I dont know what to believe for sure but i have seen many videos showing oil throughout the coast lines and the effects its had on wild life. So i believe there was a spill but i dont know how bad it really is
@davidchenard Oil is normally dark brown or black in the crude state, however there are several different kinds of oil and colors, and density. You cannot film (see) under deep water without light. I imagine it has light on it. :)

It is the uploader. Notice that he's filming his TV there. See at the bottom of the video, that black bar? That's the bottom of the TV. Notice when the door opens and closes, it doesn't go down past that.

obviously this was being filmed off a monitor in a room somewhere hence the door opening reflection...if it's from CNN they're lying about it being a direct live feed...or they're filming the feed off a monitor at the studio...it could be fake, but this is a poor way to prove it.

This was seriously a possibility in your mind? You have to realize that calls into question the methodology you arrived at for any of your conclusions. I will grant you one small mount of latitude which is that it is a little odd they would be filming a a monitor with the display of the live feed, rather than simply patching the live feed directly, but it still is not conclusive of anything.

You can tell it is a reflection @0:29 you can see the reflection on the bottom of the screen which is solid black because of CNNs "call-sign". It is not part of the feed yet it shows a reflection.

All that has been done here is a video has been made of the oil footage. A glassy monitor clearly shows the door opening, but if you pause right when the door opens, you can see the outline of a person holding the door, and someone much smaller, maybe a child, appears to go through or past the door. Good try, but it is hard to beat a video expert :)

This is a video recorded off of someone's television screen with someone opening and closing the door in the background, which you can see in the glare of the screen. It's a fake fake. The CNN footage is legit.
It is still clearly a video being recorded off of a television screen. Why did they do that? I don't know. Perhaps they have no way of otherwise accessing the video feed. In any case, this isn't evidence of any shenanigans, just shoddy video.

No camera can withstand that pressure standalone so the footage is shot from inside a submarine and the camera caught the reflection of a door opening a few times in the back.

I don't know if it never happened but the 24/7 live feed that is on the net is NOT this well. It is flowing at an insane rate. This has a totally different valve and is barely pissing out. Look around on youtube for the live feed. This is a fake. See the door opened up. It is not a reflection morons, Because if it were the reflection would be on the valve also. That's a reflection off the monitor you see. That door is NOT opening behind that oil spill. What you see is the reflection when someone opens the door and lets additional light in.

This is a reflection, the feed is from a secure whitehouse channel and was just before BP upgraded its site so no one but the whitehouse had access.
You can tell it is a reflection @0:29 you can see the reflection on the bottom of the screen which is solid black because of CNNs "call-sign". It is not part of the feed yet it shows a reflection.

All that has been done here is a video has been made of the oil footage. A glassy monitor clearly shows the door opening, but if you pause right when the door opens, you can see the outline of a person holding the door, and someone much smaller, maybe a child, appears to go through or past the door. Good try, but it is hard to beat a video expert :)

@cdfox85 If it is from the CNN site then it's probably not a reflection in a monitor but it most certainly is a reflection in the glass in front of the camera. No camera can withstand that pressure standalone so the footage is shot from inside a submarine and the camera caught the reflection of a door opening a few times in the back.

I don't know if it never happened but the 24/7 live feed that is on the net is NOT this well. It is flowing at an insane rate. This has a totally different valve and is barely pissing out. Look around on youtube for the live feed. This is a fake. See the door opened up. It is not a reflection morons, Because if it were the reflection would be on the valve also. watch at the bottom of the screen on the cnn bar that spans across the screen at the bottom and you can see that the reflection is also cast on the CNN bar as well as the pipe or what ever it is that the oil is exscapeing from. the door opening is clearly an reflection from an outside source being cast up on the screen being filmed and is not in the picture itself. It would do someone good to learn some basics about Photography and lighting.

@morningmayan If you notice the door opening doesn't show all the way to the floor, in other words the valve blocks part of the opening. So it's not just a reflection. Remember them bringing that Cameron, director. I was thinking, "This is 5000 feet deep, they don't shoot movies that deep." Hell a sub can't go but about 600meters. at 5:12 the "door" is in front of the oil leak and underneith the black bar at the bottom of the screen, so, one can easily tell that the door opening and closing is not a part of the original footage. There, mystery solved.

This shot is coming from the Senate floor, monitoring a camera from BP! It clearly states this on the top right hand side of the screen shot. Come on people, how many News companies have cameras on mini-subs?? What all the news channels are showing the video from a "BP" camera! Cmon guy ! I hate CNN but I also know what you are seeing. They have oil on one screen like a tv. ( they have tons in news room.) and a camera pointed at that screen. You are seeing the reflection from behind the taping camera. If still doubting it, put your tv on a semi dark picture and have a little lighting in the back ground. get your camera out and have some one stand behind you and take a pic or vid, have them move around, You will see them in the screen, but good eyes to spot it !

That's a reflection off the monitor you see. That door is NOT opening behind that oil spill. What you see is the reflection when someone opens the door and lets additional light in.

So what you have here is a camera set up to video a large screen (TV)! That's no "live" footage. It's a video that was re-videotaped off a Pioneer TV (as the top of the Pioneer logo at the bottom of the video indicates.)
Go to CNN and see the original video for yourself. It's clear as day.

If you took notice of the story on CNN....this is CNN obtaining a video of what BP showed to the Senate. Hence not a video feed coming directly from BP.
It's not a difficult concept to understand. Some senate staffer is doing exactly what this particular submitter did. Recording a video off of a monitor/tv and handing it off to somebody else (CNN in this case rather than Youtube) for them to show the public what they were watching.

But then the nuts say they are spraying a nerve gas into the dispersant that they are spraying with the oil and I was trying to point out that they can't have it both ways, either there is no spill like they say, but if there is no spill, then there is no oil to spray the dispersant and make the nerve gas. They contradict.

Open your eyes, its not 'fake' its quite clearly a camera that has been set up to watch a monitor screen, there is then a refelection on the monitor screen. You can still easily see the original watermarks on the monitor, the edges of the monitor and the added watermarks to the camera veiw, we have, of the monitor.
Its a non-issue imo(though there is a chance of looping), but it isnt 'fake', use your sodding eyeballs.
