The point of the planes being unmarked is that so the US can think it was Egypt that did it they where Israel planes because only the Israelis fly the marriage in that area since they jammed there reception they knew USS Liberty couldn't notify the american fleet who was booming them so the assumption was Egypt exactly what Israeli wanted.
