@iJsturgess you've just go to the movie settings and set the quality to HD (1280x720) and you've done! When you're filming just try to be more stable than you can, or use a tripod!
If you're a lot interested in filming maybe the canon is a little bit better, 'cause ther started earlier in introducing movie in their cameras. Nikon suffer a little of a "jelly effect" if you see (i don't know if also canon by the way!).
Movie editing is more important than the camera, maybe! =)
Can you tell me the settings you used and some tips when i film ? as you have done brill ! X
I also have a new Nikon D5000 and cant make my mind up if i should swop it for Canon 550d
