basing Ba Sing Se on that, and found out that they even had a "puppet king" there in real life.

  • oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well duh it's from china and avatar is from china!

  • Yes,it is.

  • Avatar is US based (Mike & Brian are from the US, and they are the creators), the animation is made in Korea. The culture is mainly Asian based (FN, EK, but not the WT), but you cannot say it is pure Chinese (well, the used characters are)

  • wow i can't beleve the creator snuck some history in us!

  • dai lee-means police in ,Chinese,i think,ill check again.

  • That was to xxSweetAnimexx btw

  • Isnt Ba Sing Se A lil bigger o.O?

  • umm how do I put this.... well DUH!!!!!!

WHERE IN THE WORLD DO YOU THINK THEY GOT THE NAME FROM!!?!??!?!?

  • Sorry but really. Most people don't know that! No need to be rude. And to let you know, it isn't THAT obvious that Long Feng and Ba Sing Se come from random chinese names and Beijing. When you know it, they do resemble each other but it's not DUUUH!!!! obvious. No offence but, learn some manners...

  • This is where the olympics take place

  • Wow! Show us more stuff like that!

  • isnt that where the olympics takes place

  • Cool!

  • yeah....as a Chinese myself, i've always noticed that Ba Sing Se was based on forbidden city, and the creators made it COOL~ =)

  • Omg that is awesome

  • Noone doubted that Ba Sing Se was based on disign of ancient China. Actually I was in forbidden city in 2002, it took whole fucking 6 hours to walk around the City, I was so fucking tired

  • whop de fucking doo

  • Oops... I spelled "based" wrong.

  • wow... I noticed that Ba Sing Se was baced on the Forbidden City when I first saw the episode... Just look at the Meridian Gate

  • same with me :), even though i think it was kind of interesting.

  • FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!!

  • ok...the forbidden city.... across the street from tian an men square...i knew about it ..but it never cam to mind that it looked like ba sing se...pretty cool info...but i think it only looks like the palace...not the actual city....it would be hecka cool if they actually found a place that looks exactly like ba sing se.... with the actual rings and everything.....[but like thatll ever happen]...LOL

  • sweet ur like an investigator

  • This is really cool. Thanks! ^.^

  • yes, samirgeneral is right. Don't care what they say because this was awesome! They creators did use a lot of real life experiences from asian culture and such. (They also used a lot of elements from other animes too)

I think that's cool you found that!

  • I got a life a week ago :)

  • lmao!

    Anyways, nice observation!
