One of the main reason I love playing in front of non-technical/non-educated musicians, is due to the fact that I can do these kinds of solos and come off as an amazing guitar player, since no one catches on to the fact that over time your solos are the same pattern in different keys, with a couple of minor alteration between note in the scale. I probably use the major scale more than any scale out there, just play around with the modes alot.

Great guitar player and teacher, it really is a lot easier than one would first assume. Not such a great scientist though, osmosis is the movement of water across a partially permeable cell membrane. Still, he's damn good at what he does, probably the best guitar instructer on You Tube.

@sprawlmessiah key to building speed = play slow, painfully slow. Until you can commit it to muscle memory, to where you can sing/talk/do math without thinking about what you're playing. Metronome helps. Bump it a few bpm when you've mastered your current speed.

even if you're a beginner, doesn't mean you should have a crap teacher. i worked in a guitar shop for a few years 16 years ago, and i'd never sell any beginner a crap guitar. it's harder to play and harder to learn on. always get the absolute best guitar you can buy, and have it set up properly.

same goes for your teacher. there are much better on youtube.

Their styles tho are different of course hence why slash's notes might fit the song better because i really can't see ozzy sing don't cry or axel singing Mama I'm Coming Home. Zakk was a replacement of Rhandy, and slash would have been the worse replacement period. Slash is the most overrated guitarist out there btw.
