Seems like people making posts don't know much about Chinese culture...and I don't mean to patronize anybody here.....so yeah..go ahead and be humanitarian, open up and next decade your children will be saying..."I'm an American but my landlord is Chinese. Just because one man wants to move forward in life at the expense of making America vulnerable does not make any sense to me. Good luck..and I hope you appreciate my honest opinion.
Let me guess, Ron Paul Groupie? As if America is wrong to support freedom. America has the responsibility to at least stand up for whats right. Read about Taiwan and the Huigurs, see if you think the CCP is right to kill and threaten them. The Huigers want to preserve their culture and have a chance to work. The Taiwanese just want Democracy and freedom. They know their days are numbered and they're waiting and hoping that China will Democratize before reunification with the mainland.
@vidkid1 I don't know about Taiwan since I have not been there, although I have lots of Taiwanese friends; but the Huigurs are living fine in China (so are the Tibetans). They even have many favorable policies that regular Chinese don't have since they are minority group. The regions are poor though because it's pretty much desert in Xinjiang and plateau in Tibet, unfortunately. But the economy will collapse without the support from the central government and the rest of China.
@vidkid1 I don't know if it is true that the CCP killed many Huigurs, I don't typically trust the news; I prefer hearing true stories from people that I know. But even so between food and "freedom", I would prefer the former. Also the minority groups in China probably have more freedom than the rest, given that the mass Chinese are not that "free"
@vidkid1 Also I guess the Chinese central government don't really believe Democracy is the cure for everything and they value it much less than US (it's not explicitly spoken but I feel it that way). They don't deny democracy but they don't comply to it completely either. So it's hard to say "not democratic enough=bad" when they hold different beliefs as we do, although it is our opinion that democracy is good. I guess we just need to wait and see how China does in its way in the future.
I'm an American and I lived in China for 3 years. If you don't know that China is an enemy of the United States then I'm here to school you. They cheat and steel from the US and the rest of the world on all fronts. They manipulate their currency to cheat every country they do business with. They use the money to militarize and to create alliances so that they can threaten the US militarily in the future. They see us as an enemy and we are at war with them.
usa and china both makes slaves of there people..the only thing is america lern to hide it and be smarter about it for the last 60 years..china in the other hand dont need to hide it the chinnese people enjoy being slaves
but because we are buying their goods we are becoming richer
because we buy their goods with US dollers (not gold) so we get the gold and the items and resources we buy... then they are stuck with US dollers that must eventually be spent in the US
If he shifts to be a Christian, that would really be a big problem for his image. At least, we know, being a loyalist to his original religion could be much better than being a betrayer.

the reason i'm not voting for him is because of his support of communist china. They are a threat. They opress their people and sneak up on our aircraft carriers. Just because a country has a growing economy doesn't mean it's a goody country.
China isn't a bad country. It's just different from the united states. The customs, beliefs and traditions are a world apart from the U.S. When you say that it is not a "good country" you should specify what you mean by a good country. If we point out all the flaws of the united states such as the racial problems and how people are killed every day in the U.S. because of it then the U.S. would not be a "good country". I, for one, think that partnering up with China is a good idea.
I'm a Massachusetts Home owner. This guy is out for himself and will say and do what it takes to get what he wants.Romney is out for Romney.NOT you.NOT me.Just Romney.
I don't hear any other candidate saying anything meaningful about global competittion. Romney has the experience and skill to lead us to economic growth and success in the global marketplace.
Mitt says it as it is. Particularly interesting is that he foresees China passing us up. I guess it's realistic and we can't pretend that it won't happen.
@phil24601 -- ROMNEY'S 2012 PLAN CUTS MEDICARE--Ron Paul’s plan cuts $1 trillion the first year & balances the budget in 3 years. The plan cuts spending by ending the costly foreign wars, and cuts foreign welfare, corporate welfare, and overgrown federal bureaucracy. These cuts are made so that those who are dependent on domestic spending programs such as Medicare aren’t endangered through a sudden change in benefits. Romney’s plan cuts Medicare, on which many elderly Americans rely.

If we had this mentality with the middle eastern countries, I promise our economy would thrive and there would be no violence in the middle east.

well i saw a documentary on chinese farmers
a government funded school collapsed and killed 100's of kids because the building was made out of mud bricks
the parents got no money or appology... and they couldent even say anything about it on camera cause that would be bashing the government (illegal)
think about the rights we have that they dont... dont take them for granted... communism suck
however our socialist republic works quite well with free media in place
