Do you really think those buildings you mentioned are great? I mean they are nice to look at now, but really they are a massive waste of resources and human lives. @bary1234 you are looking at it from a practical point of view. now i'm not a religious man but i think that these buildings are an amazing achievement for humanity if things such as the sistine chapel and the pyramids can stand the test of time even up to today. was it a waste of resources? human lives are abundant, and it has always been that the needs of the few are served by the poorer majority. resources used to build those actually served its purpose back then.
