@Musicfan8464 I play by ear. I listen to the song, get it stuck in my head, and then match notes on the keyboard while I hum it or whistle it. On occasion, for more complicated songs, I'll play the song over and over on my computer while I am matching notes on my keyboard. That helps me get the correct accompaniment for some of the more involved songs.
ah nostalgic i remember getting my game boy and getting kirbys dreamland P.S THIS ISNT FROM SUPER SMASH BROS IT WAS IN THE 1st KIRBY GAME 4 game boy (nt gameboy advanced, or color jst gameboy) AS THE 1st LVL SONG
Yea, I know that it originally came from Kirby's Dreamland. The first time I heard it, though, was in Kirby's Pinball for the gameboy. Loved that game.
so beautiful!! and I agree with what you said about the end of Brawls story mode. I imagined that happening and it was cute. I have a very active imagination when it comes to video games. I like to make up life stories about characters in games.I know. I'm weird lol. i also agree with @BlackOakStudios. =)
This seems like a somewhat sad rendition of the song. It should be played in the end credits of a kirby game where the final boss turns out to be a friend.
If your Mario Paint is on your computer, you can download a program to record what you see on screen as well as what you hear from your speakers. There are plenty of those types of programs. If your Mario Paint is on the SNES, you can plug your SNES into a video capture device, such as a video capture card, or video capture USB tether.
You could try free sound recorder. Just do a google search for it. That will record your audio. If you want to record what is on your screen, you can try Camstudio.
and about it being a blessing and a curse, i've read that learning how to play by ear helps if you learn to sightread because you'll kinda know what key to play next, so don't give up on sheets :D
And I agree with you all about the blessing and the curse. I have transcribed chord tabs for more than ten years. It enabled me to play many songs by ear, but also rendered me sheet-music-blind. It did start to change as I dip into classicals these years - it takes quite some time for the unease to go away, but it eventually does.
But for a song like Green Greens, I'd print the score and... improvise. It just feels right.
It's a curse due to not learning the correct finger and hand placement to perform these songs efficiently. Also, learning by ear can take a while, where as a player who can read sheet music can pretty much sit down and play right away. Learning by ear will make it difficult to snag a professional gig for the entertainment business unless you have your own band. It won't work well for people playing music for media, such as TV and movies.
yes if you ever want to be able to play somthing without much practice, sightreading is what thats called, and to do that you have to read sheet music beyond advanced
It's reallllllllllllly easy if you can get the melody stuck in your head. Just hum it while matching notes on the instrument, and in no time, you have learned a song. Besides, most videogame songs are fairly simple and repetetive, so they are fairly easy to learn.
good old nintendo and their c scale rapage. awesome job man. i'll be using this to learn... hooopefully tomorrow depending on how quickly i learn the metroid song. i'm learning as many super smash brothers songs as possible this week
Hehehe, best of luck to you, mate. Oh, and I hope you didn't miss that I have a tutorial for this song. It is the video response for this video. Check it out for a narrated explanation for this song.
oh i actually didn't see it. but i actually rather learning from these videos. tutorials go too slow for my liking. anyways i ended up learning the song last night after i posted my first message haha thanks a lot for posting. i'll let you know when my video's up. i''ll put you in the credits haha :)
Awesome. ( : Feel free to post the video as a video response to mine, as well. I'd love to get a collection of people playing this song after hearing mine. ^-^
This is very impressive for someone who doesn't use sheet music! I don't use it either, so i try and play the same way- by using your ear and memorization.(although I certainly don't sound like this) Excellent job though, thanks for uploading!
Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed it. ( : Once you learn a basic version of the song, you can then begin playing with modifying different sections to make it more advanced. I, typically, start with modifying the bass line to something other than a single note.
^-^ Thanks for watching. Being able to play by ear is such a rewarding talent, but I'd have to say, just for ease of learning, being able to read sheet music fluently would be nice.
i sometimes play the piano in the school's music room and the band teacher said i got a special ear since i have no clue wat a note even is. he says if i could take lessons then i could play anything i wanted. buuuut notes r 2 confusing fer me. lol
A long long time ago, I used to play the trumpet in the school band. I was able to read notes fluently during that time, but trumpet notation is far more simple than that of a piano, as the piano includes both treble and bass simultaneously.
ya i can only play piano. never was able to play anything else. exept that wierd zilaphone that LOOKS lika a grey piano. its got the keys in the right order and its just a silver piano and ya need wierd drumsticks 2 play it lol
I'm pretty good at playing by ear, but I still need to learn the chords :) plus, I hardly know the song, but I really like it ^__^ Lol I don't have the patience to read music
Yea, the tune is fairly simple, so it's easy to bring it to the piano if you understand basic bass chords. Even if you don't, it'll still sound good. I'm making a tutorial for this as we speak.
Hmmmm, I'll have to listen to it again. I usually play songs that get stuck in my head, so if the openning is catchy enough to do that, then I might very well transpose it to keyboard.
if you cant read or write then how do you know what to play then
