  • um a low carb diet will make you gain more weight once your off it. besides carbs like brown rice, whole grains, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat spaghetti, whole wheat tortilla wraps aren't bad.   • important and useful thing to remember is that fruit and veg AREN'T the only sources of plant food. there's nuts, seeds, pulses(like lentils, beans and peas), salad leafs etc. so eating healthy isn't as bland as just meat, fruit & veg. there are all sorts of things to eat as wel as herbs and spices for adding flavor to foods. be creative !

  • @iwhre20 If you mean the roasted or salted stuff - definitely. Raw nuts are actually not that bad because they contain protein. But you shouldn't eat a lot of them because they're high in fat.

    If all , whole grain or processed, carbohydrates get converted into glucose...what's the problem with eating sugar?

    Why is "junk" food bad for you? If your body sees nutrients and not food; as long as youre getting the nutrients what's the problem?

    Why eliminate carbs? As long as you're in a caloric deficit won't you lose weight?

  • @tennisboy1314 um leanbodylifestyle probably has a better answer for you.

    the thing with eating sugar is that while it gets burned first in exercise, high sugar levels cause insulin levels to shoot up, which then causes sugar depletion, which leads to cravings.

    the problem with most junk foods is either the cholestrol/monosaturated/trans fats. your body stores fat easily, but its a thousand times harder to lose that fat.

    while a caloric deficit will often lead to weight loss, the problem is what i said for the answer to your first question. its the consequences of sugar levels going up and then shot down.

    so actually to correct it specifically, carbs are ok, but i recommend drinking a lot of water/liquids with them so that you feel full w/ a less amount of carbs. protein is a good replacement of carbs because you feel full even w/o the liquids AND it helps to build muscle

    with these kinds of tips (is it proven?) i may think i would have to try it.

  • I went from fatass to being pretty ripped pretty fast. (40 days) I used a lot of your advice. I went to the gym mon-fri on a split workout doing abs on mon-wed-fri. I would do about 30 mins of interval cardio 5 times a week and a 5 mile jog twice a week. I would eat plain oatmeal w/ protein powder for breakfast and chicken w broccoli and peas for lunch and dinner with protein shakes for snacks. pre workout i would have some bread for energy. Somehow I got lighter but increased what I was lifting

  • @afghankillah By no means am I an expert. I'm just saying what worked for me. The last thing to go was my lower belly. I just turned up all aspects of my routine. I spread out my meals to about 7 a day. Drank more water so I would eat less. Did about 15 mins more cardio. Stay more strict to your diet if your not already. a multivitamin would help your body go through the abrupt change in diet. I would avoid "fat burners" as they will ruin your appetite making it harder to eat 6-8 meals. Goodluck

  • Good stuff! I am almost 40 and am still in pretty good shape because I follow most of your routine...I am Italian so it's real tough not to indulge...I usually cheat once a week for sure...carbs are also an issue (pasta, bread etc). Anyway, all that you said is real good!

  • i'm trying to bulk up in size. I'm an adult 27 male. Right now I am meeting my goals. I am a 5'11 medium build frame. I can wear 30 x 32 pants. 30 x 32 shorts. I went from 150 - 161 lbs in a month. Starting weight was 135 lbs on a protein diet. I had an obesity problem for about 6-7 years and at my all time low I am 230. I drink a lot of water every day.   • yea, there is no way out of dieting properly to burn fat. The only issue is that when the weight is lost the diet isn't maintained. Its best to have a lifestyle to support it. At the same time, if your focusing on getting a deficit in calories each day then there is a 95% chance your going to get fatter then before you started trying to make a change. Just google "your fit assist" because it explains it better then I can

  • If you have a wicked workout, drink some soda because the sugar cancels a chemical your body makes that breaks down some muscle. Every workout adds a bit of muscle but if you actually do hardcore workouts, the sugar will help you gain more muscle faster
