Man I miss them good old days. I was 4 in 91. Same year I broke my arm jumping off the tall slide a Fimsical Wimsical . Remember the tall rubber jungle gym contraption that went all the way to the roof at Physical Whimsical? Kids would go to the top and never would come down. Made parents furious! Anyways its nice to see this old footage. If you have anymore of the mall please post it!
@cqlove12 Thank You :-) If you enjoyed this, and have fond memories of the San Jacinto Mall.. Then you might enjoy my tribute video. Just go to my channel and select Tears For A Mall. I hope you enjoy it. I really don't think SJM will be around much longer. Let me know what you think! :-)
wow im only 12 so i wasnt alive, but this mall looks fun! i live like 5 minutes away from it so we go there sometimes. that mall is now DEAD! there is nothing! its so sad :(
Just as I remember it as a kid. We used to go there in the late 80s and early 90s. The fountains had tons of pennies. I had forgotten about the dragon things....very cool video.
So sad the mall is now a shell of what it used to be.
Circus World was awesome. I bought a bunch of Atari 2600 games there as well as Transformers when they first came out. That Walgreens was real cool too. I miss the glory days of this mall.
I loved Lam's Asian imports in the late 80s and early 90s - I bought all my Sho Kosugi posters and ninja stars and swords there. Good times. This was my favorite mall back then. Great food court, too.
Thanks for sharing this! This video is just a little bit older than me. XD I've never been to San Jac mall, I grew up with the Texas City Mainland Mall, that one is still doing okay though.
dude, how did you get a vid that old on youtube? those old time camcorders can't plug into usb drives or anything, can they?
anyway, it's an awesome look back 17 years ago, when gas was cheap, and the soviet union was coming to a close. hey, i was just a little kid, but i remember these things.

This video brings back memories. I see Babbage's at 0:19. I remember buying games there for my Sega Genesis back in 1991.

Also got my Turbo Express there too, it was 299.00 in 1991 !

Okay, so how many of you guys watched this and then realized that 1991 was 20 years ago? In 1991, I was 8 years old!
Great video. Many of these stores don't even exist anymore.

My first job was at that Walgreens register..And Most of the money from it went on records next door from Hastings...
Oh, the joy of rushing back from High School In Houston, to work a 5 hour shift at Walgreens just to have enough dough for Black Flag Record...
