  • This guy is a complete douchebag. Sounds like he told the service adviser a different story.

  • Had a problem with my Audi a4 cabriolet B6 Transmission. Took it it parramatta audi (Australia) and got a result that said i needed a new transission module which will cost $4500 AUD. I was just shocked and he had the nerve to say that its only a 4 hour job. the module was $2200 and the rest for labour. I researched and found a transmission workshop down the road. Got my original module reconditioned and restored, labour and 1 year warrenty for $950.

  • @mr2142 it happens man if you want name brand you gotta pay for it

  • Well the Techs do not make 110 bucks an hour , they make about 26. the shop makes that amount. The flat rate system is killing the industry . If one tech gave a bad estimate on a fixed / trick you assembled broken sunroof . well you tricked him. if they charged you check out time yes you were entitled accurate opinion . I have been a Mercedes tech for 30 years most all of the techs i have worked with are honest .The problem is the dealers system of FLAT RATE PAY SYSTEM . …...

  • @GPMAICO219 Honda never believed in the flat rate system because it sacrifices quality? In this video, this guy is a jackass and intentionally setup these guys to make a drama scene. He has his own agenda for this entire video.

  • Looks like a setup to me

  • Motherfuckers!

    good for you man.

  • All dealerships are like this. I took my pontiac to quebedaux in Tucson years ago. It was there for a minor recall, and a warrantied service to my harmonic balancer (which I had to pay more than the harmonic balancer and service should have costed in co-payments). I got the car back completely f*cked up. Appearantly they forgot to put the bolts back on the passanger side of the under carriage. It was an easy fix, but they denied it and wanted to charge me $500+ to fix it.

  • mistake or no mistake wouldnt you be mad if some supposed reputable dealer did that to you? i never trust or use big names, its really hard to get a decent trustworthy mechanic,i know theres plenty of decent guys out there, "ive found a fair decent mechanic at long fucking last and he charges for whats wrong and nothing else,my advice to anyone not finding a good service is to get more than 1 opinion on any suspect problem, also dont tell a mechanic what you think is wrong, let them tell you.

  • They aren't trying to rip you off, they misdiagnosed the problem.

Are we to suppose that you have never made a mistake at your job?

    Dipshit.

  • I would get them fired if that happened to me.

  • 7:14 As You Can See... It Works Just Fine xD Shuts Back up on His Neck Lol

  • Any one who owns a nazi mercedes is a douche bag. Get a beamer, much nicer and better service.

  • @MrCalmlikeaBomb A nazi Mercedes? BMW is German too jusy an fyi?

  • good job!

  • Wow thanks for the invaluable report. I had a similar experience at a Mercedes dealership in Connecticut. They told me I needed a new engine module on my MB SLK for $2,500 because my low gas light went on due to a loose gas cap (which also triggered the check engine light).

  • I love how this highlights the complete 180 these "service managers" take. They'll tell you you have to have it.... then 5 minutes later they are telling you they "don't know". This upload is pure. I love this guy.

  • Stealerships!

  • That's why you go to Mercedes Benz in North Vancouver :P

  • Sounds like you shouldn't own a Mercedes. They are not merely cars, but a club you join. You can't get anything done without Mercedes getting something. Those Germans understand the club concept.

  • I went to the dealer to get an oil change when the car was under warranty and ended up with a slave and master clutch cylinder stolen!!!!!

  • ALL auto mechanics are a holes. thats why i never get the oil changed in my car or bring it in for service. whats the worst that could happen really?

  • @Black70Fastback Whats the worst that could happen? Your kidding right?! how about your motor seizes up because the oil is too thin to lubricate the engine components? We're not all a holes, I hope that you at least have enough sense to do it yourself.

  • @dude486 just trollin. i own my own shop

  • @Black70Fastback I had a sneaking suspicion X)

  • good story! but I dont really think the tech is getting paid 110 bux an hour though. - and Id like to know how a rock got in there too.

  • I love watching thieves trying to backpeddle. They always have an excuse to cover their bull shit!

  • this is exactly why i will never buy a new car, or ever deal with a car dealership, i used to have a gto, and went in for some serive, told them not to wash the car, because they always leave scratches, told them not to sit on the side of my seats, so that they wouldnt be all wrinkled up, guess what they did both, got the car back and looked at my driver seat, wrinkles everywhere, i was extremly pissed, and had the proof that they messed up my seat and paint, they wound up haveing to re do my se

  • Liars, crooks and thieves. Robbing you without a gun. ALWAYS get a SECOND opinion and ESTIMATE. ALWAYS!

  • Car Dealerships are scammers. They're out to screw you over for as much as they can. I took my car in for an inspection and was told I needed $700 repairs before it could pass. I took it to another mechanic, not a single problem. Don't go to a dealership folks, find a reputable local mechanic to do your work!

  • is this guy saying that the dealership is waiting for a customers warrentys to expire then they pay someone to go track down these cars and to place rocks in the moonroof to break them? at 5:36

  • @FORZION I'm guessing he's kidding in a satirical way. Either that or he's actually uncovered some massive conspiracy.

  • Atlanta South MB does this crap. They told me we needed $800.00 in parts alone and I fixed the problem in 20 minutes with a test light and a $20.00 relay from a salvage yard.

  • Fading the audio in and out is quite annoying

  • I bought a MB in 2009 and never again. Service is the worst scam of an dealer.

  • @1ncearoundtheblock isnt it 300+ to get you oil changed at a certified mercedez mechanic ?

  • @SleeCee For a fucking oil-change?

  • @Commando303X

yup, same goes with all the super expensive cars, hence alot of the owners do it themselves, bot it will void the warranty .

  • @SleeCee Doing the service yourself will NOT void the warranty. If the dealer requires the service be done by them then they HAVE TO service it for FREE. That's the law.

  • @molson421 my fathers a mechanic, heavy duty.

he changed the ooil on my sisters honda civic vloz and he voided the warranty,if you do it yourself or have someone trained to do it - THEY must be certified by the automanufacturer to do service and repairs.

you can get your oil changed elsewhere, but they must be certified to work on the manufactured brand.

thats how gm --- gm goodwrench- honda happy honda operate.

  • @SleeCee so THAT's how the car industry works huh? it's ALL big SCAM, like a drug cartel where companies gang up and find ways to get more money out of customer, not to help the customer. i am SO GLAD i never owned a car in my life. what a nightmare it must be to work so hard, get up daily, go to work, and then when your paycheck comes, these companies like honda gm and so on conveniently separate you from your money by having cartel rules, never even mind the scams going with false repairs

  • @FakeDodgeViperGuy thats why you obly buy cars, over 4 years old or passed the many manufacturers warranty, example, my first car was a honda civic HB, i could do all the work on it myself, and not worry about the dealership. now i own a 1968 302 mustang. need i say more ? :D

  • @SleeCee I beg to differ. Check Honda's web site; they will tell you all you have to do is keep receipts, and a log to prove maintenance was done and kept in line with the manufactures recommendations. If a manufacturer demands a PROFESSIONAL do maintenance on a vehicle in order to keep a warranty in effect, THEY HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. Do some research; your father and sister were taken advantage of. I strongly suggest (if this was a recent occurrence) that you contact Honda direct.

  • @molson421 it was late 2003 they bought the 04 vloz or whatever, 7 years in unfortunatley is too long to file any complaints or claims. but thank you!

  • @molson421 so

my dad should make receipts up for a job he didnt charge money for, and also did on his spare time.?

that he did at his sweet ass home garage ?

then he'd need a business license, then permits, insurance etc etc.

honda lost me my sister and her ex as clients.

  • How can you afford a Mercedes if you're not educated enough to know that the spelling is TRIES not TRY'S

  • @MEGIDIOT loooool. he changed the title

  • @MEGIDIOT you fycking idiot ...you thing you have to know english before you can buy a mercedes...what a stupid

  • mercedes is a european brand...

  • I remember when the moonroof on my old Benz got stuck open in the Florida Keys on a humid summer afternoon. Not a good place or time to have an open moonroof! I was told it would cost $500 to shut it, but a mom and pop's mechanic shop shut it for $10. I was told the gearbox was cracked and it would cost over $2500 to replace it. Needless to say, I don't own a Mercedez anymore! Thank god... the whole electrical system failed the day I got rid of it.

  • hey asshole, the technician doesn't get 110 dollars an hour, thats the shop door rate, the technician there is getting MAYBE 33.00 an hour if the management team there arn't a bunch of cocks. Get your shit straight before you go on a complete rampage. You've never misjudged something before? Thats an awefully big rock to just pop into a sunroof track. I think your full of shit sir and are just using youtube to show your own one sided agenda

  • @bmw328igearhead Someone's got there panties in a bundle. Jeez, it's just a bloody video.

  • @bmw328igearhead $33 an hour and they can't figure out that a rock is what held up this guy's sun roof? You're missing the whole point. They told him the whole roof rack was junk and that he needed to spend $6,500 for a new one. Well, the roof rack wasn't junk, so they obviously lied to him in hopes that he was another wealthy Mercedes customer with little mechanical knowledge that they could pull one over on. Bunch of greedy scumbags!

  • The sales rep should be an Irish politician. What a jip. Fair play for highlighting it

  • fuck them dealerships.... lying cheating bastards.... and no shame at all!

  • Needless to say, bring your car to a private certified mechanic and have him check it out. Read LOTS of reviews before you show up at his shop cause he could be just as bad as the dealership.

  • This is a corporate facility, which means that Mercedes-Benz owns it and MB will not allow any of their employees, including technicians, to conduct themselves unethically. Mistakes do happen but they are caught and customers are informed. This guy could've been sued for slandering, MB techs don't go around sabotaging vehicles as this man implies. MB parts are expensive and MBs are not for people who can't afford them (this sunroof is 5400 dollars). Parts Germany is making the money here.

  • The book time to replace the moon roof is 4.1 hours of labor. The tech gets paid 4.1 hours at 27/hr but will probably take 7.5 to do it. He'd have to be nuts to recommend this job because he knows he will lose big money. The service department will get 4.1x110=451 before tax. The cost of the roof is then around 6000, getting the picture? The tech misdiagnosed the problem but by no means he wants to do this job (productivity), as soon as he finds the rock he stops or he loses his shirt on the job

  • "....Yah, but this TRUE-COAT!"

  • Hes go to pay for his duaghters college tution.. thats why i do my own work.

  • These things can happen. And let's say that when the Tech does go in to do the work and see the rock, he simply removes it and finds that was the entire problem. This things often happen. All I hear on the video is Mercedes on Broadway, why didn't he promote the other guy who saved him all this money? Typical complainer..... never help the guy who did you right. Morale of the story to the tech: never assume, always diagnose as exact as possible.

  • Comment removed

  • While I am not a fan of the dealer (I am an independent shop manager) I see this situation like this:

The Tech works in the same model vehicle day in and day out and has seen this problem 49 times all with the same result after diagnosis (ie: moonroof pooched). The 50th time he sees it he shortens his diagnostic routine, hearing the motor trying to move the roof to no avail and assumes the same result as all the other 49 moonroof problems. Continues

  • before anyone else talks, find out more about this car and the car business.

You own a high end car, the parts are crazy money.

if you want a car thats cheap to fix, dont buy that $ 86,000 MB.

The service advisor was wrong,he should have looked at the problem ,before he tried to sell you the parts.

    BTW

techs are paid by flat rate, not by the hour

the techs arent paid $110 an hour ,they might get 17-22 bucks.,and most likely were downflagged any diagnosis time he might have been paid

  • That is the job of a tech to rip off the customer.I was working as a tech at MBLN.It sucks

but that is the way it is.

  • BTW the techs are not making $110 an hour, that's the shops labor rate.

  • camera man dumb.auto tech was guessing and not ripping anyone off on purpose,The myth is that this was a rip off.Fact is it was a tainted setup and a hasty diagnoses. find an honest shop and be willing to pay diagnostic fees so that the shop is willing to spend time diagnosing properly/.most mechanics will not diagnose correctly they play odds because the nature of the business being under funded to techs that take the time to be thorough.Fraud? I say no just poor skills and haste making waste.

  • i'll bet the little service station that removed the 6000 dollar rock got a million dollars worth of good will and word of mouth

  • Regular car shops > Dealerships

And for owning a Mercedes, none the less, you couldn't own a better camera?

  • whatever they missed the rock... yea the estimate is a bunch that is why there are multiple places to take your car

if the dealership is that bad they will be weeded out by capitalism

i guarantee the shop that got the rock out has done the same thing before

  • Yup these guys are criminals.. I took my smart car there for a regular service and mentioned to the service advisor that when i turn my car off the stereo stay on. I have to manually tunr it off.... i suspect that at one time the radio was uninstalled and reinstalled when it was reinstalled it was wired direct to the battery and not thru the igintion so that it continusly gets power when the car is turned off.

  • I am glad you were smart enough to get a second opinion!

I live in Vancouver and I'll steer clear of that dealership from now on.

  • ...scammer got BUSTED!...theres no use complaining to the higher ups cuz they are the ones that ok this kind of behavior, thats how they make money...

  • This does not surprise me, Everyone is under the illusion thats right the ILLUSION that all those dumb fucks at the stealership know what the fuck they are doing! I am a 1st class certified mobile electronics tech, and i am here to tell you the dealership has ABSOLUTLEY NO TROUBLESHOOTING SKILLS AT ALL AND BLAME THE SKY BEING GREY AND THATS WHY YOUR TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AND YEA ITS 2000 DOLLARS AND IT TAKE THEM 5 DAYS TO FIGURE THAT OUT!!!!!!!!!!! THIS VIDEO JUST PROVES IT!!!!!! ASSHOLES

  • If he does not have a German accent he is not certified...

  • sooooooooooooo gay !!!

  • BTW, the writers and salesmen will not let the customers talk to the techs because the techs will always tell them the truth...

  • Service writers don't know crap and the salesmen know even less, the techs do the estimates and know the cars.

The sun roofs have alota plastic parts in them, pebbles, leaves, sticks from trees, sand and just plain dirt will screw them up after time. I've had to repair a butt load of them having worked on BMW's for 33 years.

  • truthfully the technician just tells the service rep what to tell the customer, the rep is just doing his job the technician is the one to blame.

  • @jernbek1 ...I am sure that you are right. They probably have a way of writing it up that tells the rep that it's a scam.

I would believe the rep didn't know what was up if he had gone and gotten the tech to explain himself instead of making excuses for him.

  • HBL mercedes in tysons corner did a rip off to my wife. Took our new car in for the 10K service and check. Cost us 467 dollars for a oil change and them to say "it's OK" same service at 20K from a independent dealer cost us 66 dollars

  • @compaq2441 Maybe the one at 467 dollars blessed it. Ya know the back seat. But I am sure that would only be about 2 bucks. Yup them bastards=P

  • @TRYER25 what are you trying to say?

  • @compaq2441 I am saying I agree with you. And making a joke that maybe they blessed it (like I do on peoples trees) and decided to charge ya for it=Z

  • Mercedes have been making excellent cars for centuries.

  • @heartlessvietboy yes, my 1820 300sl still runs like a champ.

  • Service writers are salesmen......who are thieves!

  • Kudos to you sir. Hey , are you an undercover inspector of some sort or was this your own private endeavor? Great job. About 20 yrs ago I took my car foe an alignment. Guy told me I needed $1000 of urgent repairs...tie rods steering linkage etc. I didn't believe it. 20 yrs later and a few lube jobs...still going fine.

  • Who really cares, stick the rock up your ass and drive your benz around.

  • Crooks that is what 89% of dealerships are and I bet thay would just take the rock out buff it up some with a $2 bottle of glass and paint wax too make it look newer than it was(a 15 min job) and NEVER changed the sun roof and hold the car for 2 or 3 days and charged the Man $6500 what a sad joke.

  • LOL I see someone happen they save $6500

  • Good work! Way to get the man! Volkswagen always tried that shit with me I always found them wrong!

  • this guy is a dipshit,

  • So how do I avoid an independant shop doing the same bullshit?

  • @lake122 word of mouth. talk to people. In my neck of the woods, you know who to go to and who not to go to thanks to friends that have there and stuff like that.

  • chevy is better lol

  • How exactly does a rock of that size make its way into the sunroof track? That roof is a $1,000 option yet it cost's $6,500 to replace? Interesting...

  • @Jaidawg80 very interesting.

  • @Jaidawg80 $6500 is a really high price but usally to replace the sunroof frame and motor in a luxury car you have to drop the headliner witch in a honda is 4-5 mins but in a luxury car or suv could take several hrs. I know the option is only $1000 but they are installing it before the interior goes in. Also mercedes benz parts cost alot just a drivers side mirror housing can be $2000 no mirror included. An 09 Escalade cost $2000 for the same part plus labour. $6500 is high but its a dealer

  • sell your mercedes and buy a ford

  • busted

  • What's wrong with the fucking audio

  • I dont know man. It's sort of an unusual circumstance. I have to assume the tech would get in there and see the rock and they would have called you with the good news that you didnt need the repair.

  • That's pretty fucking badass, your my hero dude.

  • NEVER use a dealership to work on any car. Find a good mechanic in your neighborhood and get to know them and send them your business. Dealerships will rip you off and rip you a new asshole.

  • this is awesome...good 4 you! i knew dealerships do that kinda stuff!

  • automobiles are the biggest scam in the world

  • everybody in this film is a jerk off

  • Loser jerkoff dealer staff. Two notches above a Wal Mart greeter. Except they wear ties.

  • ...and you know what, the standalone shops aren't all trustworthy either. Sure, you paid 141 bucks to fix a dealer-quoted 6500 dollars problem, but that's what some of those places thrive on... angry, confused, upset dealer customers... fix their problem cheap, get their business, and stick it to them when it's viable. It's actually kind of sneakier than the dealer.

  • Here's exactly what happened, and it's really sad. The service advisor banks on the techs being up front and honest, but unfortunately, not all of them are. I'd bet that the tech didn't even check out the car, and saw a great chance to do an 8 hour-paying job in 2 hours. Techs that do this kind of shit should be fired, but that requires a G.M. who has balls, and almost none of them do.

  • Clips like these make me facepalm. HARD. OF COURSE IT DOESN'T TAKE A FUCKING MICE TO FIX THE DAMN THING HIMSELF. yislamislame is probably sitting in his basement being a fucking keyboard warrior when he is a skinny idiot driving a POSB Civic.

  • zulu stfu service writers dont know anything about cars they get paid to look smart and da service writer has nothin to do with it being a mercedes this could have been done @ a honda dealer ford any dealer

  • Bate and switch. Take car there, leave over nite. drive home with older seats, or off colored bumper. Mercedes should be fined for THIEVERY.

  • should've bought an american car...

  • moon rocks...

  • not surprising at all

a lot of businesses do this shit, they promote good service, yet their main objective is to screw the customer out of as much money as they can

I'm also guessing that a dealership like mercedes has Commission obviously

which is another reason why they want you to pay more

  • I don't want that last post to seem like I'm singling out any line of work as being more or less valuable. Just a bit upset how mechanics get singled out. Vehicles are designed to appease the buyer, but also to encourage a predictable turnover rate. Manufacturers don't want you driving that same car for 20 years. It's bad for business, you understand. The last thing an automotive engineer would consider is "How can we extend its serviceable life?" Head office doesn't hand out bonus pay for that.

  • I work for an independent automotive repair shop. Always have. Why? Because of the BS that goes on in the VAST majority of dealerships. Dealerships pay their techs by the job. Period. If the dealer isn't charging out, you aren't getting paid, no matter how hard working or honest you are. Techs aren't paid $110 dollars an hour, retard. 95% of ALL automotive technicians in Canada don't even make $30 dollars an hour, that's less than your plumber and probably less than your electrician.

  • 6500 dollars loooool, I'm pretty sure the option when you order the car is 4,000

  • I'm a tech and I usually don't feel like having a customer standing over my shoulder asking how things work-if you want an education go to school. But you have to actually find a problem to call repairs in my opinion.

BTW door rate does not equal tech rate

  • glad you got them...but always ask yourself this , why are those doors always closed when they take your car in for a service in the first place ? are they doing something wrong ? if not why do they not let us watch ? don't use the old insurance wont let us either... camera's the answer ?

  • I work for a Mercedes Benz dealer and that technician should be fired to say the least, and he will if you spoke with the service manager, it's true that texts are screwed all day but, we don't screw the customer like that, many times were pressured to screw warranty so the customers screw ups are fixed for free, dealers do better qaulity work 98 out of 100 times, were more equipped and have more info available Things happen but that's the techs fault and his only,

  • i fix cars for a living and i get people who ask me to just check the work of the dealer and the dealer says they fixed this and that and when i open things up nothings been changed over and over AGAIN

  • I am not in shock to see this happen, very sad of such a brand.

  • Comment removed

  • dude for $6500 you could cut the whole roof off and put a new one on

  • @dewalt23293 lol

  • @dewalt23293 you could buy a whole new nice used car for $6,500 lol

  • @dewalt23293 Not only that , you could get a Carbon Fiber one thats lighter and about half the cost

  • cars have become so complicated half the time techs just use a calculated guess .i blame the flat rate pay system dealerships pay there techs with .being a auto tech is not an exact science theres alot of guess work.the training for techs is a joke. i know i have worked in dealerships for thirty years as a tech.dont hate the players hate the game set up by the manufacturer.

  • anyone who pays for a 6500 dollar sunroof is a fool.

  • Mercedes is extremely overpriced. Shame on them. They should replace parts for free.

  • i been workin on cars for years now, and in order to work at a dealer and "front a store", as you guys have been sayin, still need a mechanical nohow, they arent hired just to sell, they need to know what they are talkin about

  • back peddleing like a muthafucka!!!

  • well in fairness...that man working the counter is just a "front man"....he has no idea if the mechanics are lieing to him or not.

  • Right, but hes not a front man at Nissan or Hyundai.. he fronts Mercedes Benz, what is supposed to be an exquisite automobile and dealership. He should know what is going on with the estimate, like actually look in the car at what the mechanic sees. I guess you have to buy a Lexus to get that kind of attention.

  • to bigchillicamera: assuming he even knows about the "repair aspect" of the vehicles. I see him as like a bank teller or a help desk....all he does is write up the work......he may not even be allowed to question the mechanics diagnosis

  • @bigchillicamera Yup...Lexus FTW

  • @inkey2 come on they do that shit all the time they know what they are doing 90 percent of them are all con artist

  • @ecosby100 I used to work in an auto related business. Other posters may disagree but I do not see how the guy writing up the work order at the front desk has any idea if the mechanics are lieing or not. I mean, would he personally check over each car that he writes up a work order for? I doubt it. He can't be running back and fourth leaving the counter for an hour at a time checking each car.

  • @inkey2 ya because im sure thats this is only time this place has ever done this. You get this from every where if you even call up places and try looking for work lets say a clutch even by calling places for that work to be done they will try ripping you off. With things like o there is alot of parts that are going to be needed when it comes in a kit or just outrageousness prices one place tell me its a 10 hour job come on there all con artist that the name of the game

  • @inkey2 well he needs to get off his lazy ass and go ask.

  • @gsxrbuckeye yes, but the service manager can't go and pull every car apart in the shop to make sure the mechanic isn't lieing....time wise it's just not possible

  • @inkey2 fuck you!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Don't open the roof anymore. Take the fuse for it out. It cost my father $600 to fix his on a toyota that was worth $500. In this economy it's going to get a lot worse. The dealers are all hungry.

  • dude MERCEDES BENZ OF ENCINO IS THE WORST!!! Its run by a bunch of armenian thugs who rip off EVERYONE! Not only that but I CAUGHT them red handed driving my car around for 100 miles!! When they said on the invoice they only drove the car for 4 miles, plus they manipulated the mileage on the invoice. They are so shady. BEWARE!!

  • The people who work at dealerships do not know how to fix cars. They know how to put new parts in. They know how to click a button to order a new sunroof.

A mechanic knows how to fix a car. A mechanic knows how to take a rock out of a sunroof.

  • if he knew there was a rock in his sunroof dont you think he would have mentioned that when he first brought the car in?

  • "they give u a free cofee so while your gettin it in the back your gettin it in the front" HAHAHAHAHAHA LMFAO!!!

  • there are good service advisors and there are bad service advisors , like mechanics and doctors and lawyers and painters etc. You have to find the good ones and stick with them . I have worked at dealerships for many years and have seen the good and bad . there have been only a handfull of mechanics I would work on my car. The advisor in this video was a tool. The one thing I learned in the many years working in the automotive service is never lie it will always come back to bite you .

  • This Guy Look Like a Fool after you got through with him.

  • Oh, and I love the bit at the end where he alleges Technicians secretly search for Mercedez Benz' to put rocks in their sun roofs!! Hahaha! Yeah! And they also walk around with Nail guns to put nails in your tires! Man, how much do you think Mercedez Benz should charge for repairs? Should they charge the same as the Mom and Pops shop down the street? You walk into that Dealershi, their Techs are FACTORY Trained, with the FACTORY Equipment that No One else has.

  • Mercedes dealerships ripped someone off? GASP!!! Guess what, it's a car, you paid too much for a car. Now you're going to pay too much for repair. Welcome to luxury. You could buy used cars for the rest of your life at less than what you paid for that one Mercedes.

  • well...to be fair...that service rep at the counter doesn't know shit about anything....he is just a "front man"...that writes up the bill.

  • @inkey2 im a service advisor myself, and by no means "front man" as you call it should be working there. I am in direct contact with my customers from start to finish, I am required to have proper car knowledge when writting service orders.

  • @xaviervahidy so you would have personally taken his entire roof apart before you reported back to him......um , ok, right

  • @inkey2 I wouldnt have to take his roof apart, i would have called the service tech in question and had his ass on the fire. Instead you see this Mercedes advisor waving his hands around and making excuses for the tech, he is also preaching how these certifed techs have 12-13 years of expertise. all bullshit to cover his ass. we all make mistakes, it about how we handle it to retain customer satisfaction. He should have owned up to his techs misdiagnosis. (LAST) listen, appologize, solve, thank

  • @xaviervahidy WOW....I NEED TO BRING MY CAR WHERE YOU WORK

  • @inkey2 .I feel ya this tech was playing the odds because his shop would not pay him to take the time to figure this out.no win and another idiot trying to vilify a shop that probalbly gets crusified for charging diag fees to cover their time for good diagnoses.Maybe 1 out of 50 shops are dishonest but more are misdiagnosing .Its like steroids in baseball if you dont do it you wont be makin money.its sad but real.

  • New car dealers service deptartments are actual thiefs. They will wring you out of your cash.I will maintain my auto's myself thks.

  • Caught red handed!

  • I work at a Ford dealer.... some of the service advisors can be like this. :(

  • the guy is better of just getting a new car

  • Pretty much all car companys are the same. I'm not surprised one bit about this video.

  • Dealerships make very little from sales. Their income is mainly derived from service

  • The dealer makes $110 an hr, not the tech.

  • It's a c coupe with a pano roof. If it isn't broke now it will brake soon. I am a benz tech (not at this dealer) and and I would say about half of the 203 coupe roofs don't work properly ( a car they should of never built in the first place, thanks chrysler!) and 99% of the binding roofs are broken/slipping cables. My guess is that he only spent 2 minutes looking at it and fuigured that the cables were jamed. Most dealers dont scam but you have to understand they have to cover their ass.

  • I kinda think you have a plausible explanation there. But than that makes the real question, when they started doing the work, and realized it was just a rock, would they have still charged him $6500?

  • If a car dealership employees lips are moving, they are lying.
