  • May I ask why this treatment is not available in the UK?

  • @JamieMaguireful

Hi! The technique of bow leg (genu varum) correction was created by professor Ilizarov in USSR many years ago. During USSR time the only few specialists from Russia, Ukraine and other countries could learn Ilizarov's technique and the apparatus. There is no treatment is available in UK because there are no specialists in UK who learned the method from Ilizarov and specialized in bow legs (genu varum) correction treatment.

    Pavel Korsun, manager of Dr.Veklich

  • @pavelkorsun Surely then you would have a stronger advertising campaign that a video on youtube and a website? This would appear to be a medical break through and I am very intrigued to know why the NHS has not given this a mention to me, and instead insisted that no cure is currently available. I am also curious to know if you can give testimonials from real people? I would very much like to see someone's name and face, as opposed to a picture of legs.

  • @ChianeMercedes how it done ?-?

  • @uminamisolelove

I have answered on your questions by youtube e-mail.

If you have questions - please, ask.

  • Hi!

After bow legs (genu varum) correction treatment your height will increase by 1-1,5 cm depends on your legs deformity.

If you have questions - please, ask.

    Pavel Korsun, manager of Dr.Veklich

  • do you gain height by straighting them ?

  • Could these be different legs altogether?

  • @fogilvie1988

Hello! Dr.Veklich performs bow legs (genu varum) correction surgery for both legs simultaneously.

The surgery for both legs takes 40 minutes only.

    Pavel Korsun, manager of Dr.Veklich

  • do you do both of the legs together? i have bowed legs and they look shit will i eventually have arthritus because the weight goes through the inside knee? please reply

  • @fogilvie1988

If bow legs there is more loading of inner part of knee-joint and if knock knee there is more loading of outer part of knee-joint. So articular cartilage of knee-joint have different weight distribution at surface that leads to its attrition in the part where the loading is maximum. In time the articular cartilage attrition leads to deforming arthrosis and a person feels pain in knee-joints.

    Pavel Korsun, manager of Dr.Veklich

  • @themasterofstealthcj Hi! IF you have any questions about bow legs (genu varum) correction treatment, please, contact me by e-mail: contact[@]doctorveklich[.]com

  • @boyeks Hi! Yes, David is 68 years old now and his legs working very well. We keep in touch!

You could look at his exprerience interviw in 1,5 years after bow legs (genu varum) correction surgery. Just seach youtube by keyword: "UK patient experience and interview in 1,5 years"

If you have questions - please, ask.

    Wait for your reply

    Pavel Korsun, manager of Dr.Veklich

  • @pavelkorsun how many weeks does it takes to walk again ?.. is there any non surgical procedure ?

  • @boyeks Hi! A patient could stand for first time on his legs in 2 weeks after the

surgery, next in 2 more weeks start walking with crutches and in 2

more weeks will walk without additional help while Ilizarov-Veklich

apparatus are on his legs. A ptainet could return to his job in 1,5-2 months

after the surgery. It is possible to drive a car same time.

You could back to sport (running, jumping, heavy lifting) in 4 months since bow legs (genu varum) surgery is done.

    Pavel Korsun, manager

  • @pavelkorsun is that procedure available to all hospitals ??.. im beginning to get chills after what you've send

after 2 months ...in walking .. is there any non- surgical procedure ?..

  • @boyeks Hi! Dr.Veklich performs bow legs (genu varum) correction treatment in private clinic in Kiev (Ukraine). There the only place you could have your bow legs (genu varum) correction with Dr.Veklich's technique.

Unfortunatelly there is no other way to fix bow legs (genu varum) problem - the only orthopedic surgery could help. Because the bow legs (genu varum) problem is problem of bone deformity.

If you have questions - please, ask.

    Pavel Korsun, manager of Dr.Veklich

  • @pavelkorsun ohh.. are there any offers like that in the U.S. or in the Philippines?..

  • @boyeks Hi! Dr.Veklich performs bow legs (genu varum) correction treatment in Kiev (Ukraine) only. If you wantg to have your bow legs (genu varum) correction with Dr.Veklich's technique - you need to come in Ukraine.

If you have questions - please, ask.

    Pavel Korsun, manager of Dr.Veklich

  • A few questions, if someone gets this treatment, will there legs be fixed permanently, or will they gradually bow again over time,

what is the average price for this procedure

and will this procedure cause leg pains after the healing duration, for instance will i be able to play football after the legs have healed, or will there be permanent 'side effects' to this?

  • @mrpwnage6969

    Dear Sir or Madam,

If your age is over 18 years old after bow legs (genu varum) correction treatment the result - straight legs is for all your life.

I answer on your private e-mail regarding price of the treatment.

The most uncomfortable are 2-3 days after bow legs (genu varum) correction surgery, next the level of pain is going down. The level of pain is under control by painkillers. The pains also return for short time when you start standing on your legs and start walking.

  • @mrpwnage6969

Yes, you will be able to run, jump, heavy lifting in 4-5 months since bow legs (genu varum) correction surgery (1-2 months after Ilizarov-Veklich apparatus removal).

To know about the recovery of a UK patient after 1,5 years since the surgery you could search in youtube:

"UK patient experience and interview in 1,5 years after bow legs (genu varum) correction treatment"

    Pavel Korsun, manager of Dr.Veklich

  • It says this video was posted 7 months before it was taken how does this make any sense?

  • @edmac1988

David's surgery have been just before New Year 2009 (29.12.2008). Next 3 months of recovery form the surgery till Ilizarov-Veklich apparatus removal (11.04.2009). The video also shows how a patient walks after the removal (13.042009)

    Pavel Korsun, manager

  • can he run fast?

  • @k3pol69

Yes, patient recovered 100% and could run, jump, heavy lifting and do any kind of sport activities without any limitations.

  • @TheNboy007 Stretching?

  • I am very interested in this procedure. I never knew till today that my bow legged could be corrected!! this is so exciting! Just a few quick questions:

    1) is there a really large waiting list for this procedure?

    2) are the effects of the correction permanent?

    3) is there any risks involved that I should know before I undertake this procedure?

thank you very much =) this would give me soo much confidence and new enthusiam towards my life !

  • @Ebzyy

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I have answered all your questions by youtube e-mail.

If you have questions - please, ask.

    Pavel Korsun, manager

  • Dear Sir or Madam,

Yes, it is safe. The time of bow legs correction surgery is 45 minutes only for both legs. The surgery is bloodless and the cut of both tibia is done through puncture on a skin. There are only three small scars (6 mm in diameter) for each leg after Ilizarov-Veklich apparatus removal. Please, look other videos from Dr.Veklich youtube account.

    Pavel Korsun, manager

  • is this treatment safe?

  • i really need that treatment, it will make me more confident..:)

  • I really want 2 get that, but i dnt think my mom will let me. How much does it cost? Does hurt alot?

  • I'm trying to understand the comments because it seems like no one here can write basic English.

  • @HONEY941 Because afte time you will get pain in your knees and it degenerates your cartilage at a faser rate so you feel like a 80 year old when you're only 30. Plus you look funny.

  • Would it be considered bow legs if the knees DO touch but the lower leg does not? because thats how mines are

  • @TheSamIAm021

Please, send your legs pictures (front and back views) for Dr.Veklich examination on my e-mail. While making pictures it should be a gap between your feet by 1,5 cm.

    Pavel Korsun, manager

  • Is this treatment for life or you have to keep coming back after a certain time. Will it hurt later in life like after 50?

  • @saeenbaba

Thank you for your question. Yes, the result of bow legs correction treatment is for all your life. Patient on the video is 65 years old. And now you could look at his interview and experience in 1,5 years after bow legs correction surgery:

    youtube.com/view_play_list?p=F73D78EBC0B793EF

There is no pains at all.

    Pavel Korsun, manager

  • is there a natural way to straighten up a bowed leg person?

  • @maerhe18

The main problem of bow legs is bone deformity so the only orthopedic surgery could help in straightening legs in natural position. Making physical exercises you could make changes to muscles shape but could not change the bone curvature.

  • @pavelkorsun i'm from india and i have bow legs which makes me uncomfortable in front of my friends.so if i go for a surgery how much will it cost in india.and will it effect my football(soccer) career?please reply.am 18 years old

  • @preledo

    Hello Preledo,

    Thank you for your questions.

Regarding the cost of bow legs (genu varum) correction treatment, please, contact me by e-mail.

The treatment will not effect your soccer career. After bow legs correction treatment you could go for any kind of sport without limitations and soccer as well. You could look at video of UK patient in 1,5 years after bow legs (genu varum) correction treatment: youtube.com/view_play_list?p=F73D78EBC0B793EF

  • @pavelkorsun

muscles tightness or hypotone affects bones tilt, expecially knees and hips so

the muscles do affect the position of the bone.

  • @OvoPiano

With bow legs problem there is a deformity of both tibia bones under knees. Working with muscles could not make the bone straight. The only orthopaedic surgery could help.

    Pavel Korsun, manager

  • @pavelkorsun

I think it depends on how serious the deformity is. The patient in this video had

really bowed legs and huge space between them. But I know people with mild

bowed legs that completely straightened them by strenghtening the abductor muscles and stretching the adductors. I'm sure surgery is the only thing someone with very severe bowed bones can do but for people with mild leg deformity there's

    hope with exercises.

  • @OvoPiano

The natural legs positiona is while knees touch each other there is a gap between foots by 1,5 cm. If you look though Internet you find out that the exericeses could not fix the problem on 100%. Even with the small deformity the problem is still present - knees do not touch each other.

  • Comment removed

  • Dear Mark Sanders MD,

Whole treatment time takes 3 months from bow legs correction surgery till Ilizarov-Veklich apparatus removal.

Pavel Korsun, manager of Ladisten clinic

  • Nice work doc. How long before your patients are full weight bearing and the fixator is removed? In as much as I have always looked to Davos for anwers to these questions, I have been using the TOMOFIX for HTOs so I hav eno experience with the Ex-fix for osteotomy.

    Mark Sanders MD FACS

  • I have bow legs, I HAAAAAAAAAATE THEM with like a serious passion, I cant even wear heels properly they get in the way! jeez

  • there is a downside to this tretment when u get it don u also get kay leg

  • Hi MsStephanie1997,

What is "kay leg"? What does it mean?

Anyone else care to answer that, if they have any information concerning "kay legs"?

  • Usually treatment time for bow legs correction treatment is 3 months. A patient could walk while Ilizarov-Veklich apparatus on his or her legs (as before the surgery) in 2 months since the surgery done. So you could come for bow legs correction surgery and 2 months of rehabilitation. Next you could return to your job. Then in a months comes one more time in the clinic just for 2 days for Ilizarov-Veklich apparatus removal.

  • but how long exactly it takes to correct the bow legs? i mean im from singapore and my holidays are only 2 months max =x

  • Hi! Please, contact me by e-mail regarding question of total cost.

    Pavel Korsun

    manager

    Ladisten clinic

  • i how much does this cost aproximately? all my pants have to be baggy because of my legs

  • God has answered my prayers, from now I'll start saving money, I must have this surgery, I'm so happy,I've always wonder around thinking if there is really a procedur that can help ppl with bow legs.

  • God didn't do shit.

  • This is simply amazing, although I do have to admit that this video slightly creeped me out.

  • Yes, it works. But the other technique is used and it works for knock knees. For more details, please, contact me by e-mail.

    Pavel Korsun

  • Does this work for knock kneed people as well? I have this problem. Thanks.

  • Believe me, if I had known this procedure was available, and the results achievable, if I had known 30 years ago when I was a teenager, I would certainly have been a happier, healthier and better human being.

  • yes that was available in Russian , but u could go there 30 years ago. Ilizarov technology should be availble in any country. but its not

  • I want to have this surgery, but I don't exactly want to go to Europe for this. I'm 19 years old, and this looks like it costs thousands of dollars.

  • wow, great results. but those leg braces scares me, it feel like his knees were going to snap.... since the procedure include breaking and re-ordering bones yikes!

  • my legs are also like that.

however it doesn't really bother me since i can walk and run fine.

only my ankles give me a little trouble

  • hi doctor

    that`s great work

my left leg is bowed i wonder if you cutting bones or what i afraid if it`ll be shorter than the right leg !

and i heard it must do another surgery after 10 years because it will hurt is that right ?

  • Hi,

Please here answer on your question:

It is possible to perform your left leg correction and leg lengthning simultaneously. So after the treatment your legs will be same length.

You do not need to wait for 10 years - whole treatment time take around 6-7 month.

If you have questions - please ask by e-mail.
