And oh wait rumor has it that the next xbox may have a touch screen controller now where did they get that idea from? Wii U perhaps? Plus the PS Move looks like some poorly designed sex toy. I am a PlayStation fan but this was definitely cracking on the Kinect not Wii. Nintendo had released motion controls for video games over 15 years before the Wii controller so everyone had the option to invest in the idea, it wasn't gimmicky or stolen from either of the 3 fan boy camps.

If any Sony people are reading this please take it on board, I'm not even a Sony fan but I genuinely think this is good advice that would give you the edge next gen. If you've any questions I can elaborate even further.

Make it this your standard controller next gen, keep the name Dualshock M or Dualwield or something to keep the "hardcore" happy. Given that you're also probably going to upgrade the PS Eye to Kinect level tech you could augement the motion sensing even further. For the traditionalist who dont want motion control for actual gaming it can still play like a game pad and better because your hands have free movement.

Sony instead of making fun of people who gave your idea why not actually make your own version good first. Get rid of the shitty nav half Dualshock controller and replace it with another motion controller. Add clickable analogue at the top push the Δ etc down and the Move and home buttons to the side. Keep the triggers. Oi la new controller with all the functionality of a Dualshock. Redesign it a little, to make it look "cooler."
