I once saw two girls handing out flyers on the street. At first i thought WOW the blonde girl is so pretty. She is so skinny and has nice hair! I looked at the other girl, she wasnt skinny and had an ordinairy face. But then i noticed that the blonde was practically forcing flyers into peoples faces and looked unhappy, something was dead in her eyes. The other girl was laughing and smiling and kind of radiated beauty. A lot more people approached her. Starving yourself wont make you beautiful.
@HippoBackUp you can't eat when the thought of food makes you want to vomit, and because the overall sadness of your life leaves you with no hunger, and the little hunger that you do feel is dismissed because all you can see are all of your imperfections.... don't comment on things that you don't understand
luckly for boys its gaining muscle and not losing fat. I step on the scale every other day to make sure I gained weight (unsuccessfully even though I eat protein, carbs, and amino-fatty-acids, I did gain 2 pounds this week though :D), I count how many calories I eat and if I don't eat enough I drink meal replacements. I work-out constantly. It's ok to obsese over your weight if you want to gain weight. But you shouldn't obsese over losing it..

Anorexia has ruined me emotionally and physically. I may be thin now, but I will be forever cursed to know I don't see myself as thin, but as fat. To know that I am branded with something I didn't know was going to destroy me. Ana may have held my hand as I starved, but she sure as hell didn't make things okay when I would pass out from hunger.

It's a choice that is heavily influenced by feelings of self-worth, the need to feel control and other deep rooted causes, but in the end we are the ones doing this to ourselves. Is it easy to overcome? Of course not. It's a mental illness. But recovery can happen if you choose it.

I step on the scale every other day to make sure I gained weight (unsuccessfully even though I eat protein, carbs, and amino-fatty-acids, I did gain 2 pounds this week though :D), I count how many calories I eat and if I don't eat enough I drink meal replacements. I work-out constantly. It's ok to obsese over your weight if you want to gain weight. But you shouldn't obsese over losing it..

@ileray35 I used to venture onto Pro-Ana sites all the time, and all those people who encouraged me to continue what I was doing was amazingly horrible. Anorexia has ruined me emotionally and physically. I may be thin now, but I will be forever cursed to know I don't see myself as thin, but as fat. To know that I am branded with something I didn't know was going to destroy me. Ana may have held my hand as I starved, but she sure as hell didn't make things okay when I would pass out from hunger.

There's a lot more going on and it pisses me off that some people think having an eating disorder is like going on a crash diet. It ISN'T! These are not the actions of mentally healthy individuals. Being consumed with the idea to be thin until it controls every aspect of your life is not the same as skipping lunch.

It's a choice that is heavily influenced by feelings of self-worth, the need to feel control and other deep rooted causes, but in the end we are the ones doing this to ourselves. Is it easy to overcome? Of course not. It's a mental illness. But recovery can happen if you choose it.

my sister ( aged 15) has got anorexia, we cant do anything for her, we have tried everything she wont listen, her bf has told her she shud eat too, we have also called for help but she wont let them near her, i might be her bro and we dont allways see eye to eye but i cant let watch her doing this too herself, its got too bad now ( she is 15 nearly 16 is 5 foot 7 and weighs 3 and half stone the doctors have said she may die unless she gets help imediatley :(

All I was trying to say was that not all dancers have eating disorders, not all eating disorder victims are dancers, I have dancer feet and they don't look like hers, and her posture could be from multiple things.
