Well I can say the times that I've heard this song I truly enjoyed it, but I never knew who sung it, but more interesting than that was our high school Andrew Jackson in Queens N.Y. I would never have guest it, technology is wonderful. Thanks for posting this, well I was the graduating class of 1988, I enlisted in the Marines that same year, still proudly serving. Do you have anymore details about the group, do you know them personally?
@kawiman09 ,,,,. I'm glad you enjoy this great version .this is my pleasure and you are very welcome. no I did not have the pleasure know them personally..& thnk you very much for serving in the Marines . we are proudly
of you, A HAPPY HOLIDAY AND COME HOME SAVE, I serve is Israel from 1967-1970.
Great cover of a great song. Interesting, Betty was born the same year I was and Mary the same year as my brother. I remember dancing to this at the school dances ( the Chantels version ). I enlisted in '65 and didn't get to New York until '67 briefly before heading off to Vietnam. Got back to NY in '68 and stayed there until I was discharged in '69. Never did see them perform, although I did spend a lot of time at the Peppermint Lounge on 45th St.
@raredoowop The Peppermint Louge used to get some big names in there such as Chubby Checker, but by that time the music was changing and Doo Wop was pretty much an after thought. Don't recall any big bands playing there, but mostly local cover groups that were very good in their own right.
