  • 2:43 - 3:20 The most exiting part of the song

  • this is one of the best songs of paul mccartney, exelente job

  • beautiful video to accompany a beautiful song!

  • GREAT video , GREAT video!

  • The Laws and Paul duet is awesome.

  • PAUL PLAYED EVERYTHING on this album

  • Oh my god, i love this song. a typical pmc song. paul still is the best

  • Paul is not quite dead, he's just risen. Live life backwards. He wants us to fly, so fly! We will all see soon.

  • This cunt wants shootin!!!

  • Aw come on Paul, how about releasing all your hidden gems

  • hahahaha i didnt write this! lol damn my cousin!

  • THIS IS NOT THE REAL PAUL McCARTNEY!! THE REAL PAUL McCDIED IN A FATIAL CAR ON NOVEMBER IN THE YR 1966 AR 5 A.M IN FRONT OF A RECORDING STUDIO IN LONDON

  • @peREZproductions1 You've been watching too much of the mockumentary "Paul Mccartney Really Is Dead". If you were informed you would know that film has too many inconsistencies to be taken serious. Paul is alive and well, as is Tupac...lol.

  • @matt2422 Paul's song Anyday on his Chaos and creation album was a plagiarism of a Curtis Mayfield song called People get ready.

  • This is his favourite song to play when he's tossing his slaves off a cliff and into the ocean.

  • Another heinous bucket of shite from the master of em.Mccartney needs to hang!

  • @3rdpug

    LOL thumb dick

  • love the song!

  • how esoteric!

  • Brilliante!!!!!!!!

  • just when you think you've heard everything you find something else Paul wrote and cant help but change your favorite Paul song everytime you hear a song- they're all pretty good

  • FFFFFFF how do you get this track? I bought the CD, but apparently there is something more special than the 'special edition.'

  • @SkittlesTheLucario It's the B-side to one of the singles from the album.

  • wounderful song

  • Just can't belive he left this off chaos in favour of the awful plagiarism of People get ready that closes the album. V.Strange!

  • @Stube437 Paul McCartney frequently hides his best tracks... why? It drives the hardcore fans nuts. This track doesn't really fit into the mood set by Chaos, though.

  • @mccrabapple I guess so. nevermind. We've got playlists now so when i get this on my itunes i can make it how i want :)

  • I love to take his b-sides and leftovers and create new mixes of his albums with the obscure tracks in place.

  • @Stube437 agreed

  • @Stube437 This song is great, but, in spite of its similarity to People Get Ready, Anyway is a beautiful song, too.

  • he sounds like prince haha :) was he trying to???

  • this song is awesome!!!

  • I love this song...I thought it's about me...

  • It is about you. It's ALL about you.

    Peace,

    Crabapple

  • hehehe

  • @mccrabapple hehehe

  • @mccrabapple

  • Does anyone else think that this song is about his little daughter, Beatrice? He wants her to grow up, to blossom "to fly" and that whole bit about "hiding..." keeping her privacy.

  • @Doleafol Yeah, that would make sense.

  • ? Awesome song for me...

  • good video mate!

  • Who's the drummer on this track? Is it Paul in his best Ringo impersonation to date? I mean the phased fills near the end...very cool.

  • I suspect it's all Paul, but it's a B-side, as as I recall there is no credit information for musicians. If anyone knows... fill us in!

Everything about this track is cool!

    D

  • Yeah I agree, one of his best of the `recent' tracks. I assume it's Paul cause he speeds up a bit in the beginning, although that can happen to the best of us.

On a different youtube page we've discussed McCartney's drumming on Dear Prudence, which sounds extremely Ringo-ish (funny cause Ringo had left after Paul had criticized his drumming) The fills on I Want You To Fly appear to have the same timing as the ones near the end of Dear Prudence which are typical of Ringo. But it's not him!

  • @xavierbaudet "Ringo would generally ask Paul what he should do". That's a quote from Norman Smith, the Beatles first sound engineer to the drumming style of Ringo.

  • Yeah but those were general outlines and perhaps an occasional detail I suppose. McCartney's own drumming is very, very different from Ringo's. The one exception is Dear Prudence and I Want You To Fly. Judging from many of John Lennon's solo records( for instance Woman, Watching The Wheels, Imagine) it sounds almost as if he had more influence on Ringo's drumming than McCartney, for he makes people like Alan White and Andy Newmark drum like Ringo, although not nearly as cool....

  • @yesiamize Norman Smith never was a big Ringo fan, so he might be putting him down with that comment. On the other hand, I think Ringo knew what to do, but it's better to ask the composer what he wants on his songs. Besides, Smith left right after Rubber Soul, and thats when Ringo really came into his own.

  • Too Old To Teach, hä!

  • I don't trust him anymore. I am DR, not he.

  • Why on earth didn't the put this on the end of chaos instead of that rip off of Curtis Mayfields people get ready?

  • This song should have been the single, or at least the opening track. Same goes for "India," the best thing he's ever done (Beatle's included) and it hasn't even been released!

As for that "People Get Ready rip-off," the song sounds similar to several songs, I think they're just really standard chord changes, they seem to repeat a lot in popular music.

  • Why do you like India so much?

  • Ed,

It just hits me in the same spot every time. Plus, it's classic Paul... wasting his best work on B-sides or tucked away in obscure places. It's also painfully heart-rending, especially if you substitute "Linda" for "India."

  • I shall give it another... few more listens. I have a tendency to hear the music and get trapped by melodies and the instruments rather than listening to the words along with the music. Songs like "Hey Jude" are right in your face so that's easy.

  • Hmm. just listened to it. I don't what I heard the first time. Guess it was late, or I was drunk, or both. Maybe I just need an ear lift, lol. Pretty powerful. The addition of Linda does cross it to a higher level.

  • Think about it

1: He burried "India", and it's so powerful, I imagine he didn't feel comfortable putting something this personal up for criticism or rejection.

2: He was married to someone else, but still in love with Linda. Naturally he had to change the name.

    3: lyrical content.

"You're in my heart forever and ever"

"I'll get back to you somehow"

4: He has a history of universalizing his pain (Let It Be.)

5: He has a history of changing names when he writes about specific people, (Hey Jude.)

  • A rip off? You need an ear lift buddy. But at least you have good taste. Have a good one. Ed

  • .....nice video too.....speechless...

  • A poster in "The A.V. Club" wrote that this was the best cut since the Beatles. I can see why.

  • I have never heard this song from macca before, but its pretty kickass. Ram on everyone

  • wow trippy album

  • I only recently found out about this song (and the other 5 bonus songs linked to C&C) and it's one of my all-time favorites. Words of wisdom in a catchy melody, Sir Paul's trademark. Thanks for the lovely video.

  • i have the chaos and creation album since it came out, have listened to it loads and never realised this was on it!! i will be listening again, thats for sure!

  • u2 DITTO

  • Any chance we can see your efforts with 'Hanglide' off of the 'Press to Play' extras? " 't'would be the sweetest thing..." (Donovan) - Peace, yer Brother, Andy

  • My "Hangglide" video has been done for some time, same with "Watercolour Rush," but I can't figure out how to upload them. I may try from the University. I'm working on a new one in Flash, too... it'll have actual "animation." Don't know if I'll be able to upload any of them... then there's the TOS bullshit. Macca/YouTube/ASCAP has had at least 3 of my efforts pulled.

  • Thank you so much for posting this great song. Sweet Video too... I really do get so very weary, bored actually, of people who go out their way 'bash' the Macca... Envy? Rage that they are inept? Frustration that this man has continued to produce his art, his way, in spite of his critics, for nearly 50 years...? Those of us who are truly aware of his entire canon of projects/lyrics/Tunes/abiding love for Linda are a special people. I have subscribed to your sight. Thank you. Andy Hunt, Texas.

  • Amen, brother... the "bashers" are usually guided by some pathetic effort to maintain some image or misguided hipness. I'm suspicious of anyone who flatly dislikes or disregards McCartney.

    Their loss!

  • Sent you a friend invite, also, I make a few silly things you might want to see. Andy

  • Absolutely! If someone says he doesn't like Macca's music, I would suspect that he hasn't got very good hearing or very much musical sense at all.

  • I've purchased the cd single just for this song.I wish he added it on CCITBY greta song Macca

  • 0:50 "ooo I love Satan" I always thought that's what he sings.

  • @maskof he is saying "at the same time"

  • Macca rules!!!

  • wow this is one of the best songs ive ever heard..very moving.

  • Wow. I'm always disappointed that Paul doesn't think a song like this hasn't a spot on the regular release......Why does he do that? It's a great song. So many of his unreleased songs, bootleg songs, and B-sides never get heard by some people. Girl's School, Waterspout, 222, etc. Hmmm. Some of these are some his best work and should be not only included, but FEATURED on his albums.

  • Yes.

  • And C-Moon is one of my favorites, too!!!

  • great stuff ,keep up the good work!

  • I listen to this song today make me cry...until I can't breath...

I like to be near you whatever you do...

I like you to get back whatever you lose...

I wonna hold on to you don't want to go...

  • I'm sorry...This video is wonderful...I love this song and couldn't have it...Very very sad...

  • (Laudable) x 2 + (Loveable) x 3 + ( Adorable) x 4 + (Admirable) x 100 = This Video

  • Enjoy it while you can, YouTube's been pulling down my vids... even though McCartney talked about liking one of them.

  • great!!!great!!!great!!!great!!!great!!!great!!!great!!!

    great!!!great!!!great!!!great!!!great!!!great!!!great!!!

  • Yeah... but did you like it?

  • I LUV PAUL !!!!!

  • Love yours too:-)

  • Since I came to knowing it, I listen to it every day lots of times! It's magical and wonderful! I adore Mr. McCartney!

    xxx

  • I'm really happy to see your great video come back. It is very beautiful. I love this song and your video very very much.

  • Músicos de la categoría de McCartney no nacen todos los días. Sin duda es uno de los más geniales. Ojalá lo sigan descubriendo las generaciones futuras. Es a la música lo que Picasso al arte.

  • I wish I could have all 19 songs of The Chaos and Creation in the Backyard in one or two Disc set or make it to music video or whatever which I can order it through the line. I got so confused I didn't know how to explain to the computer (ordering on line) about buying all of these songs.

  • I don't know what "mediocre" albums you're talking about... but to each his own.

By the way... no need to argue the point.

  • My sentiments exactly.....he is sheer genius..with anything...such talent!!

  • i have the chaos and creation special edit and seriously i didnt hear about this song. i feel guilty somehow for not knowing about it thats a shame coming from me but thanks alot mccrabapple

  • Luv this song!!!

  • =) =) =) =)

I like the video too much, thanks a lot!!!

  • bien dicho ami tanbien me encanta el genio paul.

  • Mccrabapple, if you have the other song This Loving Game from the Jenny Wren cd single, please post it. Thanks!

  • I'd love to keep posting, but YouTube has changed some formatting thingies, and I can no longer post ANY videos at all. I've tried every possible variable, and NONE of my new videos will upload properly. Of course, emailing YouTube for information proved to be a waste of time.

Sorry, but I have been essentially forced out of the YouTube community by YouTube.

Is it any wonder I am a ludite?

Long live paper, pens, guitars, and all things made of wood, metal, and other tangible things!

  • Sounds so sweet, especially the middle where it picks up!

  • i love this!

  • Thanks for this video. kinda like the gems found in the McGeaR lp....

  • beautiful...

    perfectly macca

    thanks for posting!

come to think of it he left "check my machine" off of my fav..mccartneyll..

    why does he do that?;-)

  • This is good, but could someone please post the song This Loving Game, that is a fantastic song.

  • you can find this song on the Jenny Wren cd single

  • i hope someday Macca will make a cd with all the good song he never put on album... it could surely make one of his best album :)

  • yeah, I love your comment!!!!

  • Why does he keep his best music unreleased.

  • "Why does he keep his best music unreleased."

The question that's baffled McCartney fans since time began... but he does it all the time! Think this is a good buried gem?.. check out INDIA!!!

  • just listend to it, VERY GOOD! come on paul get that cold cutz album out, it's long overdue...

  • nice one

  • I Want You to Fly is a rare gem by the creative genius of Paul. We need to text message Paul stating to please put all his rare gems in a Box Set with a dvd.

  • yeah!!!very good paul!!!!;)

  • ...amicus humani generis.....(friend of the human race)

  • fantastic music brilliant production

  • What's with the jelly fish man...

  • When was this released? Extra track on what?

  • Jenny Wren single, there's another song as well on the cd, unreleased, forgot the title.

  • This Loving Game is the other song, but not a spot on this gem.

  • Gotta love it!

  • It gets more and more beatleslike towards the end

  • First time I have heard this, great song! (as usual).

  • An excellent video for an excellent song. I commented on another of your videos and just wanted to know how you came across the bonus tracks for Chaos and Creation. I'm really interested in adding them to my McCartney collection but can't find them anywhere.

  • I got most of the bonus tracks from people who were kind enough to send them to me. I try and reciprocate when I can, but we´ve moved from the States to Korea to Chile, and things have been chaotic to say the least.

  • 00:28 Nice guitar. Is that made with glass or acrylic?

  • It's acrylic, they're supposed to be real crappy guitars.

  • @Pinkpegasus it's made out of Michael Jacksons bones Yolanda Saldívar !

  • @Pinkpegasus it's made of burritos, tubby

  • wait, is it a bonus or something? never heard of this song

  • Yes the gates have opened. Had to come and watch and listen once more. Thank you Mr. mccrabapple.

  • there should be a rarities album for all this stuff like "rain Clouds" and "Big Boys Bickering" like b-sides and stuff

  • Definitely a physicist at heart (the genius of Paul)

  • Yes this is one of my favorite songs from Chaos and Creation..............and it isn't even on the regular album. It should have been on the album for sure! Oh well........either way it's an excellent song, as is the whole album. Paul is definately at a new creative point in his life. I love it!

  • paul mccartney best genius!!!

  • This is so kewl. This is the first time I've heard this song. Great video :) What album is this song from?

  • I quote from the "About this video" section : a bonus track from Chaos and Creation In the Backyard"

So it is not in the regular edition of Caos and creation, I wish to have the special one, this song just rocks! XD

  • this is great! why isn't it on an album? outstanding video.

  • Paul at his experimental best! such a good song. i liked it instantly when i bought the CD.

  • This is wonderful! I have never heard it. Thank God for youtube!!!!!

  • BONEHAD McCartney bashers have been posting idiotic comments. Don't waste your time on my videos as I will IMMEDIATELY delete dumb shit.

  • the original track is strongly panned with left-right panning.........collectors should get acopy of it!!

  • Transparent guitar...exqusite...thank you Mr. Crabapple. Another outstanding video..lovey your images. Oh yeah...lol...AND thank you Sir McCartney...top of the charts really...the base just rocks this song. Well everything rocks really...lol

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • I loooove this song. It gets stuck in one's mind for weeks. When I first heard it I didn't regconize Mccartney's vocals and didn't sense any beatleness in it, I just thought it was a new brilliant and very atmospheric song of an old sixties band or something. It was apparently close ...

Anyway, Does anyone have the CHORDS to this amazing song?

  • Yeah, this song has that "FEEL" that pulls the listenner in deep. It's perfect. McCartney hasn't lost a thing over the years. Sorry, I don't have the chords.

  • JPM4Ever. In the UK, this was the b-side to Jenny Wren.

  • Great video. Never heard of the song though but it's not bad :)

  • Hey is there an intrumental to 'Fly'? Know where I could find it? Thanks.

  • Not that I know of..

    "Growing Up, Falling Down"

francamenet te sorprende las cosas que pude hacer mc sin duda uno de los mejores compositores de todos los tiempos

  • juliocesar creo que junto a mozart son los dos mas importantes de todos los tiempos

  • Thank you very much! Never heard it before. Great song, great video.

  • Thank you for posting the Song---NOT TO EVEN MENTION THE GREATT!!!!! VIDEO JOB---WELL DONE

  • This is the first time I have heard this song. I really like it. Thanks so much for posting. It seems Paul has a lot of music, like this one that needs to be offically released. Now that would be a great CD.

  • great song and great artwork

    congratulations lad...

  • This is my favorite of your Paul videos. Maybe because I love the song so much. Your artistic view adds even more to the song.

  • YouTube has SCREWED UP and LOST every single COMMENT I've gotten in the past two weeks, so I can no longer approve comments. Please post comments, and I will police the videos for spam. If your comment was lost, please repost.

  • Cool:) You`ve got a interesting taste. You don`t like Pauls hits, but the hidden gems:) That`s cool. Paul is a fantastic songwriter. He can write anything!

  • His hits are my guilty pleasure...

  • Thanks for posting it. Paul: if you tour, PLEASE come to Chile.

  • Thank YOU ! I didn't hear this before - Love your graphics - & thanks also, for the comment parameters...LOVE love love...I love Paul !

  • In an effort to STOP SPAMMERS, all comments for my videos will have to be approved.

  • I love it too. I keep playing it. Thanks

  • Thanks for taking the time to comment!

  • You're welcome. Hoped that helped!

  • I felt Paul intertwined a bit of a Lennon influence, as well as stepping out a bit of the McCartney box.

    Thanks for sharing a legend.

  • Thnaks for the cooment... though McCartney has never worked in a box... and if he has, his box is HUGE (encompassing classical, ambient, techno, straight pop, hard rock, acid rock, ballads, heavy metal, Celtic, folk, traditional... and LOTS more.)

  • I believe I worded that incorrectly! I apologize for keeping my self in a box! Peradventure I was attempting to say, McCartney is wonderful at exploring new possibilities!

  • Thanks for clarifying... and thanks again for taking the time to post a comment.

  • Hey ! This is a huge suprise . This is the first time I'm hearing this tune. Awsome tune !

  • Quintessential McCartney! This song sums him up... one of his best... and as usual... he buried it as a B-side! I think it's from the Jenny Wren single.

  • I am hearing this song for the first time. It's lovely. And I appreciate the time you've taking to put this vid together. Thank you very much.

    Heather

  • Yeah, tremendous song! More people should know about it. Glad you enjoyed the video, it was fun to put together. Thanks for the comment!

  • I agree with you mccrabapple. This is why I'm a McCartney fan too.

  • Cool to see a video of this song. I have done a McCartney 5 cd careerspan and this song is on it. should have been on the album. great vid

  • The comments are always welcome. It always amazes me what songs he leaves off his Cd's. Thanks to anyone who posts a comment.

  • That was pretty trippy. I liked it.
