  • Hi there, Nice job. Where did you get the kit from? Or may say it is available for the US?

  • I just looked up the pricing for this thing on the official website, and is it really 17k pounds!!?? That is, barely more expensive than a Toyota Camry in Australia!??

  • @lobzdik Ah ha - it's 17k for the basic chassic and bodykit, but you'll need to add lots of "options" like brakes, engine, gearbox etc. I guess if you have a donor car then you could put one on the road for 17k. Mine was closer to 55k (yikes).

    Thanks for watching !

  • I've had a ride in one of these, a bit loud in the 'cockpit' and there's quite a bit of vibration but definitely a nippy little car!!

  • I have been more than interested in this, how did you feel the build was? Not too bad?

Great job, looks awesome, and nice garage man.(:

  • @mitsuevoRS Hi there. Apologies for the delay in replying - xmas catch up time ! The build was quite straightforward, although I needed the "help line" several times a week to check that I had this or that the right way around. No build experience needed they said, and that was pretty much right !

    Thanks for watching !

  • Hi there! As i can see on the Ultima site on the order paper, the total cost is about £17k without accessoires. Is this price correct, or do you just have alot of accessoires on the car? Thanks!

  • Nice. You've done a good job there...but the transmission mountings look a bit shitty dont they? Had any issues with that since? What else you got in the garage rich boy? :P

  • Hi folks ! Thanks for all the comments, always a pleasure. Just a few quick responses !

Yes, you can buy it from anywhere in the world, comes in a kit or as a turnkey car. Best guess is £ 55,000 kit and £ 80,000 from Ultima as a finished car (for a 600bhp one).

Gas mileage ? Got an average of 10 to the gal.

Yes, with hindsight the wing does make it.

No fabrication needed, just a few spanners, several cold beers and a few friends to help lift it on and off the dolly.

    Happy motoring !

  • is it available in canada and how much does it cost?

  • @slspg

you have to import it... it cost less than 150000 dollars... i don't know exactly how much because there's a lot of accessories on this car...

  • @slspg You can't import a kit car in Canada. You might be able to pass it as a homebuilt depending in which province you are.

  • Sorry to hear about you losing this beauty in a divorce. I was just thinking to myself that I didnt like those wheels, but once I saw them on the car they looked really good and set the car off perfect. Great job on this build I have no idea how you have 6 thumbs down. lol

  • did you ever drive it to see how good of gas mileage you could get?

  • You should have added the wing. To me it just makes the car look more complete. Cool car anyways.

  • I can't believe you putted it all together in 6 minutes ... lololol , just joking dude , you must be proud !

  • How much of this build did you have to fabricate yourself or did you buy it all in the kit? and that is one nice garage i must say..

  • @wrig42 Hi there ! No fabrication needed I am glad to say. Just basic tools and a few spare hands from time to time and you have the completed car.

Both car and garage sadly gone now (divorce) and just have by old Ford Capri for amusement ! But better to have loved and lost etc. And I mean the car, not the ex ... he he he . Thanks for watching !!

  • @peppermann wow i'm sorry to hear that and it is sad that you mentioned divorce as a coworker and i were just talking about men losing everything in a divorce......Glad to hear no real fabrication is necessary that was and is a nice project.

  • @peppermann your ex took a car that you built yourself? what a bitch!

  • @peppermann Fucking women! That's exactly the reason I'm NEVER getting married! You fuck them.. then they FUCK you over!

  • is that a smallblock chevy engine???? LOL looks just like one......

  • at 5:33 what is that lever coming out of the trans axle

  • @TookieOne21 Hiya ! That's the gear selector coming out of the Porsche G50 box and the steel rods to the left (x3) run to the geat stick. Getting those rods pinned in was in the top three trickiest bits of the build ! Thanks for watching !

  • Fuckin BADASS!!!!!

  • its just like lego but for human size

    Thumbs Up if u agree!

  • My dad and I are building one of these, but after 5 months haven't finished the panelling. How long did it take you?

  • @JoelRegP Hi there. Whole job was 10 months, or 450 hours. Panelling took nearly 80 so things will move on a lot more quickly once that is done. When suspension and brakes are on (and wheels) it starts to look like a car ! Good luck and keep me posted !!

  • Very nice shots & well edited. Very professional work - well done!

  • @JoeDuveen Many thanks ! :o)

  • shes so hot, oh and the car isnt bad either. great job

  • @bubbabouyi He he ! Thanks for watching !

  • Have you seen the GTR with the SHO in it?

I have a Fiero with an SHO in it

  • @outbackautomotive No I haven't. but just seen your channel and it sounds f**king great !! Is that a V6 or a V8 ? very nice work !

    Regards, Peppermann.

  • @peppermann

    V6

    1989-1995 Yamaha! :D

  • so if by bad luck(God forbid) you ran into another car/pole. how will the body hold up?. is it plasticky* or its rigid enough to protect you, from crashing into the car head first.

  • @dilirent The spaceframe chassis is very strong, but the bodywork wouldn't provide much protection. I know some people who have crashed at speed and apart from the shake up they walked away. There are several crumple zones built into the chassis, very safe as far as these things go but I wouldn't want a head on in it ....

    Thanks for watching !

  • ok this car around 80k.. Veyron Over A Million... Yeah.. this is a waaaaaaaay better deal

  • great vid awesome car

  • @p00lnutzzzz I thank you !

  • this got to be the best thing you done peppermann!!..just wondering where to source the sourcing info from?..and also what is the power to weight ratio on that toy of yours?? cheers mate

  • how much money do you have tied up in this beautiful car?

  • @mudpuppy4life Hi there ! Whole thing cost around £ 55,000. A lot of cash for sure, but nothing faster on the road (aside from the veyron). Thanks for watching !

  • @peppermann

    great work!

    best wishes from Greece

  • @kosamf Thanks ! And best wishes from England back at you !

  • hi,. great build. can you tell me what gerabox is used? thx

  • @shadmonk Hi there. It's a Porsche G50 box, inverted as the engine is ahead of the box. They are pretty much bulletproof, and only £ 1500 as the only second hand part of the car. The vehicle licence chaps allow one second hand part and you can still register the car as new.

The only grumble on the Porsche box is that the gears run out close to 200mph, so for bery high speeds you need the top gear modifiying, which Ultima now do as an option.

    Thanks for watching !

    Tony ("peppermann")

  • @peppermann thanks for that. So is the engine running dry sump, and can you tell me what the clutch action is like. I assume it will be hydraulic action, so is it a heavy pedal? sorry for the questions but im looking very closely at one of these...(but with an LS1)

  • @shadmonk hey there ! No, not a dry sump, just the accusump which helps keep oil pressure on heavy braking. Clutch is the same as my mum's Ford Focus, you wouldn't believe it. Really light and easy on the legs. Thanks for watching !!

  • Can you get the right side steering wheel?

  • @Dominoes282 You sure can ! You could put it in the middle if you wanted, have a one seater McLaren F1 ! Thanks for watching !

  • @peppermann Thanks and my pleasure :)

  • It seems not like an easy task. I mean it's not impossible but it looks like, as I said, very complicated to built.

    Have you tested it's acceleration 0-100km/h, 0-200km/h, 402m, 10000m?

How good are the brakes - breaking from 100km/h-0km/h?

Btw, very sweet gril at 5:57 .

  • @brox114 Hi there ! The car went a couple of years back (divorce, bummer hey) but I managed 0 to 100kmh in 2.8 s, 0 to 200kmh in 7s. Also managed 220 to 250kmh in 2 seconds dead. Stunning performance, miss that motor bad .... Thanks for watching ! Tony

  • Amazing taste in music, Amazing taste in cars. Sorry if this has been answered before, what engine did you put in?

  • @RecklessDrift Hi there ! Thanks for the kind words :o) The engine is a 7 litre V8 small block chevy from American Speed in the US, Ultima's preferred engine supplier for the GTR. 642bhp and 600+ ftlbs, which is just enough ! :o) Cheers !

  • @peppermann And it weighs what? 900kg ish? Thats insane! Your very lucky to have a car like that.

  • yo i have a few questions. first, is all this stuff included in this kit? second would be how much did it all cost? and finally how much was the engine and transmission?

  • @gurparshad96 Hi there. Yes, all included in the kit, but you can choose your own engine and box. Mine was around £ 55,000 all in, with the box and engine £ 14,000 of that. But you don't need to spend that much, there are cheaper options, you could get a 400bhp V8 for £ 4,000 or so. See ultimasports.co.uk for more details ! Cheers.

  • Satriani is awesome. This car seems really good quality for a kit car. Must be a dream to own. Also I bet it was fun putting together. Congrats

  • @thnk4urself Yes, Satch rocks ! Glad u like the vid and music - thanks for watching !!

  • Is it difficult to built one?

  • Power too weight ratio, that what it is all about and they STILL won't show it on Top Gear. What a bunch of pussies.Pussy's

  • is that your daughter at 5:58 cause she gorgeous

  • @ryanwll He he .... Nope, she's one of Ultima's staff. All good people. Thanks for watching !

  • great vid, awesome car, and satriani rocks #FTW

  • @ANOMALOUS4EVER Sweet :o) Thanks dude !

  • Nice Music!

  • You sold the Ultima and kept the Capri? You are "The Man" sir. Nothing less. :-)

  • @TheLiquidKnight Divorce unfortunately. GTR was in marriage, Capri was pre marriage. But as they say, it's better to have loved and lost .... And you know what, the Capri is as big a buzz as it was when I got it back in 1987. Now where is the leather jacket and the professionals soundtrack ... :o) Just a bit less g-force than the GTR. Cheers !

  • @peppermann i'm never getting married!

  • @dd5k He he he :o)

  • Hi Everyone !

Just a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has watched my ham-fisted attempts to put together Ultima's superb kit. 100,000 views is unbelievable !

Another big THANK YOU to Joe Satriani for not blocking his tune, "One Robot's Dream" (which I think makes the video). Go see Satch if you can (he is in the UK in Oct) and buy his albums - Joe rocks !

GTR #2 still on the drawing board but you never know .....

Best wishes and happy motoring ! :o)

    Tony ("peppermann")

  • what transmission was that engine bolted up to?

  • @siret Hi there ! It's a Porsche G50 box, mounted upside down wo the breather hole is the drain plug and vice versa !

    Thanks for watching !

  • @peppermann So on video at about 5:16 is that some type of adapter plate to mate the transmission bell housing to the engine? And if so is custom or off the shelf. Love the way that set up looks by the way.

  • Nice Build. Awesome car!! Who's the angel at 5:58? Cute.

  • @FdSnakeEater He he ... :o)

  • GREAT VIDEO! Thanks for taking the time to make it!

  • @ThePaintCover My pleasure ! Thanks for watching ! :o)

  • Tidy Capri mate. :-)

  • @TheLiquidKnight He he he, so you've caught sight of the old warhorse then ? It's still with me (unlike the GTR ...) and still going strong ! :o)

  • Wanted to be the 100,000th viewer but I'll leave that for someone else. Not sure if you know, but your website is mentioned in this months issue of "Wired" so I expect you'll be getting quite a few more hits...hope all is good with you ;o)

  • @HelenJKnight Hi there. Busy busy here in Telford, but other than that it's BAU. Hope you well too :o) Wired hey, never heard of it, but will check it out !

  • 1.52 holy christ!!!!

  • @dreaddomonte That's what I thought :o) One of trickiest parts of the build, getting that big spiders web the right way around the chassis. Especially being colour blind (seriously !). Cheers ! Tony

  • should have the big block option to be honest. What's the point of having less than 1200 rwhp?

  • Superb work. My brother-in-law built his GTR640 as well - his looks identical to yours except has the rear spoiler. I think they look great with or without it. I'd love to do it but wouldn't have a clue where to start, haha. Big respect to you for doing what looks to be a brilliant job. You must've felt proud everytime you looked at and drove it. I look forward to seeing videos of your next one when you get it.

  • @DJKrissJ Hey there ! many thanks for the comments and glad you liked the vid ! :o) Cheers !

  • @peppermann No probs, thanks for uploading it. Your GTR videos are great. I especially like the 20-60mph one. Mentally fast.

  • very nice vid

  • @pclarky Thanks for all the nice comments guys (and gals). Car went post divorce but there are a lot of fond memories building the GTR. Am saving up for the next one so you never know .... :o)

  • Car porn at it's very best!! Love it... great job and a beautiful car.

  • Selfservice supercar.....playmobile? Great

  • clean garage, enjoyed the vid.

  • @SmoootHman Sweet !

  • What gearbox brand is that?

    Many thanks XD

  • @Abyss0147 Porsche G50. Mounted upside down. Bullet proof those Porsche boxes ! Thanks for watching !!!

  • a V10 ultima, it would sound really good, what kind of fuel economy did you get from yours

  • @TheBladeofaDemon Hiya ! About 7 to the gallon. he he he :o)

  • @peppermann with the LS3 what kind of fuel economy is projected.

is the 7 mpg due to the lead foot, most chevy engines have great fuel economy

  • What kind of v8 can fit, i've seen a you tube video of someone stuffing an M70 V12 (from BMW), what engine did you use

  • @TheBladeofaDemon Hi there ! You can easily fit a small block chevy V8, or a LS2 / LS7 etc. and really anything inbetween. Some people use the V10 M5 engine. But no-one has managed to fit a big block V8, think that's a step too far !

    Thanks for watching !

  • Watching this video makes me realize that I've always wanted to truly "build" my own car. It looks like quite a bit of work and dedication. I actually went online to the website to try and price one of these and I saw a base price with a bunch of options. How much did you actually pay to get this car on the road? I am very interested in doing this in the future. A standing ovation for you, sir, and your dedication to this project. The video is fantastic, a job truly well done.

  • @johnsgtr Many thanks and apologies for the delay in replying ! Mine was close to £ 55,000 all in. A lot of cash but a lot of fun ! Building it was as much fun as driving it ! Get down to Ultima for a test drive - Ted Marlow will happily take you out for a test run and it's something you'll never forget !

    All the best. :o)

    Tony

  • @peppermann I knew Ted Marlow in the early 80s when he owned a block paving company. He took me out in his Dutton B+ which had a 3.0 V6 Essex engine. It was fast as **** but probably still not as fast as your Ultima.

  • @ChorltonM21 Great stuff !! Bet it was a hell of a ride ! Ted can drive, and then some. I think he sells most Ultimas after taking people for a spin around Hinckley. I still remember mine ! Genuinely nice chap too. Thanks for watching dude !

  • Great job on the car, very professional!

  • @harleytech530 Cheers !

  • hey man i got a few questions. Is this car comfortable to drive, for example does it feel like a sports car, not a full on race car( well other than handleing and speed). Also would this be an ok daily driver???

  • @H1shman Hi there ! yes, it's a great day to day drive, very comfy seats, air con etc. But turns back to a race car when you press the pedal ! I went shopping in mine several times, you can get quite a lot of shopping in the side pods. and the air con pipe keeps one side coo, great for chilling your beers on the way home !

    Thanks for watching !

  • i came to this video!!, it is my dream to build my own supercar like this one day!!!

  • "I hate it."

Must have gotten owned by one and is a bit sour over it or something. I admit that looks could be better but they aren't that bad and the performance is unrivaled. The back looks fine and that's all that other cars will be seeing when you dust their asses anyway.

  • Oh and Thank you for this video!!

  • Niiiceee....! It looks even better with out the rear wing.. But damn maybe if the rear wing is painted all red also including the metal mounts for the rear wing... Do you think it would look just as good? Because I hate having to lose that awesome down force functionality...

  • 450 hours seems kinda long! Nice job though. :)

  • I shivered at 1:50

  • @brad99z28 he he : Yes, the wiring loom looks a nightmare. I'm colour blind and still managed it, so it's not too bad. It just comes like that from the factory ! :o) Thanks for watching !

  • i hate it !

  • you make it look easy!

  • Dont crash it

  • hope you used a pneumatic rivet gun :)

  • YOUR SO LUCKY!!!

  • I'm hoping to get one of these when i get enough money. Did you just buy the basic set or did you get some accessories? and how much did the whole thing cost you?

  • @tallmopdude Sorry for the delay in replying. I went for the top of the range spec - whole thing cost £ 55,000 plus about £ 500 in tooling. A lot of ££ I know, but a great thing to turn up in at your son's "show and tell" day at school. Shame I had to sell it post divorce ... but an experience never to forget ! Thanks for watching !

  • i would have used solid rivets! :)

  • the best video ever!!!!

    thank you for this!!!

  • @TBWS4E Many thanks and glad you liked it ! :o)

  • damn nice

  • I'm thinking of building one and would like to know if there is room for a Big Block Chevy. A big block is only 2.7" longer from the motor mounts forward I would use an alum aftermarket block, heads, stroker crank (632 C.I.D.) and EFI. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • @ImLargeLarry Sorry for delay in replying ! Nope, big block doesn't fit - well it didn't when I asked about it in 2006 ... we are on the same wavelength ! Thanks for watching !

  • @ 2:02 just leave it like that and put an engine and seats in it. lol that would be awesome

  • thought the same, like a badass gocart, lol

  • Ah, it looks so smooth and sleep but underneath it's just a steel box with shit in between. =)

  • what it costs to build a gtr???

  • szacunek ! geat job & nice music :)

  • and the true bitches will leave with the kit car. lol

  • its a kit car. it doesnt mean its a piece of shit. kit cars roll off of barret jackson for $100,00.

  • @mada88

Your grammar is appalling. First of all, before you criticize others you should learn the difference between "your" and "you're." Secondly, your post is very ironic because you're insulting someones "grammer" yet you don't even know the correct spelling of that word.

Think before you speak, especially when insulting others. Not all Americans have poor grammar. There are a lot of idiots in this world, and I think I found another one.

  • @mada88, Why don`t you take your own advice, and do that to yourself?

  • @aimaoladelphia

As much as I hate grammar nazis, this guy probably deserved it...

  • I own a Ferrari 348tb and an Ultima GTR - I can tell you something, the GTR is an awesome experience. It turns far more heads on trackdays than the Fez.

  • mada88, you should say nothing from now on, because you are embarrassing yourself and your country!!!

  • your a plain faggot. Silly faggot, dicks are for chicks.... Come on to a thread to bash it. Hey, I have an idea.... go to a cliff and JUMP!

  • mada88, did you make that one up yourself or did your daddy help?

  • you are full of shit!!!!

  • I bet you drive a beat to shit car bro....

  • wow now that's something to be proud of. Amazing. Great song choice too! Satriani is insane. It's refreshing to hear some poeple have good taste still, I'm sick of seeing you tubge video's with techno or rap garbage by default. music like this is perfect for this type of video. that car must be a rocket.

  • I don't know about SBC motor. I'd like something with overhead cams, electronic ignition and injection.

  • That shit's a lot harder if you suck at electronics, dude. The setup he's got is the cheapest you can go for, and probably better for racing anyway.

  • nah, it's easy. you just buy an ignition box, hook it up, and program it. with electronics you can adjust timing based on RPM and engine load (engine vaccum or throttle position). then you can also increase timing if engine accelerates past certain RPM/sec number, called rapid acceleration timing. Basically, just with electronic ignition you can monkey out of it extra 80 horse power, make it more drivable on the street, and more fuel efficient when cruising. I think it's worth it.

  • So this was only $55k USD including SBC 7 liter 642 bhp engine? (if you obviously make it yourself). Or was that £55,000?

  • says the GTR on the website order form is £15,931

  • Really nice and clean build! love it!

  • Brilliant, Just made my day the best car in the world acompanied by the best Guitarist in the world, PERFECT.

I've been wanting to build one of these for about 10 years, Time and money always run out :(

  • Impressed the hell out of me!!Great song choice too!!!

  • Many thanks ! And HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone who has watched my vids and to all the youtubers out there ! See you in 2010 !!! Tony :o)

  • that's badass, for being able to have a top gear lap time very close to a 1.8 million dollar Ferrar FXX, this is one of my favorite cars. One day i wish to build my own Ultima GTR. Great slideshow

  • @peenche There is a Ultima gtr 720 almost a sec quicker than the fxx 1.10.7

  • Thanks for sharing this amazing build. I love Ultimas! Also Nice trippyyy tune.

  • Hey there folks ! 60,000 views !! Incredible !!!

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has watched my videos over the last couple of years. I try and respond to all comments but if I miss you send me an email and I certainly will.

Another massive THANK YOU to Joe Satriani for not taking the one robot's dream song off this vid - Joe, I hope it sell you some more albums, you rock ! I'll be back next year for you to sign the guitar a third time !!

To all you kit builders - I salute you !!!

  • slow building of dream :) really nice

  • Cheers ! Thanks for watching !

  • What does a kit to car come with anyways? No body work?

  • Good job and good choice..... Fantastic car......see new top gear record !

  • not the best looking car but i wouldnt complain if i had one :)

  • thats amazing work man. did you have much experience to build it ?

  • how much does this cost??

  • Not as much i you would expect, i looked into it a few years ago and there most basic package came in at about 12k but that was with no engine and paintwork, you build the chasis and put the engine you want into it, i would put a m5 v10 engine on carbs or a highly tuned cosworth engine just to be a little different

  • alright performance wise this kills a buggatti and anyone who says it does not is a retard. the Buggatti costs 14 times what this does i expect 14 time the performance the but it does not happen then
